  1. It’s not even a few seasons ago. Ayew, BDR, Skipp, Ndidi, Vestergaard - all signed or renewed last summer Winks, Coady summer before That’s an awful lot of our deadwood/high wages knowingly taken on since the first relegation. I could forgive the decisions further back if recent decisions showed any level of learning from these mistakes. Only today we are linked with Oxlade-Chamberlain!
  2. The FA Cup win was what, May 2021. Early that next season, October 2021, I was talking to a Newcastle supporting mate, just after their takeover happened in early October and said to him ‘I hope you take Rodgers off us as we will honestly be relegated inside 3 years if we keep him’. I’m not looking for a well done. I am pointing out that it was obviously where it was heading that soon after the cup win and some of us called it. The biggest shock is it took most people another year to start questioning him! And 3 years was quite a positive outlook in the end. We were actually relegated 18 months after I said that and only 2 years (not 3 as you say) after the cup win.
  3. Just the type of signing Aiyawatt and Rudkin go for, a name who was good a while back who is injury prone, will want high wages and probably lack the motivation of younger players. Fans on the Facebook groups lapping it up as well. The same people who worship Aiyawatt and think he’s doing a great job. Really does show the lack of understanding these people have…
  4. There should definitely be takers for the likes of Faes, VK, Soumare and Daka based on those. As others have said, wages are the issue. Other clubs will fancy some of those prices as they will believe these players can have a fresh start. VK and Soumare had decent to good loans at European sides. Daka showed in a (albeit inferior to the PL) league in Europe that he can do it.
  5. It’s so nice we can all agree on things
  6. I think that is a bit of an odd post to choose to accuse of hyperbole. We have a proven record of wanting someone free with experience. I’m not convinced that Aiyawatt and Rudkin will be particularly aware of Rohl. They will likely not even look at the likes of Sheffield Wednesday for managerial candidates as they think we are above this.
  7. I didn’t say that was the case. I said many of us could see the decline was starting, not that we were actively want/calling for him out. The performances for much of that season weren’t good. The 5th place did flatter us. We had a lot of injuries and had shown mentally we were weak for the second season in a row by bottling the lead we had. It’s not hindsight to say cracks were showing that were papered by the FA Cup win as some of us did think that at the time. Those who dared say anything were verbally attacked on here mind. Yes it escalated by the start of the next season when despite results being steady, performances were getting worse and worse and we became a meme regarding our set play defensive record. But it didn’t just happen overnight if you look deeper than the league position.
  8. I’d have thought we’d be a way down the pecking order. Would the promoted clubs be in for him? Even out of the relegated 3, Ipswich with Delap having done and Southampton being so close on the south coast both seem more likely attractive options for him. Would be a good option if it could happen though.
  9. A little deluded Forest gem here! They are talking about Newcastle’s interest in Elanga and who they could have from them instead. I don’t know which is the funnier part, that they think Harvey would consider them or that they think Elanga is actually fit to clean Harvey’s boots let alone worth £25/30mill more Red1865 Youth Team Harvey Barnes if we could get him + 25-30m
  10. This is what stops me judging Spurs for this decision. A club and its fans know best and outsiders aren’t always best placed to judge. I was going to make the same point about Rodgers. We could see it was starting to decline but that FA Cup win bought him all that extra time. I don’t know if at any stage, Aiyawatt was worried about the Ranieri type backlash back in 2017. Probably not as that would require him to actually think.
  11. So has Luke Thomas to be fair!
  12. Can’t believe some are saying Ange with a straight face The guy just won the Europa League and qualified for the Champions League. We are heading the way of Sheffield Wednesday!
  13. I wasn’t keen on Maresca in terms of the slow crab ball but you had to be grateful for at least gaining promotion. However, any goodwill towards him, as far as I am concerned, disappeared when he left a new contract for this waste of space as his parting gift…..
  14. Probably shouldn’t have said just. I meant that the clubs seem to be decently ran, the fans are happy. But you have what they stand for, I.e the moral side, which I wouldn’t want associating with.
  15. To be fair I said have a reputation of. I am of the belief that whilst there are a number of them (Birmingham owner talking about domestic cup games in America and the super league lot), that are like this, I do think there are plenty of good ones.
  16. I don’t honestly know where it is best to want new owners from. Americans have the reputation of wanting to ‘Americanise’ the sport, play games abroad, revenue revenue revenue etc. South-East (well south in general) Asian owners have proven themselves to be incompetent and in contempt of our communities and culture (see Chansiri, Vincent Tan, Dai Yongee, Venky’s, Aiyawatt and to a lesser extent Fosun who Wolves fans are turning against). I can’t think of a good owner from this area of the world. Arab owners there is just the moral side even though they do run their clubs well. Russian - absolutely not. You just hope to find good individuals and I would still take our chances at finding an American owner who will not tear the club apart.
  17. Good work by both Derby and Oxford to simultaneously both get relegated and survive! Schrodingers season?
  18. People obviously still want to support the team. Although the types of replies telling people to go and support another team because they are unhappy about how we are being run are pathetic. There are other ways such as stopping buying the crap merchandise in the store, don’t buy the food and drink in the ground and programmes etc. If all the additional sales of things like this plummeted, it would send a message. But no doubt the people who love Aiyawatt and what he is doing to the club will go and chuck money at all this too to feed the machine!
  19. Straight out of the Chansiri playbook if so….
  20. Harry Darling going there as well. I’d have expected him to be looking for a bigger move having ran down his contract at Swansea but played under Manning at ML I think. Good signing for them and one I hoped we’d go for. Norwich might be ones to watch.
  21. Yep. I believe that a lot of the people who defended Rodgers time and time are the same as those defending Aiyawatt now. Whereas definitely, those who were quick to see the downturn under Rodgers are the ones to see the way the club is heading now. It’s clear which people actually have a clue and we were proven right with Rodgers (I think by the time he went it was quite unanimous) and we will be proven right again. Wednesday with a transfer embargo today. Like looking into the future….
  22. I agree, we just need to do our bit to try and force change but ultimately I think we will need to see things get worse before they get better.
  23. I’m sure he’ll drop his wage demands to secure a move then! No, I thought not…
  24. I’m starting to feel concerned we could be heading in the direction of Sheffield Wednesday. They had a bright spell under Chansiri when they made the play offs a couple of times, including the final. From where they had been for the best part of 20 years at that point, that was really good for them. A combination of his incompetence, losing interest and childish attitude and thin skin, he has driven them into the ground. The similarities with Aiyawatt go beyond the nationality. He is also incompetent, clearly uninterested and has a similar thin skin and childish attitude as Chansiri. I would be completely unsurprised if we fall a lot harder and end up in a similar position.
  25. Tries to recover it at the end by saying the reason they are attracted to British football is due to the culture and to Americanise it would ruin that. Oh but let’s move cup games abroad to make more cash! All about revenue revenue revenue. And said in the article like it’s a benefit to fans. No Mr Wagner, it’s just to line your own pockets, fans don’t give a f*** about revenue!!
