Ah, didn’t realise Cannon was injured. Coady booting it to Albrighton who boots it *insert name of striker* 10 times a match and that should get us enough points for automatic promotion. I believe Coady is one of the few players who hasn’t had a bad game, get in him in the starting line to kick some a**e.

That’s the point for me at this time, Leeds struggled to get a point but at least they struggled and got the point, a bit more of that and we would be top of the league. Win the next match and we are top of the league? Lose every match from now and we’d probably not have the momentum to win the play offs. Get promoted and have team and system to stay up, wholesale changes will take place in the summer regardless and some players that seems certain be able to be persuaded to stay, may now not be so wanted or want to stay as much?

I’ve left the room twice during the match and we scored both times…

Good call, I don’t think we have as dead set a starting 11 week in week out as some people think, but it’s hard to judge who is going to be out of form. Coady has been very strong recently and seems to be good at keeping the range of passes mixed up. Coady and Nelson deserve a chance but hopefully we have enough in our legs to keep pace with a presumed faster than we have been used to pace.

Signed to replace George Hirst?

If you put it like that, then the FA cup, cos we would have the pleasure of seeing our team beat 3 of the mentioned premier league clubs on the way to lifting the FA cup. But let’s be honest, if we do beat 3 of those premier league teams, then you expect us to beat enough championship clubs to get promoted.

Think of it as a 12 match league that starts today, with the bonus that if you lose 1 game (except the hopefully superfluous last league hame of the season), you only win trophy instead of 2.

Never a dull night in spiders 🕷️

I thought so too. My only worry was that Bournemouth long balls always seemed to find their man. That could potentially be exploited next season more if we are in the premier league against players able to make one sidestep and then score. But that would be next season with the expected shake up in personnel and Enzo having more time with the players over the summer.

Back of the net!

Cardiff have some semblance of form and “no team is going to win every last game in the championship”…. Ipswich blip incoming…
-
Sounds like agents stirring up trouble to get our “star” players cheap.

Cannon joins the list of Vardy replacements signed before Vardy has actually retired/left.
-
So that would explain everything and make Cannon an excellent signing then, we assumed a striker was leaving so we signed an injured striker…

Are we bottlers and do we have a weak mentality?

After seeing the game yesterday, I’d say we need to find a way to score consistently against 11 players stood in front of goal. -

Maybe we need to learn to play to the referee more, QPR were getting away with being more physical yesterday and it took a while for some of our players to start just shouldering their players off as well. Referee didn’t punish our players for it either. Agree that the refereeing appeared poor yesterday. Fair play to QPR yesterday, two buses parked in front of goal and they seemed to intercept every ball that went through them. Needed something else, whether it was another gear or 2 moments of magic instead of only 1. -
The academy players won us the early matches and the system tired out the opposition to win us games. Just so many players took the gauntlet and ran with it, superb. Now the system is evolving with Faes and Vesty making runs when a pass isn’t on but space has opened up, Coady finding players at a distance. Won’t clubs being frit about being docked points mean they want to sell players and get their own books balanced? Yes, I agree and FFP fears for other clubs may actually see a lot players being attempted to offloaded all round. I love Martin O’Neill and all the success, great to watch football. But from what I’ve heard it was more of an uplifting team talk that brought results when things were going badly than tactical twinges. “We’re losing, get more stuck in lads!”. Last fifteen minutes of the match spent in opponents third of pitch was always a joy to watch, I didn’t see it as turgid at the time but I can see that other might.
