With the blue steel wall of Vesty and Faes probably best to defend the lead now. Ideally bring James off and bring skippy on to hold the line................ What could possibly go wrong?
-
Weirdly we looked really good last week with Bobby and Daka. Bobby deserves a start. The fact Daka cannot kick a football into a net and yet he's our best starting striker boggles the mind. It's like the world is upside down. Faes and vesty is an awful pairing too. Would rather build for the future when Nelson and Souttar are fit. Watching Okoli being a bombscare is somehow far less irritating than side show bob. Quite like it apart from the defence.

This get rid of faes or vesty for an okoli or a Nelson and it's looking OK.

Marti Cifuentes appointed new manager

We were fine in the first half last night. The second half was woeful and share everyone's disappointment we should have pushed for a second and killed the game off but it went wrong with the sub. That said I think we need to keep some perspective. Our squad is slightly weaker than last time we went down. That's a fact. Our new manager has barely had a preseason and we are only 6 games into the season. In that time we have barely spent a penny on improving the squad on sold some experienced heads. Jamie Vardy, Ndidi, Mads come to mind. He's also had to manage half the squad wanting transfers away and no doubt some egos Faes, soumare etc and the winks situation. We have played some good passages of play. We have come back from behind. He has been reactive and changed the line up several times in just 6 games. Monga is now starting. Page has been in and around it etc. Apart from last night the subs have actually been timely and quite good. We know there have been issues in the changing room. Players on high salaries wanting away etc. Keep calm and give the guy a chance. Had we won last night we would have been second in the auto promotion spots depsite all of the above. We were literally a Vesty brain fart away from that and then it would be a completely different converation on here. -
Given last year and lack of preseason we're probably not far off where we should be at. Minus a Vesty calamity and we'd be second in the league. Just need a bit more bravery.

Leicester 1 - 1 Wrexham POST MATCH

Proper game of two halves. Looked good for first 45. Wrong subs and looked dross the 2nd half. -

Did make a solid initial 11 selection and appeared to bench the underperformers. Started Monga also a plus. Generally like his subs but tonight when Wrexham changed shape they backfired spectacularly and taking JJ off has hamstrung us. Defending a 1-0 lead at home with QPR struggling to stay up is one thing but tonight with our squad we needed to be brave and push for 2-3 goals. That sub was a tactical mistake. Conceded two goals at home in 5 home games which is fine but Wrexham are dross and should have been killed off tonight. More bravery needed. -
So disappointing. What a rubbish second half. Needed to be braver going forwards, not try and defend a 1-0 lead at home against to be honest absolute dross. When has that ever worked out well.
-
Wrexham look completely different for changing shape but our subs have backfired spectacularly. What a calamity from vesty.
-
Best not give him a new contract then......... Oh wait.
-
Oh no don't spoil it. 😂

Absolutely fair play to Marti tonight he's changed the team based on performance. Dropped Ayew, Mavs and walk back soumare. Playing young monga. Clearly recognised soumare in the double pivot isn't working. Brave manager making tactical pragmatic changes what a breath of fresh air this is. Completely anecdotal but Soumare and Faes should never be on the pitch together at the same time. Like an alloy metal they merge together and create something super in their case just super terrible calamitious football. Never should the two meet. No Ayew slowing our attack down either. Will be fun to see Daka run through into a 1:1 and trip over but here's to hoping. Excited to see what Happens. Pretty sure RVN would still be rolling out the same 11. Please let us click tonight.

The ref was the officiating equivalent of the chenobyl distater tonight. Like a walking traffic light when he lost the game at the end. -

We always like poor when Faes and Soumare are both on the pitch together. Honking attitudes and poor footballing brains. To think soumare pushed for a loan because he was 'too good' for this league. Absolute joker. Just stick hamza there. Rather lose but see some passion. -

I liked the old marti that played okoli and the academy over the proven not good enoughs. Drain the swamp. -
Bobby to the rescue. Seriously though can we ditch faes and soumare regardless of ability and start the rebuild even if we're more crap for a bit. Rather have the academy trying and failing than the rot from previous seasons. Faes soumare proven they can't do it in the prem so what's the point in not trying to develop the youth.

Faes soumare Ayew.... Yawn

I like him, makes effective subs and manages the game well. Makes a few bold choices. Started Ramsey when it would have been easier to let him make a cameo. Has let the academy come into the line up. Seems to have managed the chaos behind the scenes well. We actually score more than 2 goal now and can come.back from behind. Even had a player get a red for trying too hard. Honestly that was my favourite part of the game. When was the last time we saw effort like that under RVN? Never. My only gripe is the skippy soumare double pivot. It smells worse than a rotten cheese board on a hot day. -
Who was our worst manager and why?
Filbert Fireworks replied to ramboacdc's topic in Leicester City Forum
Peter Taylor - That was a terrible time. RVN - Just as bad if not worse but a shorter stint and think the club realised he was woeful so didn't give him a transfer window. 9 home games without a goal. -
Transfer Window Rating Out of 10
Filbert Fireworks replied to StanSP's topic in Leicester City Forum
Insane. Thought we would have to pay 8million for someone to take him off us. -
Making a good start on the rebuild. Agree with the outgoings. Pleased enough with the two midfield loans especially JJ think he strengthens the starting 11 potentially and good to have Ramsey as an option if we can keep him fit. Both make good financial sense. Really not sure about the striker though. 4 goals in the Dutch league hardy screams new starting striker. Just seems very random and rolling the dice. Has a Tete type flop scenario written all over it but really hope to be wrong. Given the circumstances a satisfactory window.

Julián Carranza joins on loan - Official
Filbert Fireworks replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yeah the bars literally on the floor isn't it. Got to give him a chance, scouting team must have seen potential in him. I feel like with the JJ signing that's exciting and you know what your getting where as this feels a lot less sure. Genuinely hope it works out though. Maybe rudders is frnakenstein style assembling the best bits of daka, Ayew and Julian to make an actual striker. -

Exactly the sort of signing we've all wanted. Proven track record of quality. Our new striker is quite underwhelming in comparison to this but lets hope he surprises and clicks here. -

Filbert Fireworks replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Genuinely think he's been loaned primarily as a back up and a bit of competition to try and push Ayew and Daka on. Suppose time will tell but I'm very underwhelmed. We perennialy couldn't sign a decent right winger after Mahrez escaped untill Enzo came along and made some great signings and now we seem to have the same problem with striker. Scouting team must have seen something though so let's hope he clicks here and turns out to be mustard. -
Still watch the Salah one on slow-mo sometimes.
