  1. I think this is Forest’s advantage. The other play each other whilst Forest have at least two bankers, at home to us and Brentford. I also think they will turn Chelsea over at home on the last day.
  2. No point in flogging these. We will only need to replace them. It is wages that kill us. Getting the likes of Ward and Vardy gone for starters will be good. Even if we send a couple on loan to save wages. If we sell Nelson to get a few mill profit to fund the wages of Vestergaard, Coady, Ndidi and Winks the club needs to be wound up I would rather us get a points deduction and get our shit straight until we can have a better clear out next summer. I can’t believe people get misty eyed over Maresca when he has just contributed to making this situation last longer with Winks and Coady as well as new deals for Vestergaard and Ndidi that he presumably green lighted before he left!
  3. Chelsea are just an absolute waste of a football club aren’t they? Pointless.
  4. Come on Chelsea! Glad Wolves are winning.
  5. It feels like Brighton could be in trouble in the next couple of years. They have probably peaked and seem to be getting stale that we know all about. It wouldn’t be surprising to see them as the closest challengers to the promoted sides at the bottom next season (though it will be the promoted 3 that go back down of course).
  6. How did that not get given at a penalty on McAteer with the one they got? Literally not trying to play the ball and just pushes McAteer over with both hands!
  7. Good luck with this…. Sheffield United have never won promotion via the play-offs Believe it or not, Sheffield United have never gone up through the play-offs, be it in the Championship or in League One, losing in all eight attempts.
  8. Probably the best thing for both Faes (and his agent) and the club is if this knock carries on for a few weeks. We get to move on from him whilst he can save face from not being in the team. His agent will then need to encourage potential suitors that he can offer them something. He seems to manage to hold a reputation above his ability so fingers crossed!
  9. I definitely think it is more about the outgoings. I really don’t think we need much in terms of incomings, but they need to be targeted and the right positions, none of this wasting money on positions we don’t need, and the right mentality. GK Stolarcryk New Youth GK as third choice Sell Hemansen, release Iverson ans chase Ward the f*** out the door! RB Coulibaly Aluko Sell JJ for whatever we can get. Unsure what will happen with Ricardo. CB Nelson Okoli Souttar Ideally rid of Faes, Vestergaard and Coady but probably unrealistic so I’d take two of the three going if one was definitely Faes. Probably rather keep Coady as fourth choice over Vestergaard. Four should be enough, extra numbers to come from the youth teams unless there is a good deal on a prospect for the future to bring in. LB Key position of focus. Sell Kristiansen. Thomas, sell if a deal is worth it. But we need two for that position and I’m not keen on the right footers square legs so happy to bring a new face in and have Thomas stay. See how he does in the last year of his contract. CM Skipp - will stay as he will be to expensive to move on. Cartwright I move the rest on, Soumare, Ndidi, Winks. There’s Choudhury too, who I think would be good at this level so would be ok him being in the squad. Probably Braybrooke too as he is unlikely to make it but he deserves to play. I would encourage offers for all these and see where we are. We could definitely need a more forward thinking partner, who offers goals and assists to partner Skipp, basically like KDH. Could Bilal even play further back? RW Fatawu Evans CAM Bilal LW Mavididi Alves Unknowns are Monga and Bilal staying as well as of Alves can play as well down the middle. If the answer to all is yes, I think you move Alves central with Bilal and Monga on the left in terms of having two for each position. As above, if Bilal could be more a central midfielder, that could address that issue but we would need a new number 10 type. ST start again I guess. Vardy needs to go sadly, his wages are a burden and he isn’t offering enough on or off the pitch. Daka, if we can make money (PSR profit not on his original value), move him on. That could leave us needing: 1 x GK 1 x LB 1 x CM (forward thinking with G & A’s) - could need another for this position subject to outgoings 1/2 x ST (depends if Daka goes) Really not that much when you look at it. When you map possible starting 11, there aren’t many holes. Stolarcryk Coulibaly/Ricardo Nelson Okoli Thomas? Skipp New - or Bilal? Fatawu Bilal - Alves if Bilal drops back Mavididi New
  10. We won’t be signing Josh Sargent and I don’t think we should. He screams (to me) good in spells in the Championship but that being his limit. Anyway, he has a contract to 2028. Transfer Market values him at £15mill. I can’t see us forking that out.
