This 100% I’m not saying that Page should be in the starting 11 but Marti’s treatment of him, after he signed his contract winds me up. We need players that can get up and down the pitch yet here we are again with Bouba, Ayew and James playing out of position.

Out of curiosity, do you have the same anger towards Carranza, Faes and Thomas too, who were pathetic in their role within the Pompey goal.

I was going to post something similar. I can’t say how angry Faes’ role in their goal made me. 1) He puts all his weight onto the wrong foot, so he lets Yang just ghost past him 2) What annoys me the most, he’s about 40 yards out so no risk of picking up a red but can see us backpedaling, just pick up a yellow and bring him down and break up their play. I know the second point is “anti-football” but Man City and Liverpool do that type of thing, week in, week out. Get Wout out of my club!!!!

Yet the players who have received the most vitriol aren’t academy players but Ward and Faes? There are too many players who have let us down on multiple occasions, yet they keep getting the nod, hence the posts asking to bring in the likes of Nelson, Aluko etc.

Exactly this. Reid won’t nor can’t run past their FB so must be the easiest type of winger to play against.

Page looked our best 10 at pressing though. We look old, lethargic and dare I say it unfit which is criminal for professional footballers. I’m not claiming that Page should start but him coming on at the end of games would see some legs and desire, what did Reid or Ayew offer when coming on? I could even stomach him going with one of Reid/Ayew on the bench if he had Page on it too, otherwise we’re just serving up the same one paced dross.

Some good points but ignoring our academy options. How many posts have a lot of us done about Nelson, re watch Pompey’s goal and Faes’ role in it, example number 5 this season alone. Imagine on our bench having Page as a like for like sub for Ramsay rather than the plodding Ayew/Reid? Aluko should be getting minutes ahead of Thomas IMO but at least have him on the bench. There are probably more cases too.

See, I saw the opposite, couldn’t doubt his lack of effort but he looked nervous and wasn’t playing with any type of swagger. He definitely at this stage of his career would be much better suited to being an impact sub.

Why does Wout feel the need to slump to the floor and dangle out a leg, when someone runs directly at him? As others have said, I hate seeing him play for us so much, his mannerisms really grind my gears.
