  1. We really don’t (2 starting CBs). This would mean Nelson’s progress is blocked. He should 100% be starting. Someone to go alongside him if we can shift enough of the other 5 CB’s on the books yes.
  2. It’s amazing that two actors have gone in and have managed to do a better job of running a football club than a ‘so called’ businessman. Im sure Ryan and Rob do have a vested interest in their own publicity but you can’t deny they genuinely care deeply and have ingrained themselves into the community there. And such a simple formula. They don’t know the ins and out so brought in people who do (Shaun Harvey on the football side and Fleur Robinson on the business side). Imagine if Top could let his ego allow him to do this. People will say they have outspent their competitors but you don’t get 3 (nearly) consecutive promotions without doing so wisely. And they have absolutely exploited things commercially to bring revenue into the club. What did we do when we peaked? A trip to America and Slimani through the door….
  3. Yeah that’s fair. A level down from the other two where they are physically destroying the possible existence of the club but have ripped the heart and the culture away whilst overseeing a bit on field decline.
  4. Sheffield Wednesday and Reading. I struggle to think of any more. I’d definitely put us in third.
  5. Let’s be honest, there is no appointment that will be great because whoever comes in has both hands tied behind their back by the incompetence above. We need someone who can effectively run the club as well as manage it like Nigel did. He did the job of DoF as well as manager and held Vichai and Top’s hands through it all and made them look good. Im not sure where we find that again so we might get someone who gets us promoted, or playing a way that fans like but it won’t be long term sustainable. In normal circumstances, the Carsley shout would be a good one but he is inexperienced so would need a DoF working above him which we don’t have in reality, only in name. I’d be inclined towards Rohl if we could purely because he is working for one of the two clubs I would say are worse run than us (Reading being the other) in the EFL and has done a very good job considering. But even then, Wednesday fans have some criticisms such as signings. Based on above, we are probably finding that signings will be driven by the manager so if Rohl doesn’t have a good eye in this sense, maybe not. So yeah, no idea but massively deflated about whoever it is already because they have an unrealistic job on their hands.
  6. Yeah I realise it is sometimes just how it came come across, particularly when in a debate with another poster. I reckon Thomas has a better head on him and seems more willing to work hard. As I said above, he has also shown he can stand up to world class players on his day which is why I have always just had a feeling, that is he could sort his head (confidence) out, the potential is there to be at least a solid player at PL level, not top end or anything. I might be wrong and it could be similar to a lower league player upping his game in a big FA tie. I have never minded VK and feel he was also written off very quickly, must be a thing about left backs with these two and Chilwell before! Wasn’t there an issue with VK clashing with players in the squad who were pally with Thomas when he joined? I wonder if one of them needs to move on if there’s history.
  7. Obviously the timing of your post was a couple of weeks ago which is fair enough. I think my issue is sometimes, and it comes across like it on your last line of this post, that people want these players to fail as their mind has been made up and want to say I told you so. I would hope that if he has a great season next season you will genuinely be pleased and be able to acknowledge this. I’ve said it on this thread already but I think here we have an example of a player who has had the worst development possible since having his debut out of the blue when he was an unknown. Things had gone on the slide under Rodger’s, he then was out the side and didn’t have any ‘developmental’ loans. Sheffield United was a shambles of a loan. They didn’t even play with a natural left back I don’t think and were every bit as bad as we are this season. Middlesbrough you would have expected more but I think by the time he got there, his confidence was through the floor. It’s a nice thought that every player could pull themselves back from this easily but they are only human. For what it’s worth, he seems to have strengthened up more, and he has always shown in the odd performances he has ability so I just hope that being in the side next season, with a new manager who can be a positive influence to him and with teammates with hopefully a better mentality around him, could see him have a delayed chance to properly develop.
  8. I would love the irony if Dave from Birmingham is a Birmingham City fan given their treatment of Eustace and Rowatt. Probably doesn’t support them though as that’d be a spectacular lack of awareness.
  9. Would be a great pick up. Captain material, we may be light in central midfield if we ship a few out and he adds goals and assists. It is an area I think it would be ok to have an older head alongside the younger guys coming through. As opposed to centre back for example where we need to get rid of the ones after their last pay check (Coady and Vestergaard). In general, I think we need to go for younger and hungrier signings this summer but Brownhill would be an exception if we could get him.
  10. Fair enough. I think an issue is, there are many who get angry at even the bit of your post I have put in bold. But yeah, certainly leaving empty seats and taking income away from them. Again, too many that are not going to do that. I think the fan base being so divided ultimately means that there will never be a unified effort and things will continue to get much worse before they get better.
  11. I agree re the van. I think the messages need to be factual about the failings also. But, genuine question, what do you think the answer is? In terms of raising awareness and putting pressure on Top to make changes? I am of the view, I just want to see the changes made. I don’t care if that means KP staying or going. If Top could genuinely learn from it, and right the wrongs then I would be fine with that. But there’s a culture of brushing stuff under the carpet and stamping down on criticism, hence supporter bans and potentially Sky being paid not to talk about it yesterday as examples. If protest, vans and planes (as long as the messages are not personal and are fair and factual), aren’t the answer, how do you get through to them?