  11. Whoosh . You’ve had a mare there
  12. Call me old fashioned but at full back, I just feel that right footer on the right, left on the left. Justin is a square peg there and been poor for so long. I’d move him on. On the left, I’d move VK on and if a decent offer comes for Thomas, accept as he’ll leave on a free next year. If not, keep him and bring another natural left footer. Coulibaly & Aluko RB Thomas & new - LB Unsure what will happen with Ricardo.
  13. F*** off Okoli! Save it for next season!
  14. Soft of not, surely we just want Brighton to win at this point!
  15. I’d be inclined to say that a young player, coming back from an awful injury and so long out, to go into the Championship for his first senior minutes and make the impact he has, suggest to me that his ability ceiling is most definitely much higher. Obviously it takes good timing and the right breaks as well (so let’s keep Caden Voice away).
  16. I watched a bit of the video on the new manager thread and that was the bit that stood out to me actually. I do think he is cut from the Brendan cloth the way he talks and I have massive concerns over the style. But, when he talked about the remit working with Jason Wilcox to bring youth through, I did wonder whether he might be a good fit. And I hate myself for saying that.
  17. Yeah, to have had that injury, come back and now in the Championship all whilst that p**** is nowhere to be seen. Hopefully if there is any justice, his career will not get started and he’ll end up in non-league and have to work a normal job which he’d fail at anyway as you can’t behave the way he does in the normal world.
  18. Good luck! We wouldn’t want or need Sa or Johnstone. Stolarcryk would be our first choice next season. We will need another GK in the squad if Hermansen goes as well as Ward and Iverson’s contracts ending. But we should be looking for a younger prospect to back up Stolarcryk. In terms of value, we will no doubt still make a tidy profit given he was bought for only £5mill or something but as had been said, his value will have dipped given his has been poor since injury.
  19. What more can you do than succeed at every level you have managed at though? And where does new blood come from if those working their way up don’t get given a chance at the next level? This is how you end up with so many foreign managers and the merry go round.
  20. Sorry, this idea Marseca ‘would’ have kept us up is delusional. We lost just under 25% of games last season in the Championship. That is huge for a side winning the league. We had a softness to us and we were easy to beat. Plymouth, Bristol City and Millwall found the solution easy enough. Beating Maresca’s Leicester was easy and needed no tactical nouse. Just play the ball into the (Leicester right, your left) channel to someone with pace and you’ll have all the time in the world to pick your spot. Yes we also had a huge win rate and that saw us up. But for a promoted side, it is a lot more likely that the win rate dries up against increased quality opposition whereas the fact we were easy to beat would be exacerbated and exploited further.
  21. I knew you’d be joking about champions league comment. However, as you say, no matter of attacking talent matters if you have a softness but more so, I can’t take a team with Vestergaard, Faes and JJ and anything but relegation seriously basically!
  22. For those who have watched more of the un21’s (as he has been playing in wide positions for Cardiff), what is his potential down the middle, as a number 10? Or would it be putting him out of positon? Just thinking to next season, we have: Fatawu (rw) Evans (rw) Mavididi (lw) Monga (lw)? If he stays of course which might be unlikely. Plus you have BDR and Ayew who shifting one might be realistic but shifting both not so much. And McAteer as well. Could you have…. Mavididi - Alves - Fatawu? Otherwise, and if Monga leaves, Alves and Mavididi become the options on the left. With Fatawu and hopefully Evans on the right. It does feel are currently stocked in the wide positions. As I say, if Monga goes and if any or a combination of McAteer, Ayew and BDR move on, this will decrease. But we aren’t stocked in the central position other than Bilal if he stays. So I wonder whether Alves would make that position his own. It also depends on the manager and whether they play with a number 10 I guess, and whether they give the youngsters players a chance as well.
  23. Good point. Same for Nelson presumably? We play Southampton on the 3rd May which is the final day of the Championship. We then have; Forest (a) Ipswich (h) Bournmouth (a) Definitely worth getting them and continuing with Monga and perhaps give Evans a run and drop those we want out to make a point as well as show the youngsters that next season is theirs!
