  1. I like Thomas and have defended him consistently but a left back from a relegated side with a year left on his contract is not pulling in £10mill.
  2. The irony that they are saying how unintelligent our fan base is based on the away support singing a song that they haven’t even managed to understand the words to As for the cup final stuff. Nonsense. We actually got tithe cup final and won it in recent memory, something they failed to do. After the crap season we have had, it’s just about the fun of sticking it to them and seeing our team actually show some fight was nice.
  3. I was expected a lot more from them to be fair. As I said before, they seemed to be a one trick pony with putting balls into the box. I also expected them to be quite a physically tough side but I was shocked at how soft they were, falling over time and time again when a blue shirt was within a foot or so. I can’t remember if that was a trait of Nuno’s Wolves side or not. The ref was a joke. No big decisions or anything headline making but consistently stopping the game for soft free kicks in their favour whilst constantly ignoring similar level or worse in our favour. I think ‘homer’ would be the term. And not the fault of the linsewomen who was following protocol but I do think this letting play go on when they know it is offside should be looked at. It’s been said before it will result in injuries.
  4. Come off it. We were definitely good value for the draw. Yes we sat back more but we were the away side at a side a lot higher in the league. They had one trick, crosses. And they are very good at them granted, as well as the corner and the Wood one that led to the goals, there were a few more crosses whipped in that I was impressed with. But other than that, a poor team with only one trick. If our useless owner, DoF, manager and players hadn’t sacked the rest of the season off through not giving a shit, that performance and result on itself own was very much deserved and hard earned.
  5. Probably because he had a couple of chances to win it and in his youthful excitement, was disappointed not to have.
  6. Don’t see why not. 16 I think GCSEs are the level of eduction everyone has to get to. I think there was talk of making it 18 but not aware that has happened. 16 year olds can go into work, they can go on apprenticeships. If anything it is odd that the age for a professional contract is 17. Seems neither here nor there as 16 you can go out to work and 18 you are officially an adult.
  7. Yep. I feel for Nuno who seems a decent guy and manager. But f*** them and if this result and reaction from the owner causes them to fall apart it’ll be great!
  8. I might be missing something but why are they saying they have secured Europa League? They are 7th…
  9. Fat Greek is kicking off at Nuno! Nuno needs to watch his back, possible a body guard
  10. Hahaha, ref was willing a win for them, love that result! Could and should have won at the end with the chances we had!
  11. This is a hard watch with Forest throwing themself to the floor every time a blue shirt comes within a couple of meters. It’s football not the f***ing theatre!
  12. Soumare and Buonanotte over Monga and Evans…..
  13. Doesn’t help that the ref is waving away every Forest foul but can’t wait to get the yellow out every time we go near them!
  14. I don’t mind Dyche in how he comes across or even that he isn’t possession based at any cost. I’m sure his Burney side in the Championship were very different to in the Premier League. &nbsp But I just think we need a more long term, forward thinking manager who will relish the opportunity with the youth set up we have to develop players and Dyche doesn’t seem to do this. He also had a record I believe of Brexit squads with little to no recruitment from overseas markets and focused on domestic where we know the value is not always there. It feels lazy and unimaginative. We have seen that just getting back to the PL is not sustainable if you don’t have a set up that can be smart enough to navigate this. We need to think longer term how even if we don’t bounce back first time.
  15. Also given that is referring to the summer after relegation, George Hirst also left to Ipswich for a fee.
  16. Yeah I agree about that. I just think in many cases they are written off quickly, it’s like a self fulfilling prophecy when you decide someone is crap after a couple of games. It sets the tone for their time with us. And then people can’t seem to separate a transfer that doesn’t work for some reason from someone who is stealing a living as a footballer. Daka is one as you also mention strikers. The finishing ability he showed in Austria was so natural. I don’t believe that can be ‘faked’ if you like at a lower level. It is still professional football. I would not be surprised to see him do well when he leaves. It’s odd. But it is what stops me laughing at the idea that certain players are linked to certain players as Moyes for example might get the best out of VK. We don’t know at this point.
  17. It wasn’t a comment on VK specifically (though it is this thread I guess). Just generally, what, 80% the players that come through the club are just called shit despite what they might have shown before joining or after leaving. You had people saying Harvey Barnes was shit FFS. Im suggesting that we seem to have a worse record than many clubs at turning players who were previous good to shit and suddenly they look good again when they leave.
  18. Funny how many players look really good before we sign then, when elsewhere on loan and after they leave….almost like it’s not as simple as all these players being abysmal!
  19. Just from the domestic market, and let’s be honest, expecting our lot to bring in exotic names from abroad is unlikely! My top 5 to bring in would be: Back up GK Names above all good for this, Gunn, Woodman and Forster. Any of them. CB Harry Darling (25) On a free from Swansea. CM Josh Brownhill (29) Free from Burnley. 18 goals from centre mid and second highest scorer in the league. Captain and leader for Burnley. Charlie Savage (22) Left footer so would provide a good balance we had with KDH. 5 goals and 9 assists from centre mid in L1 (9 and 13 in all competitions). 2 years left on contract and wouldn’t cost too much (fee and wages). ST Richard Kone (21) 18 goals for Wycombe. 1 year left so also likely cheap fee and won’t be in high wages. I doubt these will happen. Brownhill might stay on at Burnley for example. Darling might have let his contract expire to get a bigger move to the PL. unfortunately this is where Brentford, Bournemouth, Fulham etc are now more attractive options than us. You’d imagine though you could fit the four outfield players wages into what Vardy is freeing up. And fee wise, only Savage and Kone would have a fee and with 2 and 1 years left respectively and both being in L1 (assuming Wycombe don’t win the playoffs), we would likely get change from £10mill for both. It does also mean moving some out, particularly at centre back and also in centre mid (likely easier to do though. So we will probably miss out on targets.
  20. Where did he get carried away? He didn’t compare talent did he. Spain played him as a 15 year old in the European Championships final FFS. Clearly Yamal is a generational talent but it’s all relative as we aren’t Barca/Spain. The point being, they played a 15 year old as he was good enough relatively for them. We will be in the Championship and Monga will be good enough relatively for where we are at. You’re saying a 15 year old should be shoved in the u18’s and not put in the first team. Using Yamal and others like Nwaneri as an example of 15 year olds being blooded is not comparing the players in any way other than age.
  21. Disagree. Now if people were putting him playing 46 games in the starting 11, yes I’d agree. However, Fatawu and Mavididi are first choice so having Evans and Monga getting regular minutes and providing a break/rotation is a good thing. If Monga sees his future as a 10 as was reported, and if Bilal leaves, that is a dilemma as we wouldn’t have a natural first choice 10 like we do on the wings. Anyway, point being, we will be in the Championship, if the likes of Monga and Evans are left in the u18 we will lose them and any credibility we might have of giving young players a chance.
  22. Place of Birth: Leicester Obviously born whilst Robbie was still with us.
  23. I’m still concerned they are going to do it. Let’s be honest, we are still hopeless so it’d be a shock for them not to beat us. They are then playing probably the worst two managers in the league in Potter and Maresca in terms of playing into their hands. Neither of them will let their ego realise that those who have got the beating of Forest recently sit back and let them have more of the ball and avoid getting picked off on the break.
  24. At least BDR has no book value. Perhaps Bristol City if they go up would bring him home!
  25. If he stays and wants to be a number 10, that’s great as we do seem more stocked in the wider areas. R - Fatawu / Evans C - Bilal / Monga L - Mavididi / Alves Obviously there are questions over the futures of Monga, Evans and Bilal but imagine that 6 as our options!
