  1. To be fair, I am a Labour voter as I think as a party, they are the most sensible and balanced. Far right and far left is no good and won’t benefit the country in my opinion. But I would like to see illegal immigration controlled better which Labour have been trying to do. A key part is tackling the gangs responsible. But wanting to see a more controlled system is a far cry from the completely racist Reform rhetoric that I cannot stand. So there must be many other centrally minded voters who agree with balanced approach to it. Not just leaving the gates open but not chasing anyone with brown skin down the street Reform style.
  2. Very mentally and emotionally draining I’d say to be fair. One of those where thankless task is quite literal.
  3. 100%. It was like that with Maresca I’d say, we definitely looked fitter (or more than we have any time since) and it was that more than the tactical style that saw us through the first months before we really looked better by the September. Best thing Martin could do is recognise this and start with the basics before introducing more of the tactical style he wants. But like you say, it feels like he is likely to prioritise that over fitness unfortunately.
  4. As the Tories/other parties would be free to say the same now then?
  5. Parents taking it far too seriously. You hear the abuse refs at kids games get as well. Even when I was a kid, and I’m only in the first half of my 30’s, whilst there were some clubs that were all about winning and bringing in kids from other villages etc, there were plenty like my own team who still put a huge emphasis on enjoyment and participation for all regardless of talent. From what I can gather now, it’s more and more about winning at all costs and cutting kids that aren’t deemed good enough. Sure, there will always be a team lower down for them but sometimes kids want to play for the love of the game and with their mates, for their local grassroots team and are being blocked out due to coaching and parents being so competitive.
  6. Yeah exactly, I agree. My point is, it is the same people who accuse others of being toxic (I.e because we are outspoken about the management of the club) who seem to want to engage in the toxic arguments and ignore the reasoned posts and replies they get. I don’t mind people using the forum as a means to vent but it is very hypocritical to act holier than thou and yet they are just as toxic as anything or anyone else but seem blind to it, likely for the reason as the end of your point. Your post above about domestic violence as well. Just to say, I have seen similar things mentioned and it’s an awful that people get this worked up by it.
  7. I think in terms of your first point, about whether it will turn around, it is unclear whether those defending the running of the club actually think this either. The impression I have got is that they don’t really mind as the ownership have got a free pass to run the club into the ground based on previous achievements. As opposed to them actually thinking it’ll change. But you are correct of course, there’s no precedent for it turning around or any evidence to suggest it will. Otherwise it is just exhausting the ongoing division between the fans. I am personally sick of, whilst not directly, being called an entitled 2016 supporter because I am unhappy with the ownership. The accusations that because we are pissed off at what we are seeing, this somehow means we think we should be winning the PL and being in the CL every season. Complete nonsense and completely toxic by those who claim not to be. This is why I personally react to people sometimes, only on here, but then you get blamed for being toxic and round and round we go. It is also really annoying how they accuse us of being toxic and not being able to hold a debate. And yet there are a couple of examples within this thread where I have tried to engage politely with respectful debate with these posters and you never get a response. To me this seems that they actually only want to engage in the argumentative, toxic exchanges and not in genuine debate. So who is actually toxic? Thats the question.
  8. Was going to post this. An example of our streets not being safe indeed…
  9. It doesn’t need to be fan owned or local consortium. The want the club back refers to culture and I do think you know this. I don’t know how long you have supported this club but for me, Leicester is about having players that even if not the most talented, put in the effort. It’s about finding gems in the transfer market and developing them. It’s playing football that gets fans engaged and off their seats whether that’s quick transitions or defensive steel. What it isn’t to me is; - Spending stupid amounts of money on mercenaries who don’t want to be at the club. - Using agencies to do our business as we are too lazy to do any real scouting. - Non existent fitness department leading to being bottom of the rankings for distance covered and springs, evidencing we were the laziest and unfittest side (playing clearly blowing in the first half evidence this as well). - Being in a constant cycle of financial bother with punishments hanging over us like a cloud. - Lack of accountability for any of the above and lack of communication from the club regarding anything. That’s clearly what people are referring to when ‘wanting Leicester back’. The irony being, we get insults chucked at us about being entitled and must have supported since 2016 etc and expect to be in the CL every year etc etc and all that nonsense. When the reality is, whatever division we are in, if we weren’t doing what I have listed in the bullet points above and did do what I put in the paragraph above that, we’d be happy as it would feel like the club we know and can relate to.
