  1. Would have absolutely loved to have seen him end up here, I agree that he will play for a big club and Hull will get a sizeable fee for him when that happens. That could have been one where we looked to get back to the old model of signing players and selling for massive profits. A missed opportunity.
  2. Seriously, this football club deserves everything it gets. Ran by complete f*****g mongols, seemingly hellbent on outdoing themselves year on year in the internal "Stupidest F******g Decision" awards. I'd like to say I'm gobsmacked, but I'm not anymore. Par for the course for Top and Co.
  3. Good f*****g lord, those are harrowing stats. If this is the way we're going then things must be even worse than first feared behind the scenes. God help us.
  4. You've got to look at his CV and what he's achieved in the game pal. In my opinion there is absolutely no chance whatsoever that a manager who has won 2 UCL's, 3 Premier Leagues, 2 Serie A's and 2 La Liga titles comes to a newly promoted Premier League side, and that's before you throw FFP, Jon Rudkin and a possible points deduction into the mix. Near certain relegation isn't something he needs to add to that, and nor should he want to. I don't think the draw of the Premier League is anywhere near enough to outweigh the risks of taking a job that you have a probably 5% chance of being succesful in from the get-go.
  5. Fenerbache are in the Champions League qualifiers mate, with a decent squad, a real chance of silverware in Turkey and probably bags full of dodgy cash on top of the fortunes they'll be paying him. Aside from those things they have on us, I don't really think anyone could have seriously thought Jose was a realistic proposition for us, surely..?
  6. Well, for all the people who have crack on their cornflakes and were suggesting Jose, he's off to Fenerbache on a 2 year deal by the looks..
  7. Bit early to be calling him a complete arsehole, pal..?
  8. Find me somewhere online confirming this? Nothing online states he's out of contract, and off the back of a European campaign like he's just had I'd be astounded if, even if he was, Olympiakos didn't have some form of option/clause in there. This isn't someone walking out of a club on a free. That alongside the fact that at the start of this thread there were fees mentioned "If we can get him for the right price" etc. suggests to me this isn't the case. And to your previous point, if he is on a free, signing on fee and wages are instantly alot higher due to no transfer fee. There's an argument to be made for both sides, he could come in and score 30, however, I doubt that would happen judging by his previous experience and record. So this doesn't change my view that this is exactly the kind of signing that seems to have little upside and something the club should be avoiding. Returning to the model of developing players and selling for profit needs to be where the transfer policy aligns to, this isn't that in any way, shape or form. Just my opinion.
  9. You know on second thoughts, I think I’ve been abit disrespectful to Islam, here. He’d played at a higher level and scored a raft more goals than old Ayoub. But, to answer your question: Age. Profile. How terrible value for money any deal would be. How quickly we’d realise we’d made a terrible mistake. And this is from someone who thought Slimani would score hatfuls for us. He didn’t, he was far too expensive and we had a nightmare getting him off the wage bill/recouping any outlay. Off the back of winning a European competition, this fella will be too. He’s 30, untried in any top league and will cost a fortune with no resale value at all. Although this fits our MO with terrible recruitment policy of the last few years, there’s not many scenarios this makes sense IMO. Avoid at all costs.
  10. STINKS of Islam Slimani MK II
  11. He was doing well and was all set to commit long term to the project, won a cup and came 2nd in the League. Apparently there was a fall out between him and some backroom staff with Andre Ooijer in particular being mentioned, alongside a "lack of support" at the club - i do wonder what he'd make of Mr Rudkin.
  12. IMO, if it isn't Corberan this would be the most exciting appointment the club could make.
  13. In what world do you think Harry Winks goes and plays for Chelsea..? They have 270million quids worth of centre midfielder in the 6 role alone? Hermansen I can see, but you can stop worrying about Winks for multiple reasons, the main one being he isn't good enough at the level Chelsea aspire to operate at.
  14. From Celtic. I agree, him and the youngster Fellows would be the only 2 from WBA for me. Would be absolutely nowhere near 9.8m quoted above for Diangana. Scandinavia and Europe get us far more for that money IMO.
  15. I understand this concern, but you must also caveat that with the fact that he's managing WBA. By the very nature of that fact the amount of tweaking and reacting he can do is limited by the talent and resource he has available to him. Resources especially that he has had to be very, very frugal with due to the financial constraints they were under. They arguably puched above their weight this year and 1 or 2 more squad players/1 more major attacking threat gets them even closer to over the line very unexpectedly. IMO, if he were to take the job here and this still proved the case then those arguments more than hold their weight. I think we could do alot worse than Corberan, I wouldn't be concerned if this is the direction we took at all.
  16. Would be happy with 30m and Stolarczyk to be perfectly honest. However, I can't see Chelsea being held to ransom on him. They'll go elsewhere you'd think.
  17. F**K this guy. I'd rather lose 12 Zip every week than watch this helmet in a Leicester shirt.
  18. Ruud Van Nistelrooy is the one that really piques my interest. Was doing great at PSV before a falling out with the board (which may mean he won't want anything to do with us due to Rudkin and Co), young, hungry with an absolute winners mentality. Was proving highly succesful in integrating youth, also. Ticks alot of boxes.
  19. Got to laugh ain’t ya.. As if getting promoted to the hardest league in the world with the Points Deduction/FFP/Still employing Jon Rudkin handicaps wasn’t enough, now we need a new manager (who’ll have to completely overhaul the style of play, again). Leicester City FC 🦊😍
  20. Not sure why anyone in their right mind would take the job, however, if by some miracle we can make it happen it has to be Graham Potter for me. We might need a magic wand and a couple of spells to convince him though.. 🧙‍♂️
  21. If there is even an ounce of a chance that it could happen, Yaser Asprilla is someone we should be going full belt for. Ticks every single box.
  22. One I was absolutely gutted we didn't go for. The lad will be a superstar.
  23. 2 things from this: 1) - There is not a cat in hells chance he is 26. 2) - The standard of defending in Russia is an absolute abomination. Avoid.
  24. Would be nothing more Leicester than paying 20mil for a 28 year old off the back of 1 good Championship season.. Please, Jon. No.
  25. Thai..? Something ain't right here.. Weren't you in Thailand 18 years ago, Rick..?
