Like Enzo?
-
Well that was pointless then.

I'm not so sure it's as clueless as you think. This is the latest in the Pep disciple experiment. So far with resources outweighing the competition they have all achieved some form of success. Bayern believe that Kompany can replicate his Burnley success there because, as with their championship season, their resources outweigh that of their competitors. In terms of playing squad Enzo had better resources than the competition and won the league. Now they probably won't expect to be winning the league but they'll be hoping to open up a gap over other clubs that have less resources than them rather than finishing 6th and 12th as they have the last few years.

Chelsea have Petrovic, Sanchez and Mendy on the books. Doubt they'll be after Mads yet. Makes more sense to move for him if we're either relegated or he proves himself when we stay up. And he's got the golden glove. And a Prem winners medal... Putting the pipe down...
-
Think he was just using the tweet to point out who his agency is.
-
Besides Maresca will need preseason to look at and assess all his options and it's not as though they'd be averse to coming back for him a year from now for an absurd fee if his current players aren't deemed to be up to par.

I would not throw up all over me shoes if this happened.

Premier League 24/25 Pre-season guff (misc talking points)

That is fair, that penalty incident was a farce. But if Poch made an example of those players nobody would have batted an eyelid. You could leave Madueke or Jackson out and nobody would be bothered because the players don't have the status yet.
-
They've been on the forum then.
-
You're naive.
-
What egos are we talking about? This isn't a squad of winners? This isn't the John Terry era, there's no Eden Hazards in there. This squad has won nothing. It doesn't have any real superstars. Literally the only player that can flop his bollocks out and give it the big'un is Cole Palmer. And he's been there a year. His namesake is the only player in the side to win anything, and that was with Argentina. And there are enough squad options to sit them out if they kick up a fuss.

People saying about Chelsea coming in and buying Mads (or anyone else) should probably note that it's been widely pointed out that Chelsea need to sell to buy. Gallagher, despite being one of their better performers this season, is often being linked with moves away (though no takers it seems) because they need to raise funds. This is disputed, but I wouldn't be surprised if they kept their spending a bit more sensible this summer.

Yes but surely you're of the understanding that Enzo is not an LCFC fan and therefore emotion isn't a part of his thinking when it comes to his career. There will be LCFC players who have far more affiliation with the club and it's fans that will also jump ship as soon as an offer from one of the elite (money) clubs comes along.

I want a tactically flexible, attacking, possession-based team. Players that are brave, that aren't afraid to make mistakes. That can get on the ball and show courage and really try to enjoy their football. If the players are enjoying their football, there's a chance that the supporters will enjoy it as well. That's how you grow and develop as a club. Styles of play don't make you win games. The challenge is having players believe in it and how it works. –Potter, on the philosophy he sought to establish at Chelsea From his wiki

Yes, but new managers don't work for free.
-
I don't see a scenario in which Potter joins us. He's probably in pole position for the England job after the summer, a job that pretty much every English manager aspires to whilst there's no other real obvious candidates. Outside of that, we're not really an attractive proposition for him are we? Newly promoted, players out of contract, no budget, possible points deduction. There's not much upside unless he's incredibly sure he could navigate that to survival in order to up his profile, but on paper you're more likely to think you're risking a relegation and/or sacking.
-
You say that as though those things don't apply if Enzo stays.
-
Can we get Omari Hutchinson thrown our way as part of the deal?
-
I'd imagine Cucurella can do it on the left, and they have Lavia who can do it on the right as well as Caicedo, despite both primarily being midfielders. Although you never know the inverted role might be just what Reece James needs in order to keep himself fit. Worked for Ricardo. Think you'll see: Sanchez Disasi Badiashile Colwill Lavia Caicedo Palmer Fernandez Madueke Daka Nkuku
-
And still is at Prem level.
-
O'Riley in probably only happens if KDH is sold.
-
They coped ok with Ndidi to Mavididi.
-
Yet ironically we're probably the best example in world football of why you still should.
