Does it matter? I just wonder why after a great win yesterday, you feel the need to be in here being defensive. Why does it even matter. You’re doing great, you’re nailed on for promotion now. Can you just be happy about that? Just seems very insecure… This is a Leicester forum, of course fans opinions are going to be biased, especially as like you point out, we don’t see all your games!
-
Haha yeah sorry, it was clear what you meant, just being pedantic . But yeah, I agree with your point that after the points we have dropped recently at home, it has put more pressure to pick up maximum points in these aways. Ipswich will win their two listed there comfortably and be top. Leeds I think will beat Stoke but could drop points at Hillsborough as Wednesday are in good form, especially at home, and are sensing safety!
-
Especially if we are going to drop out the top 2, Ipswich will be up automatically. We won’t have to worry about them in the playoffs!
-
I wasn’t talking about ref decisions as much as just breaks going for you. In the context of that post, it was more aimed at Leeds to be fair. Look, ultimately you’re getting your points because you’re fighting to the end and working hard. That’s why you and Leeds will be top 2 come the end of the season. Do you have as much attacking in the box though? When I see Ipswich there is a lot of shooting from range, probably the reason for a lot of deflected goals because you’re actually taking shots rather than being afraid to like our lot.

‘At least’ 6 points from 2 games 🤨

Penalties are not fortunate if as a result of good play and stretching your opponent. We had a really cheap one that shouldn’t have been against Swansea but apart from that, there’s been no complaints. Penalties given that are soft and shouldn’t have been are fortunate of course. Same with red cards for opponents. I put that post during the Leeds a game yesterday. A red card for an opponent where they fling an unnecessary elbow I class as a fortunate break playing against someone who’s going to be idiotic. A red card for an opponent where you’ve broken the defensive line, got through on goal for example and your forward is cleaned out by a chasing defender or goalkeeper is not a fortunate break as you’ve created that with your play. That was the point I was making and the differentiation.

People are just unable to, or don’t want to, separate Vichai from Top. Vichai was a good an owner as they come. At that point, I genuinely felt we had the best owners in the country and had won the lottery as a club. Top is proving he is nothing like his dad was. He is not strong or decisive. Under Vichai we saw near constant progression. Under Top we are seeing regression on and off the pitch. Being critical of Top and King Power now is not questioning Vichai which is what people need to realise.

I agree with this. If we fail to go up from where we were and from here, it will go to show that for all the technical ability you can have, to get promoted out this league requires more than that. It requires a lot of mental traits that we are just not showing. It’s tough as Pearson oversaw a huge collapse (a couple of wins in 15 I think) in 2012/13 before we stormed the league the season after. I just feel though that Enzo would want more of the same in the transfer window to double down on his vision and not actually correct the issues we are having whereas Pearson did with the likes of Kev Phillips, Big Was and even bigger GTF. I just have the feeling that when it comes to recovering from a collapse (if it does indeed happen), Enzo would be more like Rodgers than Pearson and coming back stronger next season would be unlikely. We would need to identify where it went wrong, what is needed and recruit accordingly.

Oh dear, poor Forest. Having to get their referee analyst to kick off as the Liverpool keeper was given the ball back rather than Forest and Liverpool scored 1 minute and 50 seconds later…. Of course Forest had no chance of preventing the goal occurring in nearly two minutes of football and from the complete other end of the pitch? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68459920

Taking off my own blue tints, it’s very unlikely we finish above you now. Momentum and grit are huge at this time of the season and we have neither whilst you have both in spades. Ipswich and Leeds now for me, unsure what order.

Fantastic result! What a likeable team Huddersfield are Must win ours today. Get a couple of the points lost between us back this week.
-
100% going to score before the end.
-
Bad news potentially with Ricardo…doesn’t exactly do short injuries does he! Hopefully isn’t anything serious.
-
Oh well it was nice whilst it lasted. Gap is going down to 3 ahead of us kicking off!
-
Stand corrected again. Had a mare there
-
Of course, I stand corrected 👍

If we had a fraction of the fortuitous breaks Leeds and Ipswich have going for them, we’d be out of sight now. Even if the decision there is correct, it’s still good fortune for Leeds to have an opponent do that. It’s not like it’s a red card born from fantastic play. Have we even had a red card for an opponent against us this season? I can’t think of one. Then disallowed goals given in their favour, penalties not given against them, double deflected goals etc. the list is endless!

Was the first booking soft? Not been watching it but as much as I’d love to say it was a ‘Leeds decision’ it was a booking. But not sure what the first one was like.

QPR home pre-match thread, 3pm Saturday.

I thought that was the best Coady had played for us on Tuesday but he did play 120 minutes so whether or not he’ll be ready who knows. Whilst I’d love Nelson to get his chance, I think some experience to try and navigate the next few games is key. As has been mentioned above as well, Hamza and whether he can. Otherwise we should be looking fresh having made so many changes. -
I know! It’s a shame you have to say that our fans may give a warm reception to a local academy graduate who served the team well and made a good profit along the way and it be ironic rather than the likely reality but oh well!
-
With our fans, more likely he gets booed and jeered at!

Odd. Normally the 3 play off finals are on the bank holiday weekend, one on each day. When I read this I thought how is that possible as they can’t have 4 games at Wembley that weekend but it looks like the League 1/2 finals are now the weekend before. I wonder why…

Bournemouth FA Cup (a) Post Match Thread

Excellent win and fully justified the team selection. I’m not sure anyone actively wants us to go out but using your head not your heart, this remains a luxury and second in the priorities behind the league. Ideally, we could rattle off 3 wins now before the quarter finals and give ourselves breathing space to go for it. Glad to beat Bournemouth anyway. A team I have an irrational dislike for. Maybe due to being a bogey side, last season doing the double over us just to roll over for Everton. Also they just seem to spend obscene amounts for a club with a league 1 fanbase. The plucky little Bournemouth thing doesn’t wash either as they were bankrolled up the league. The fact about them only getting to the 5th round was it 5 or 6 times in their history was interesting too. Even when we are in the lower division (based on our historical standings) and actively putting a b team out not bothered, we still seem to make the 5th round/quarters year on year. Levels. -

Decent half that. Lively, evenly matched, some good chances and good saves by both keepers. Opportunity definitely there for us but could easily lose it at the other end. -

At least he left the Raikhy one then as well. Just letting things flow, not bad I guess.
