  1. In fairness to Carrick, he did his time as an assistant and didn’t jump straight in. I don’t think he’s the right fit for us but he’s probably got a good management career ahead even if he has to take a lower end Championship gig or L1. Lampard also is showing now as Cov than his good jobs have outweighed any bad. The others totally agree.
  2. Ha, I was emphasising my view! Re Ings, he just doesn’t get us back on track. Another player at the end of his career, injury prone and will see us as a lucrative last contract. I just can’t bare to see any more of these types of signings come through the door.
  3. Bet he ends up at Middlesbrough now…
  4. They just need to get over it and scrap the whole thing. It has added nothing. In fairness, I think sister clubs and groups of clubs should be prevented anyway. It’s all just a shambles.
  5. I’m seeing a bit of Phil content coming from others the past few days. This seems like breach of your copyright so I’d be cracking down on that too!
  6. My personal impression living here is that it is United who have the more working class, younger and more passionate fan base. Wednesday tend to be more form the affluent areas and probably a bit more like our own fan base, a bit passive. That’s my impression anyway. Just from the people I know.
  7. Damn. I really wanted us to be in for him but how can we compete with well ran clubs with more ambition like Wrexham and Birmingham!
  8. Where have you seen this or heard this? It doesn't surprise me. A lot of people (on here) have indicated they have given up but that it probably only a small number relatively and I suppose it shows they still have people waiting to step in and buy them…
  9. Rosenior (unrealistic) or Rohl would be excellent. Ancelotti - unknown potential but interesting. Wellens or Cleverley are realistic and whilst not as proven as Rosenior or Rohl, I do have a good feeling about factors they would both bring, preferring youth and not about rigid possession around the back. Any of those 5 would at least give hope and excitement.
  10. It is a really poor reflection on the PL. You have clubs signing players they don’t want and young academy players being traded like they are not people. It is players who are losing out in a way (obviously I’m sure the financial earnings make it all better). The PSR stuff does need to go as clubs are too busy just finding ways around it. That said, we can’t exactly say we are being punished for contracts handed out before it existed. This implies our hands have been tied through no real fault of our own. Even if we go back to the summer of 2022 (when we were definitely aware of PSR), the following have all being signed or given new contracts; Faes Souttar Kristiansen Coady Winks Skipp Ayew BDR Vestergaard Ndidi Choudhury (I think) The only ones you could genuinely make this case for would be Daka and Soumare who were signed the year before. The truth is, the club could easily have navigated PSR becoming properly enforced with sensible decisions over the last couple of years. The business last summer tells us all we need to know. That is why you can both think PSR is a load of crap, that it goes after the wrong teams and even think they are unprofessional in how they are going about trying to get us, whilst also thinking Leicester deserve anything we get.
  11. I meant action to make Chansiri relinquish the club, as opposed to punishments that are ultimately just a detriment to the club and supporters, not the man causing the problems. Their fit and proper owners test is a load of BS when people like him, Dai Yong at Reading and Vincent Tan at Cardiff pass it!
  12. There’s a lot of similarities definitely. Incompetence and contempt for supporters are two. I think Chansiri is more of a gob shite and says stuff in the media whereas Aiyawatt just can’t be arsed to even do that and just never says anything.
  13. What’s that roller coaster at Alton Towers again that when it drops down it heads into darkness and the ride ends…Ah Oblivion that’s the one. Ah what an analogy for Top’s leadership of our club…. And by the way, I might only have supported the club since age 8, just a measly 25 years ago. But having seen administration, crap seasons circling the drain of the Championship, relegation to League 1, being one of very few people at games like the FA cup 1st and 2nd rounds (Dagenham and Stevenage) and the Johnstones Paint Trophy exit to Rotherham at the Don Valley, the first half (to date) of my time supporting Leicester, there was no success in sight. It was disappointment after disappointment. What I mean to say it, you can have supported the club for 25 years not 50, and seen the very lowest point and the very highest. I think that is more than qualified to pass judgement on the inept leadership we are seeing of the club now.
  14. Ok, so anyone under a certain age hasn’t be round long enough to have a clue and should go and support the like of Man U, got it
  15. What a pointless and petty comment. If people cared about winning at all costs they wouldn’t support Leicester in the first place! We support Leicester as we have a connection to the club, from growing up locally or family links. People getting annoyed and disillusioned due to the soul of the club being stripped away and the feeling that the club is pushing loyal supporters away is not a sign of glory supporters. And because you choose to, in your own words, happy clap, it does not make you a superior supporter!
  16. How high do you think Savage jnr from Reading can go? Left footed which I like for balance, like KDH gave us, a good age for improving further at 22 and a decent goal contributions. Probably wouldn’t cost the earth either.
