  1. For the vast majority of matches this season, we will have the superior team on paper. However, Saturday's game showed that if the other team's application isn't matched by ourselves, it's more often than not going to end in defeat. This could become a regular theme this season unless certain players leave the club or Marti is able to shift the mentality within the squad.
  2. Some of Brendan's comments after that FA Cup game at Forest in 2022. It's well over three years since that day, and yet we're still facing the same problems, to the point that these comments could have been attributed to Saturday's performance. "Our players have to look at themselves in the mirror and prove they are good enough to be here." "There was a lack of hunger and you get destabilised when you make errors." "Too many players think they are top players but are a long way off, some players may have achieved everything they can here." "They deserved to win - scored the goals, showed a greater desire and that's the disappointment."
  3. The atmosphere was decent from their fans yesterday, but as always it feeds off the application of the players. Like in 2023/24, we're regarded as one of the scalps in this league. So the vast majority, if not every ground, will be similar to yesterday if subpar performances persist throughout the season.
  4. Let's see how the atmosphere fares today, with less travelling fans than the last visit to Preston. The following today is around 3k, which is roughly 2.6k less than before. The support on that night in April last year was special.
  5. This is an ideal opportunity for our new manager to get his second win on board in the space of three days. These matches early in the season can be useful in terms of building momentum to take into the league campaign. Huddersfield have made a decent start to the season in League One, but both teams will inevitably make changes.
  6. This is a decent snippet from the club's match report on the website, where it makes a point of mentioning Marti's pre-match walk around the stadium. There was optimism around LE2 before kick-off. A hearty rendition of When You’re Smiling was a reminder of what this Club means to the Blue Army, who take that walk down Filbert Way, or indeed navigate the motorways up and down the country every weekend. Cifuentes was eager to thank them for their support too, taking a pre-match lap of the pitch to applaud all four corners before a ball was even kicked on his debut.
  7. Just for a bit of info. This season's away game at Southampton will be the 11th since 2015, and only three of those have been Saturday 3pm kick-offs. The Saturday match in 2023 was a 5:30 kick-off, the Sunday match in 2017 was a 12:00 kick-off, and the remaining six games have been weekday evening kick-off times.
  8. I'm also disappointed in the numbers for this one and expected better, but at the same time there are mitigating factors. This away game is the first of three within a week, and the club continually refuse to sell tickets to fans without a season ticket or membership. For every season that comes along, there are a select number of away matches where more tickets could be available to the wider fanbase. Unfortunately, the club's current policy doesn't allow this to happen, and it's very unjust.
  9. 31,102 was the official attendance yesterday.
  10. They were probably the best away fans to visit since Everton in 2022.
  11. The ticket sales are surprisingly slow for this one, but assuming the remaining tickets are sold, we'll be taking just over half of the stand's full allocation.
  12. 23 years ago on this date was the first league fixture on Filbert Way.
  13. Let's make it a rousing rendition of WYS today, and set the tone for our new manager's first league home match.
  14. This could be looking too far into it, but in the space of three years gold has become prominent on the club's badge. The 2022/23 home shirt and now the 2025/26 home shirt, although gold has been incorporated before these years as well. I've also often felt concern that the King Power crown will be added to the fox head at some point, which must never be allowed to happen. The design and colours of our crest should always be protected at all costs.
  15. New thread for the upcoming season. Safe Standing information - https://www.lcfc.com/pages/en/media-article/important-information-safe-standing-king-power-stadium-leicester-city-sheffield-wednesday General information - https://www.lcfc.com/pages/en/media-article/key-supporter-information-sheffield-wednesday-leicester-city
  16. This is obviously expected to be a win, and hopefully it is to start the season off well under the new manager, but agree with some other posters that it's a game to be cautious about at the same time. They're a well supported club and for the game itself, their fans and players will probably be galvanised to an extent.
  17. So in the last week, Birmingham have unveiled a statue of Trevor Francis outside their Kop Stand. https://www.bcfc.com/pages/en/media-article/a-legend-immortalised-the-trevor-francis-statue Given the greats that have played for our club, it's a real shame we don't have at least one statue of a former player.
  18. Yeah in fairness, the fee was talked about as being too high at the time, and we've obviously now made a loss on him as well.
  19. Kiernan's transfer to Everton brings up the point again about how detrimental that 22/23 relegation was, and how different the future could have/should have been had we stayed in the league. Of course, we'll never know that, but the difference in trajectory between the two clubs is now even more apparent since that season, what with Everton moving to a new stadium. Understand Kiernan going there, but it doesn't sit well to see him join the club who survived at our expense.
  20. Good signing at the time post-relegation, and was obviously part of the squad which won the league in 23/24, but that long-term injury really hampered Coady's time at the club. Also expected better from his performances when he did come into the side. Glad he's moving on given his apparent wages and keenness to leave the club.
  21. The first ever game at the stadium was 23 years ago today.
  22. The title of this thread should be renamed to Standing Section Updates in my opinion, as not only does it sound a lot better but it also makes sense now that this area of the stadium will be safe standing next season. Any chance? @davieG @Ric Flair
  23. Just a quick one. The forum's homepage is currently showing 996 as the most users online to date. This is obviously incorrect as the figure before was in the thousands.
  24. To add to the conversation about the no general sale policy, it's always worth keeping this in mind when it comes to away day sales, as it cuts out a proportion of the fanbase. The vast majority of games over the years haven't reached the level of general sale or booking history, but to not offer the option of either for select fixtures is just nonsensical. Most clubs do not close off sales of extra tickets to their own supporters, and that's what makes the policy all the more disappointing. The club's viewpoint seems to be that general sale/booking history brings about more trouble, but that argument has conveniently gone away for home matches, albeit with pressure from the Foxes Trust and Union FS.
