Leicester 0-2 Blackburn POST MATCH THREAD
Filbert Fireworks replied to Muzzy_no7's topic in Leicester City Forum
That was a really bad watch. Not just a loss but a really bad performance. Our players have zero confidence and just don't look like a team playing for each other. -
No we lost to both hull and Millwall the year we won the championship. Have an easier run coming up now. We're miles off being relegation candidates.
-
Objectively we set a new premier league record for successive losses last season. Plus not scoring at home. We then lost our talisman Vardy alongside Ndidi, Mavs plus Justin who honestly wasn't much worse than Thomas. A number of players not wanting to stay but did. Financial trouble with the league. Only managed a couple of loans in the window. Absolutely nothing at all there to suggest we should be top of the championship. Our squad isn't good enough. We can't control games like we could last time. We also haven't got a striker. 1goal in 14 games from our striker options. We have played really well for spells and today we didn't play terribly. Both this week and last week were pushing for a goal at the end and had some (not enough but some) genuine chances. Thomas just isn't good enough but neither is VK so what do you do? Monga is starting he's 16. Silko came on but people still scream for the acedemy. Ramsey has been our best player last 2 games he's started and scored in both until the injury today. JJ has also been fairly decent so Marti can pick a player on a budget. I agree we should have turned some of those draws into victories but we can't have an overall poor squad with a handful of good players and then berate Marti when we don't win away from home at the Den. When exactly have we done well there before. The issues leading up to now lie squarely with Top, Rudkin and the board. Thinking the manager is the issue here and it will be a different outcome if only it was Dyche (Dyche honestly) etc is wishful thinking. Leicester - the established premier league, european playing team is dead. The odd player we have left from that era were bench fodder at best. Hamza, Thomas. Ricardo (last one left but over the hill and wounded) The revival is going to take time and patience and saying marti out after 12 or whatever games isn't helpful at all. We have to accept the new reality. Our squad sits somewhere between mid table and the play off's of the championship.

Picked the best 11 at his disposal today. Ayew or Daka can't really bemoan Ayew over Daka too much. Get he picked a duff side on Tuesday but can't play the same 11 when playing twice a week and pretty logical to prioritise an away game at the den over Hull who we would have got points from minus the crossbar. Everyone crying for the acedemy. On the bench sure but bit unfair to throw page into the mix when he's developing well but was struggling in the games he was started for. The squad are just a bit rubbish so let's not beat the manager up for rudkins mistakes. -
Millwall (A) 15:00 Sat 25th, Pre-Match
Filbert Fireworks replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
I'm actually slightly optimistic. Ramsey will probably be ready for 90mins again. Ricardo too. James has another week under his belt of fitness he's ok untill his steam runs out. Soumare who clearly drags the team down should be back on the bench. Marti made the fatal mistake of starting farce and Bouba in the same 11 which rots the spine of the team. Millwall have only scored 13 goals in 11 games although in a patch of form. Think we can turn it around with the regular starting 11. -
Actually preferred it when we benched the entitled ones for Page etc. Yes they struggled but it was easy to get behind them at that point. Just can't bring myself to get behind soumare faes etc
-
The squads more toxic than chenobyl after the fallout.
-
Yeah we were struggling under Cooper but it was a premature sacking that backfired massively.

Cifuentes isn't the problem. He has been very reflexive and not scared of changing the line up. Have to rotate players when your playing twice in a week. Against Hull it didn't work out because the back up ie soumare, hamza, Daka just aren't good enough. Faes is a bomscare so got that call wrong. Its not an easy league our squad is weaker than last team. Maybe a bit of a reality check as to our actual ability and status is needed. Its a disjointed squad with several players with poor attitudes just off the back of the worst losing streak in Premier league history. Think we've all become a bit too entitled. The fall has been hard and painful but the squad that brought us success is long gone. Just Ricky Left. Hamza doesn't count as was always a bench player.

Oh just seen the James sub. Honestly soumare still on what the hell is that about. -

I think he's been massively let down today by players like Soumare and Faes who have name recognition and really should be up to the job but simply aren't good enough and I imagine he's feeling incredibly frustrated. Up to today we have only conceded goals from individual errors. The players being rotated in just aren't good enough. Ramsey, Ricardo, Monga, probably all needed a rest after Saturday. -

Well that was shockingly bad especially after bottling it on Saturday. We have a squad of absolute duds. Never recovered from the: Daka soumare faes transfer window. Brogers saying he wanted to freshen the squad with proven winners. Faes and Soumare just need their contracts terminating at this point. Defence is even worse since farce came in and soumare simply cannot play in a double pivot. Doesn't track back. -

It always turns into this dross when Faes and Soumare are in the same starting 11. We never look anywhere near it when they are playing together. Neither have enough positional awareness. Soumare doesn't track back and Faes has poor situational awareness. It never ever works. Bring back okoli. Faes soumare Daka the Bermuda triangle of football. -
I like Thomas he's really likeable but he can't cross, he's lightweight and when you saw that game winning opportunity open up you kind of knew he was going to fluff it. 4 more years.

Julián Carranza joins on loan - Official
Filbert Fireworks replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
You could have been mistaken for not realising Carranza was on the pitch. Ayew is a winger out to pasture. Daka is absolutely fine and at times exceptional at all aspects of his trade untill he has to take a shot on goal. And that ladies and gentlemen is where this team is at. -
Marti Cifuentes appointed new manager
Filbert Fireworks replied to Tuna's topic in Leicester City Forum
I blame Faes. He has some flair going forwards occasionally but positioning is rotten and we never look consistent becaue he himself isn't consistent. Start okoli next week and sacrifice a bit going forwards but hopefully can keep a clean sheet. LB is also a worry I like Thomas but so lightweight. Striker is another nightmare. Carranza made the mistake that led to their goal taking too many touches.