  17. You brought Mandaric up, not me. Clearly you have an axe to grind if you bring him up to draw others into talking about him so you could get that off your chest presumably? And come on, what evidence is there we had the largest budget? We had been out the Premier League a number of years and there would have been teams with parachute payments for a start. Seems like that is rewriting history but if you can point me to the evidence of it I will retract that! You’re even playing down him bringing Pearson in. Shock horror football club bringing in available manager! I bet you don’t see KP bringing in Ranieri in the same way As I say, I haven’t thought about Mandaric for probably 15 years! I don’t care about him either way but it was just responding to your posts and you didn’t even acknowledge any of the rest I said, conveniently. If you want more Chansiri, Dai Yong, Vincent Tan types in our game, that’s your own view I suppose.
  18. Thanks both. You both speak perfect sense of course. Just very frustrating and mortifying. But yeah I know people do these things all the time and I think once the initial hassle, cars going for repair and back in use, I will feel better about it. I think having the car on the drive waiting to go and be fixed doesn’t help as you just see it all the time!
  19. I’m sure they are thankful to reach 40 points every season Thing is, and I know you are fully aware of this and our views on things are pretty aligned. Man City you could forgive for not expected to go down again, or not unless their own ship changes. And not withstanding forced relegation through points deductions due to cheating basically. We know we aren’t Man City. I don’t think any Leicester fan would have seriously said, even at our peak a few years ago, would have expected us never to get relegated again. But this dressing it up as something to be expected in the timeframe in which it happened, and in the way in which is happened through negligence, is something else.
  20. From a wages and injuries perspective, I’d be more than ok (I can bring myself to be happy as he is one of the good ones) to see him move on. He also deserves a new challenge if that is what he wants. We seem to have quite some strength in depth at right back coming through from the academy as well as Justin and Coulibaly so I don’t think we need to recruit to the position.
  21. Before my time (or around the time I was born but not obviously following football). I have heard of Brian Little but not really aware of him in the same was as MON onwards when I was a bit older. So whilst he came from Darlington in what is now L2 to us in the Championship, we had just avoided relegation and hadn’t spent a lot of recent time in the atop flight so I suppose we were a different second tier prospect at that point to now for example. That said, personally I just want someone who brings the right attributes. Playing younger players to use the academic, a hard working squad, not fixated on possession for possessions sake but is adaptable in how to face different challenges. If I could actually pick the new manager, it would still be Wellens as I just have a good feeling about him and what he could bring. It’s not L2 but still someone who has only managed up to L1 level. Unfortunately, when he gets mentioned there are comments about his track record or not having managed at Championship level so I fear you are right. That said, on here anyway, you see a lot of names mentioned who manage overseas so I don’t think our fans are the problem. It is the owner and board having an obsession with ‘PL experience tm’ that is killing us. I think if the club showed a willingness to take a punt on someone from a lower league and demonstrated they had done their due diligence, the fans would probably get behind that. Going back to Little, he obviously did well. Even back then, if it had gone badly, the attitude towards having taken a manager from 2 leagues below might have been different!
  22. I know it was structure and respectful as I am capable of having balanced discussions whilst having my own view on things. I don’t think responding to people saying ‘what a load of shit’ or ‘that’s BS’ really contributes anything. What you are failing to acknowledge with your ‘little old yoyo Leicester’ narrative is that we had never come from a point of such a high and being so established. That and the short time frame I referred to can’t be put down to what is to be expected and no other club would accept this. I also find this argument a bit contradictory when you have said the possibility of us being in L1 in 5 years is a ‘load of shit’. I went back 5 years to 2020 as that is the window forward the other poster referenced. But we were relegated 12 months after a European semi-final, 24 months after FA Cup and Community Shield wins. I find it strange you think this was just to be expected and yet now there is no chance we are in L1 in 5 years. I can only think you are basing this off historical factors (I.e we have yoyo’d a lot throughout history so that is ok but we have only been in L1 once so that can’t possibly happen). This does not take into account how the football landscape has changed. As I said originally, I am not saying we will or won’t be back in L1 inside 5 years. But whilst the initial fall from where we were at was shocking, I don’t think dropping again in the coming years will be. If we don’t, it won’t be through good judgement but sheer luck at the financial barriers. There are a lot of teams coming up now from the leagues below who are well run and well invested in. We are sadly now terribly run and a couple of years of failing to get back up, continuing deterioration of squad quality, loss of parachute payments and possibly factors like points deductions could very well see us slip out of the Championship at the other end as quickly as 2020 turned into 2025…..
  23. Absolutely. That is what I mean to say. The ‘results’ didn’t appear too bad but I remember being very concerned about it so yeah, performances were poor and 8th massively flattered us. It was that time we became a literal meme due to our record defending set pieces as well if I recall.
  24. People still missing that Alves is under contract until 2028! Nelson is more urgent as he has 2 years left. If we can keep him at all, we should be extending him and Stolarcryk. Plus trying to hold onto the younger crop (Evans/Monga). Alves extend next year when he has 2 years left if the season has shown promise.