  10. This is fair enough. It would help from your point of view though, to acknowledge (which maybe you have elsewhere) that it does most definitely work both ways and that those blindly backing the ownership have been very toxic in their attitude towards those who don’t. Acknowledging it both ways shows true balance in opinion and that you genuinely think the divide is down to both sides of the argument and not a result of just one of those arguments. As I said in an above quote to you, I can see you are aligned with the view regarding the ownership which is great. But it does seem you put the fan divide issue at the fault of those calling for change and not those who aren’t.
  11. I think the overwhelming evidence is it will be a poor appointment that will either not see out the season or if it does, it’s more of a Rodgers, Aiyawatt digging in and not sacking him when he should. But you can look and see where there might be small things that could be positive. End of the day, these will either be proven right or wrong very quickly based on team selections and performances early on. Anyway, the positivity police are out in force so got to find something to avoid being nicked
  12. It sounds like he has done well with promoting youth which we need. It’s also been mentioned he is alright in the transfer market but I’m not sure how much of that we will see here as that is managed by Rudkin…. I see people have also used the argument that MK Dons were promoted after he has moved to Swansea against him. Without knowing the detail, I.e were they completely terrible and then become great, it seems a bit harsh as it would be like saying how did Pearson have Leicester battling relegation when they won the league the next season. Whereas we know he built the squad and it clicked that season. Is Martin a builder type as well?
  13. I am very much KP out. I see enough from your posts where you state you want them out also that I know you are an ally in terms of sharing the same views on what the clubs needs. What does need to be clear is there are no ‘former’ fans on here. Anyone posting on here cares about the club or why bother being on here right? And hate for the club. No not hate for the club but maybe its current iteration? There are a couple of posters who I presume you are referring to who make comments about wanting us to go into administration etc. Again, don’t take that as actively wanting us to. It is a forum and people say things for effect sometimes. Or likely they have got to a point where they see no other way this ends and just want the club back to what we used to know sooner. Myself, I think it does end that way as well but hold out hope we can move forward by Aiyawatt selling us and avoiding the indignity of administration and continue to want us to win every game we compete in. As for abuse. I think it’s very unfair to blame that just on the ‘KP out’ side. I hate using the word sides by the way but it has become such a divide it is the only appropriate term. All this started with a growing number of fans voicing dissatisfaction against the running of the club whether that is in the stands or via online channels like this. That is fair and happens at clubs across the country and leagues. We then had an aggressive push back from those who are very much pro the ownership because they can’t detach what happened in 2016 from the decline in recent years basically. That resulted in physical aggression from that side with reported examples from pulling banners off people to actually assault in a couple of cases. I am not aware anyone who is KP out has responded with physical violence? The Unite for Change movement has been clear it is protest before the game (or after) and support in the ground. But those taking part get demonised as you put it despite going into the ground and supporting. As a fanbase, what do we do?
  14. This forum is actually up there with the best and visiting guests of other clubs have said as much. Many clubs forums are toxic cesspits to the point a supporter of another club gets dogs abuse for even bothering to post. Even those with the strongest views against the ownership and running of the club (I’d class myself as one of them) can have a rant about this and jump on another thread and have a good old debate about footballing matters or otherwise. Id say it’s also unfair to suggest Foxes Talk contains supporters who are not level headed. Compared to who? Those in the ground? Those on Facebook? Most of these can’t even reply to explain why they think things at the club don’t need to change. You can question the repetitive nature of what is said on this forum sure. But the fact is, those debating it on here do just that, debate and have arguments and points to back up their opinions. Respectfully, if you don’t think debate happens and it is not a level headed place of discussion, it seems maybe you just don’t like the conclusions of the discussion maybe?
  15. What the f*** has politics got to do with whether you think Leicester are being run into the ground or that Martin is a crap choice for manager? I think Aiyawatt is the worst owner in English football and needs to foxtrot Oscar. I also think Rudkin should be nowhere near a professional football club. I think Martin is a fraud of a manager and will fail here (not what I want, what I think). I also think Reform and every one of their voters are Neanderthals. So you don’t really have a point do you?