  12. The Premier League really is a crap spectacle. How often is there really anything much riding on the final day now? There’s the odd year but mostly things are all wrapped up. You look up and down the EFL and NL and there will be so much excitement and tension at both ends of the tables.
  13. I noticed that on one particular group, the photo with Top laughing has was posted and quite a few commenting saying it could have been taken at any time and has just been posted yesterday to cause a reaction. This is despite the photo having the score…Leicester 0-1 Liverpool, 83 minutes. This is the level of intelligence of these types…..can’t even look at an image properly
  14. Not really. It was only two points, they were top a couple of weeks back and lost 3 on the bounce to Oxford, Millwall and Plymouth before they beat Cardiff so I suspect their fans will be thinking they have chucked it away more so than being done out of promotion.
  15. Far too many don’t seem to think anything is wrong no. If you agree with the cause but not the method, consider why it has come to this. Maybe if so many of our fans weren’t too thick or don’t care, whichever it is, and were at least vocal about it, we might get somewhere. By defending the club at every turn, refusing to admit anything is wrong and turning on the fans who aren’t happy, the KPFC crowd have caused it to get to a point where those who care about the ‘club’ (not King Power) have had to take this action.
  16. All true. Despite how incompetent Top, Rudkin, Cooper/RVN, the players and everyone else within the club have been, I think the fans are ultimately most culpable. If more than a minority had anything about them, the club would be under serious pressure. Its shocking to see people actively attacking articles and posts pointing out the failures and rightfully criticising the club. I can’t see past us being done as a serious and functional football club. It feels the damage is too far routed to recover from. Our only hope is that these people quickly lose interest once it’s not the household names turning up to the KP for them to watch and find other hobbies.
  17. A really good post. Sadly the only bit he is wrong about is the angry fan base!
  18. This is where I am at with Hamza. A good attitude on the pitch and works hard. Good at the level we will be at. Hopefully wages aren’t too bad once reductions take place. But if a decent offer comes, most of them are available. I also agree with your post just above this one other than Soumare who should also be able to move permanently given he will be in his last year as well.
  19. Meanwhile looking on Facebook groups is like reading an article on, say the BBC, going out on the streets in Russia to get their views on Putin.
  20. I’m sure I must be one of the only ones to have never written him off as I have felt his development was shafted by being around a failing side and a failing manager in Rodger’s, before a terrible choice of loan to Sheffield Utd and us not playing with a natural left back last season. I just want to see how he could do, in the Championship, with Mavididi in front of him, having a consistent place in the side and a decent manager. If he was poor then, fair enough.
  21. Of course. That was just the pick of them. I mean fair enough, a lot is people’s opinion, even if it is poorly informed and ignoring what is happening around them. But when people are actively lying to make those angry at the board and ownership seem unreasonable, that just grates on me. Probably just need to care less to be fair.
  22. They didn’t force us to spend £25mill on Skipp, sign Ayew and BDD, offer 3 year contracts to Vestergaard and Ndidi last summer. Or sign Coady and Winks on astronomic wages the summer before….
  23. It pains me to say it but whilst it is natural to want the team to win, and next season to go up, I think the future is now bleak for the club regardless. If we go straight back up, no lessons will be learned. Top will lap it up, do the same things over and over, we will continue to break financial rules and have a zombified fan base who worship the ground he walks on. If we don’t go back up, and even if, whether next season or in the years that follow like 2004-08, we end up back in League 1 or even lower, people might start to wake up to it. And the club would likely see the necessary changes made but the uphill struggle to get back to even there we will be next season would be massive. Winning the League and cup was the best and worst thing to happen. You wouldn’t swap those experiences and the trophies in the cabinet. But it has given Top the belief he is untouchable and can do what he wants and the KPFC zombies/cult the belief that he is entitled to.
  24. When you have hangers on like this one on the MOTD FB post about it, literally mailing up their own history from a time they likely didn’t even follow us, what hope do we have? As a Leicester season ticket holder I’m appalled Yes things need to change but disrespecting our owners that saved the club from liquidation n won the premier league Yes we are all hurting but this is just wrong In what world did KP save us from liquidation? Seriously thick people out there.
  25. Wycombe have Charlton (4th) and Stockport (5th) and Leyton Orient (6th) to play. Wrexham also have Charlton to play. It will be an intriguing and tight final few games and Charlton could even do it given the form they are on and playing both of those immediately above. Either way, with the playoffs as well, there’s a good chance we will be facing Wrexham, Stockport or Leyton Orient (maybe 2 if Wrexham got autos). A stark reminder that we will be playing a league games against a side(s) who were in the non-league as recently as Rodger’s was at this club in all 3 of those clubs cases. But this is all ok of course and should be in line with our expectations.
