I loved Savage when he was at our club, and it’s crazy thinking about how football has moved on with the amount of subs we now have when it used to be hard to have more than 11 main players, or get regular minutes on the pitch for more than the main players. I disliked some of the nonsense he’s said as a critic but hats off to him for going to Peterborough and making an immediate impact.

I presume he would want to be at a club with at least a chance of promote this season?

This forum has been. Lamenting this style of play for many years lol. The success of this system is when opposition players are drawn out of position, this should give us a better ratio of players (and presumably in decent positions) in the opposition half. Once this is achieved there is nothing further to gain from passing the ball around in our own half, even if we loft the ball forward then we should have a greater chance of ending up with the ball. During Rodger’s iffy games we would meander around the pitch but had the players to strike a goal ball from distance. Now we need to create passage of play to find easy goals like Enzo ball, but I’ve not seen the strict passages of play they would lead to goals like under Enzo, so I don’t really know what the plan is. Probably to get the ball out wide but do it so slowly that the build up does not actually generate any advantage. M’eh

One of the problems with the way this club is run is that we have had fanciful notions of promotions and then get relegated. We need to be quickly consolidating our position in this league so we don’t get relegated and then push on, if possible to be promoted. With our results this season so far, promotion is fanciful. If we can control matches, then get some tidy passes and through balls further up the pitch with Smallbone, then we might get some good results. We haven’t had a decent run of results for a long time, something needs to change and we need to find consistency

If they don’t strip them of the titles in the period and hit them with a points deduction relevant for each offense, multiplied over successive seasons for their delaying tactics and any obstructions, then they will have gotten away with it. If they are inconvenienced for one season but still have multiple premier league title in their trophy cabinet, then that is not a deterrent for any other club to pull these shenanigans.

Reading the latest statements from Man City PLC, they sound like nothing more than threats. The brazen talk of having been fully cooperative is a joke with the amount of time it’s take to get here and the talk of appeals. Wikipedia is obviously listing them with only 2 top tier titles, so we only need a couple more to leap frog them and beat them in the amount of both top tier and second tier titles COYB 😂😂😂

no, I don’t think we’d have stayed up last season if Cifuentes had stayed, Rowett reverted to a similair style of football very quickly. as for Administration, I’d like to think promotion would’ve saved us but the talk from club about some of this seasons signings, “experience and should be playing at a higher level”, makes me think that they could be wages that are unsustainable even in the championship.