  16. Sick how some people (right wingers) always want to make it about politics. On the incident, a couple of thoughts as a parent of a 3 year old, who have annual membership to a local wildlife attraction which has crocs. Whilst it must be a difficult job to care for someone with severe mental health issues, and fair play to those who do it, the carer needs to be investigated for their part in this. It may not have been deliberate negligence but end of the day, they have not done their job properly. We all make mistakes at work but theirs has resulted in a 3 year old child being thrown into crocodiles. It is surreal to even say. My nephew actually got pulled off a swing a bit ago by someone like this (completely different level of incident of course) and my parents who had him at the time said the carer was sat on their phone not paying attention so there are negligent carers out there. The individual themselves. They may not be inherently evil be we don’t know the extent of the mental condition/disability. But, end of the day, that is not everyone else’s problem and they are clearly not safe to be in public. Even if you couldn’t have someone like this in a mainstream prison, they should be kept in a secure hospital/institution.
  17. BBC stating Reform lead opinion polls. Their boys took a hell of a beating last night and they are trying to justify it Hopefully it shows that the support Reform had in the local elections was showing that it was people protest voting really wanting reform from the serious parties rather than Reform UK.
  18. I did, very good post by @ALC Fox actually. As is the point he makes, it’s not negativity for the sake of it, we as fans know something good when we see it. But we are being served up shit after shit and are expected by the ownership to not say anything because of what happened 19 years ago essentially.
  19. The fans just need something to get behind and be positive about. The ownership/board ultimately have full control over the club. The players/manager can impact what happens on the pitch, basics of effort etc. All have a level of control to influence what is then delivered to the fans. Fans are powerless. I know we like to say if we get behind them it will make all the difference and in principle yet. But we’ve seen it doesn’t really work with the type of players we sign. And it’s a limited power available anyway. I’m not saying I agree with it being toxic. But also it’s a forum so people are just venting. As I say, the sooner we can have something to grasp from the club, something positive to work with the better.
  20. Bodes well. It was only due to the kick off time and wanting to go to bed I turned off. Very much an early to bed and early up kind of person! It wasn’t bad first half. I thought we looked pretty good at playing through the lines but a bit dicey at the back and a bit wasteful at the other end. Croatia are a strong side though and it sets us up to go 9/9 baring any cock ups. I guess Ghana could spring a surprise on their day.
  21. Only watched the first half (I had convinced myself I wouldn’t watch any to be fair) and wasn’t too impressed given the putting ourselves under pressure at the back. I also thought Madueke was wasteful when given the chance. Kane was good with his link up play. I guess it improved further second half anyway? Good to see us score 4 though. It’s the first I have watched England at all since the final against Spain in 2024. Seems less names than in the past and more based on club performance? That said when was the last time we scored 4 and the scorers were all playing for major European team and not in the PL!
  22. I only watched the first half and agree entirely I wondered what the fuss was about but presumably it improved second half.
  23. More the hoops put in place for match day tickets. As you say, if there is a cap on season tickets it is to allow for a percentage to be match day tickets. But there has been many conversations on here a bit about about how they seemed to choose empty seats (not that many when things were going well of course) rather than open up to general sale. It took a campaign by the Foxes Trust to get them to do it. Wasn’t it the Maresca Championship season they put a couple of games on general sale? Obviously it has changed the past couple of years as people have got fed up and the crowds have dropped so they have now started desperately trying to get people back. I remember calling it a couple of years ago it’d happen. Most kids are introduced by attending a matches adhoc not straight into season tickets.
  24. Leeds looking very very silly here and should be told to stop wasting everyone’s time. As said, they’d have gone down anyway. If the £2 mill or whatever for finishing 18th not 19th means that much to them, just give it them so they can stop crying about it. As for the 23/24 promotion season, it made zero difference. Anyway, had they gone up that season rather than us, they have just come down with Southampton and Ipswich. The year after (season just finished) there were established teams ready to implode like Wolves and West Ham so they benefitted from going up a year later both in terms of their own being ready and a more competitive relegation battle.
  25. I agree, I was just giving a balanced reply to Hackney. I think if he had shown signs of change at Rangers then maybe but it sounds like he doubled down. And it feels he has full support of the club itself to play as he has been known for. It’ll likely undo any positives he might bring with youth development for example. We bloody need it to work. This decline is so deep now we need something to just click and fall into place even if it is by luck more than judgement….
