Maybe there's an element of regret in binning off Cooper, who may have proven worthy and avoided relegation, as opposed to appointing RVN (who is possibly the worst appointment in the history of football) in the hopes of chasing a mid table finish.
My thinking is, in appointing someone almost as good as Cooper for the coming season, (Cervantes or whatever his name is) and keeping together a premier league squad that should have been good enough to stay up, it's hard to bet against a top 2 finish.
Let's face it, if Cooper was still here (probably still be in the Prem, but that aside) everyone on here would be talking about winning the league by a clear 20-30 points and having it wrapped up by Xmas.
Adding a brilliant young GK to the ranks in the past few days shows how serious the board are about the clubs future. I'll cheer every time Faes (hopefully captain this season) gets megged or almost makes a tackle, likewise every time Daka falls over the ball five yards out. And again for Skipp, but probably only after 75 minutes when I realise he's actually been on the pitch all game.
Splendid job this summer, splendid.
