  1. There’s been no time in our 142 year history when relegation to the 4th tier would be even a possibility. Relegation to the 3rd tier is barely conceivable given we have been a mainstay in the top 2 tiers and barely in the bottom half of the 2nd tier in that time. But now many of us are resigned to it. I’d actually be really shocked if we got promoted next season but not at all surprised if we got relegated, genuinely. I suppose the more likely scenario is lower mid-table. To be fair, I have made a serious of what I thought were negative predictions when it comes to us as even what seem like negative outlooks at the time end up looking overly positive when reality actually kicks in!
  2. Matlock Town did similar with Adam Clayton I think (sack and reinstated). But that’s probably the level we are currently working at so carry on
  3. We were going to be better than relegation this season too…..
  4. Not sure I agree. He’s at least 2 years off being given a sniff here. He won’t get Liverpool’s first team quickly but he could go there and get loan experience at a higher level than we are currently playing. Or even a loan to League 1 or 2 would be better for his development than playing kids football for that time with us. Normally I’d say it’s about money and agree with you. But anyone with any sense should sadly be looking to get away from us. We’re not a normal EFL club where many players benefit from getting that early experience/development.
  5. Who said we should have a team made up of 15/17 year olds? The fact is, we barely gave them a chance. Aluko, Page and Monga. We chose to play a crocked Ricardo, Mavididi and Bobby Reid. And we got relegated anyway without our youngsters having been integrated properly into the team. We are now in the third division, in financial turmoil without having shown a strong pathway. It’s the worst of both worlds. But yes, anyone who is not happy and calls this out should go and support another club so that cult leader Aiyawatt can keep his loyal followers.
  6. Oh yeah funny. I would consider it to be more odd not to be angry at the way our club is being run into the ground to be fair but each to their own.
  7. Fair enough. Why would he want to stay?
  8. Engineering is a popular and growing subject at Universities, particularly within home students given the decline from overseas. Speaking from my own experience in the sector, Aerospace and Mechanical are particularly popular subjects with high numbers so you are correct in saying there is so much talent coming through in these areas that can achieve this.
  9. Everyone needs to find someone who looks at them the way that boy looks at Vardy
  10. Could have altered the fact we have been relegated to League 1 with no expectation that we will be back up any time soon though
  11. @spacemunky approves this message
  12. How do they hit the other car at 130mph+ and able to walk away? Too often in these cases, the innocent party is killed and those responsible, who are a waste of oxygen, walk away….
  13. It’s always an unknown for all the sides coming down but the 3 this year look collectively way ahead of us, Southampton and Ipswich. I agree though. Even Burnley, just because they have bounced up and down, doesn’t mean they will again. Norwich being the prime example, But I do think Wolves could do well. They were such record breaking levels of bad in the first half of the season, since the New Year, they’ve actually been alright I think? But otherwise, if you’re looking past the 3 who have just come down, you would look at sides who came down before and still have an edge. But Southampton are in a mess hence the original post and we are already flushed out the other end and on the way to League 2. So like you say, Wrexham? Birmingham if they get rid of the fraud Davies? Sheffield United are a mess. Norwich maybe. I can’t see the sides who came up from league 1 doing much of note. Bolton will need to settle back it (kind of like Charlton), Cardiff are still crap and Lincoln are probably still rubbing their eyes! Then you have perennial failures like Blackburn, Middlesbrough, Bristol City, QPR, Stoke etc.
  14. Wow Southampton could be in bother in the next couple of years. I really can’t see past Wolves, West Ham and Burnley to go back up. Wolves have been aware for a while and have a manager in place who will do well. Burnley are specialists but at some point yo-yoing you can become unstuck I guess. And West Ham feels quite like when Newcastle came down a couple of times and went straight back. I doubt the 4 point deduction will cause them to go down like it would still have for us as we are next level incompetent. But if this financial stuff results in any further deductions next season they could go down.
  15. Maybe everyone who has received these emails should tank the clubs rating on review sites such as trust pilot? https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.lcfc.com
  16. Worst bit is looking at those graphics and thinking will be be relegated or managed the heady heights of 15th….
  17. Nelson linked with a move to Man Utd. He won’t play there immediately of course (maybe never would) but the link is not surprising given he’s a young player who can be picked up for peanuts, developed and if he doesn’t make it, they will make a decent profit.
  18. We’ll be lucky if we’re only getting beaten by Coalville in the cup not the league in coming years….
  19. It’s an unpopular opinion for many people who put him on a pedestal but I agree and have said the same many times. Winks as well. The other signings have offered on the pitch and not been ‘bad eggs’ like Winks is. Even the signings that were good (Fatawu/Hermansen) or good for a spell (Mavididi) failed to address a couple of key areas, fragile mentality and leaders. Its one of those where with unpopular managers, the good must have been the club or someone else and the bad must have been the manager whereas with Enzo, he gets credit for the good but people won’t attach the negatives to him.
  20. Oh I think you’re right about the English sides. You’ve got a newly promoted Sunderland, Palace who are likely to fall away when Glasner leaves and Bournemouth who play their homes games on the beach! Joking about Bournemouth of course who have done very well but also losing Iraola and likely some key players again. You can’t see them being a threat like an Emery led Villa were this season or even Spurs last season who for their issues, are still a side who have been in the CL a lot in recent history. But yeah, the entrants to the Europa League from the other major European leagues, particularly Italy, look quite trough actually!
  21. Juventus, Milan, Marseille and Bayer Leverkusen to be fair. And next rung down, Rennes, Celta Vigo, Real Sociedad. It makes for a strong knock out round even though the group phase will still be made up of smaller sides from more provincial European leagues. If the quarter finals were the first 4 listed and another 4 from the 3 listed after and the PL 3, I don’t think people would be saying it’s an easier competition etc.
  22. Well who needs Forest anyway when we can look forward to crossing the other side of the Trent! Or Derby when we can go the other way off the A50 and head to Burton. And going east on the A47 to Peterborough is definitely an improvement on west on the M69 anyway. Shame about Northampton mind.
  23. Still blows my mind we extended Vestergaard! You’re right there are more on the horizon. And that others like Coady and Soumare who have already gone are not listed here as they didn’t leave for ‘free’ but were a financial loss. I reckon Faes will be the latter and we will get something, maybe Mavididi too. Unsure on Skipp and Kristiansen. We will definitely make a loss but whether they go for free or we recoup something. Oh Winks might get a small amount. Or I doubt he will be with us in League 1. Amartey was an ok utility player, just that we were operating at a higher level than his ability at the time. £5 mill wasn’t excessive but surely we could have recouped some of that. I wouldn’t really count Evans though. It was a small fee for an experienced player. We knew we were paying for what we were getting (and we did get our monies worth from him) and it was not a signing to make profit on.
  24. Oh no, we were mathematically out of the race to finish 22nd before the final day
  25. It does look like there are weaker teams in this tournament particularly. But let’s not forget we got to play Randers, and lost to Zorya Ludhansk and went out the Europa in the first season to Slavia Prague before finishing behind Spartak Moscow in the group the next season. Not Rangers, Sparta Prague and CSKA Moscow. We played poor sides that in the latter two cases aren’t even the best sides in their cities in sub-par European leagues. The other PL sides are dispatching the dross that is the main difference. Villa beat Lille (3rd in Ligue 1) and Bologna (finished 8th in Serie A but a solid top half side who were in the CL recently) so hardly minnows. I get that yes, people will point to the relative level of those two examples being similar to perhaps PSV and Roma in the Conference League.
