Then Sophie Howard did an interview in which she said her contract offer wasn’t great and left for Italy, that seemed to be the catalyst for others to go like Momiki. Mace going was out of the blue and maybe Miquel kicked off about that and got her marching orders. Overall it’s been a turbulent 2.5 years, and I think Rudkin filled the gap between Pearce and Billiard so even those exiting now like Cain, Leitzig etc were probably seeing their extensions in summer 2024 or 2025 triggered by Rudkin on p1ss poor terms in favour of the club. Lots of long term injured too on those deals so not much interest from other clubs back then. Throw in a coach that hasn’t got a clue, and cannot get a team to score goals, loans out and ignores young players, gets relegated, then surrounds himself with young players for a wsl2 campaign and maybe you’ll be as baffled as me!

It’s interesting to see the type of player that Passmoor has brought in, generally upwards moves for most of them or a much increased prospect of playing regularly, a chance to prove themselves but also far less likely to question him or his tactics unlike let’s say Williams, Neville or Cain who id imagine were not backwards in coming forwards. Speaks volumes that so many wanted to leave, even if it was just to find themselves a 12 month stay in WSL1 by joining Charlton, Palace or Everton, none of which can confidently state they won’t be in a relegation scrap.

Haven’t been to the stadium since Vardys final game v Ipswich, interest has slowly faded away from streams last season to just checking the full time score. Did also follow the women’s team but again, lost interest. The game in general has changed so much that I don’t really care for it anymore, the farce with Trump in the World Cup, Infantino, even a few years back when the big boys tried to form the super league, it has all contributed to my lack of interest. I’ll always be a Leicester fan and want them to do well, but I’d rather do European city breaks these days with some of the money I save by not going to games.
