  1. England outdoing the Italy of old. Well done, or something.
  2. God forbid we do something ethically, morally acceptable that is also within the regulations of the PL... We just need Top/KP to be taken to court over corruption allegations now to complete the bucket list.
  3. I'll admit, I did not think he would even make it here when we were still loaning him out at 21-22 years of age. To sell him for £30m to a 'rich 6 club' a couple of years later is wild! That's just £10m short of two English internationals who were proven top 10 players for multiple seasons... I mean, just let that sink in. I really like his attitude and feel his ability has been downplayed a bit by some people. Hope he gets a chance at Chelsea, have a feeling he will surprise a few.
  4. It's funny how he's been a regular international, yet on the back of one of his most productive seasons, he gets overlooked I'm amazed at how well he's done for himself since leaving Esbjerg (Barca, wtf??), but he's just never been more than average at best (which isn't the norm). I hope this story isn't true, but if it is, maybe we can take solace in that we've written off Danish player before only for them to prove themselves again
  5. Of course he should be competitive. But there is a line, however subjective that may be, which he repeatedly crosses. Racing was very different 30+ years ago mate. Senna's style and personality would not translate well into today's style. I would liken Max more to Schumi's reckless style tbh.
  6. I feel with Max it boils down to purely arrogance - he will just not accept losing to anyone it seems.
  7. A few days late for that. And it didn't work either
  8. Not watching the game, but have England really had 0 shots on target against Slovakia? **** me...
  9. It's just mutual back scratching. I'd hope we could get someone useful in that case.
  10. Beggars can't be choosers. Once more, they've played us. Think £30m is pretty fair. No deals will go like this as long as PSR is in place. They will be separate deals to ensure full revenue is reported.
  11. Every win will increase the Germans' confidence. But yeah, don't see that much to fear from the Germans. They're vulnerable and wasteful. Should probably start Füllkrug instead of Havertz in the quarters.
  12. Clear foul surely. The Delaney offside was ridiculously close. We're talking Son levels close (against us).
  13. Ironic that Denmark prepared for the high block and chokehold style of Germany (which they've dealt with well), but ultimately it's long balls/quick breaks that have been their undoing.
  14. Musiala has been largely quiet with the obvious exception. Decent performance overall by Jannik and the rest.
  15. Yeah, but he fashioned one chance himself and did well for the chance at the end of the first half. Poor shot second half, but at least he's getting the opportunity to finish which wasn't the case for the first three games with service being so poor.
  16. Put up a decent fight, Denmark. Shame about the most marginal of offsides for the goal - would've made it interesting if that had stood. Ultimately another missed opportunity. Not good enough against Slovenia or Serbia. Would've fancied another deep run if they ended up in the other bracket.
  17. Pretty sure you're allowed all you want during the run-up, but you're not allowed to feign the shot. That's the reason Maignan was so pissed off after the penalty from Lewandowski was retaken. All the advantage to the striker when the keeper is no longer allowed to anticipate really.
  18. No? He may genuinely want KDH. The point is that we need to sell KDH for PSR reasons, but time is short and we need the necessary amount. If Chelsea finds the cash, then surely we should be happy about it.
  19. I mean, Enzo will have been a godsend to us. Got us up despite losing many important players, left for huge profit and possibly saves us from a point deduction if the KDH deal goes through. Even when he's left us he's helping us massively!
  20. Probably not. I too was naïve enough to yearn for Vichai, but most of the structure and culture of business was already in place then. He probably would've had the acumen to kick the can further down the road, but we were already well on our way to overspending systematically before his tragic demise. They've done plenty of good for the club, but also brought some along questionable aspects and practices which needed to be whispered quietly for years because of the overwhelming success they've brought on the pitch and to the club stature. The entire foundation of their wealth and the connections to the Thai royal family, the Thaksin Shinawatra scandal, the way we cheated financially on the way to promotion, the less-than-open attitude towards media or fan criticism etc. All these things and more have been red flags for a long time. But to not further derail the thread, I'll stop there. I think PSR is being made to look utterly inefficient and too easy to circumvent. It's insane to think that the PL has grown exponentially in revenue over the past decades, yet most of the clubs are operating with huge and ever-growing debts. This is what happens when you don't strictly control and supervise the clubs.
  21. You're absolutely right though
  22. Wake up fella - we're already in the mire and being found guilty. This what-aboutism trend/culture is only going to make everyone miserable. The rules suck even if the intention of them should be good. It's easy to blame the lawmakers, but it's deflecting focus from the mismanagement of clubs, ours in particular. We shouldn't be asking or wishing to find loopholes, we should be asking and demanding that our club lives within its means. That is, after all, the entire premise of the PSR idea, even if this inherently makes competition unfair. But guess what - it always was and will continue to be. As fans should we really advocate for billionaire owners using long-established clubs as their toys (or more nefariously, for sports- and whitewashing)? We are so extremely fortunate with the success we've had recently. The fans have really more than maxed out what could have been hoped for this club. Maybe this whole PSR malarkey can be used as a wakeup call to fans to show them how badly their clubs are run and what risks this poses.
