  1. I'm running out of words to describe how shite we are. We're playing a team who have scored 1 goal in their last 4 games. Either go 3 at the back against a team who are obviously going to sit in and try to make life hard for us, or play a genuine left back - preferably Aluko who might get forward and create space. Marti is a moron. And yet despite all of that, this squad full of cretins has still managed to find a way to concede. I hate everything about us.
  2. Hoping for that tosser to play well is expecting a bit much, no? I'd rather just see him embarrass himself further.
  3. Can everyone chill out? The guy has had a handful of good games. Better environment and coaching can only help, sure, but we don't need to worry about letting go of the next Cafu, do we? Leeds will hit poor form at some point. Could be this season, could be next. He'll make his first mistake and his brittle confidence will bring out his familiar level. He had a good patch for us once, too, remember. And he was always a decent finisher even at his worst.
  4. We only have a few players we're proud of. Nobody on this forum thinks we're currently a club to be proud of and certainly not a squad to be proud of. Wout just so happens to be one of the worst of a bad bunch. Removing wout is not problem solved. If a poor wardrobe of clothing loses it's mouldiest, raggiest shirt, it still needs an overhaul.
  5. And yet despite being paired with all of those liabilities, has managed to elevate himself to the position of most hated and worst at defending. Let's not pretend this guy is going to suddenly discover the art of defending the moment he's surrounded by better players.
  6. Thing is I don't even think it's all down to laziness (though there is a helping of that!) When you have no outlet upfront and no apparent game plan, it's no surprise we're not running. It's plain to see when we have the ball in our possession. Everyone is looking at the next guy wondering what they should be doing with the ball. So we pass it a couple of times and then inevitably either aimlessly hoof it, or lose it. And we tend not to need to run back that much because we rarely commit men forward.
  7. So come to finish the project by starting the project again and leaving it half finished again?
  8. He'd be an absolute moron to stay with us. We're a sinking ship.
  9. I don't think the final word was necessary
  10. What manager plays Luke Thomas week in, week out? I don't care that our alternatives are rubbish. Find a different formation if that's what it takes to drop this liability. What balance and structure are we worried about disrupting by changing it? Beyond thick. This guy is built like a child and he will never play at this level again the moment we stop playing him.
  11. Here's an idea. In attacking positions: PASS. THE. FVCKING. BALL.
  12. But he's a young footballer and quite clearly an intellectually challenged guy. He'd be great at a serious football club with a proper manager. Alas...
  13. This is what having a manager without authority looks like. He's allowed to attempt worldies every time he has the ball, because it's in his interest to do that in an attempt to raise his profile. A proper manager has him working for the team, picking passes when teammates are in space. But you lot didn't like Enzo.
  14. Yeah I was in the camp of 'what's the point' until recently. The point is we could genuinely go down at this rate. If you simulate the game vs. Derby we probably win 2 out of 100 times with the same level of performance. We offer absolutely nothing. Get a caretaker in. O'Neill if he'll take it. Then go again next year. It can't be any worse than this.
  15. Our squad is utter tripe with the exception of a couple of talents. I don't expect much from Marti, but I do expect more than this. We look like what I imagine we'd look like with a fan in charge. The level of coaching must be diabolical. We have no established patterns or clue what we're doing. Even bad players can follow a plan. Execution is another matter, but we don't show any signs of anything. It has been said a thousand times before, but it's true that we're reliant on moments of brilliance.
  16. We always play like we're down to 10 men
  17. Only normal levels of EFL ref bad tonight. Not the usual 'first game reffing' feel of the rest of his games officiating us.
  18. Such a poor take. We have thrown generational money at record levels of decline. Can't just shrug and say 'history, innit?' Does that same logic have Bournemouth as Premier League stalwarts? How about Brighton?
  19. The problem with being a keeper is, there's only so much you can add to a team by being brilliant. It's a lot easier to cost points with simple lapses, than it is to earn them with brilliance. He has the brilliance in him, but it means nothing if you gift a goal a game. It's a bit like golf in that the key to good golf, is boring golf. What good is a 300 yard drive if you shank the next shot?
  20. It was never a gift. It is a marketing activation by club partners. They have simply made a decision not to do it this year. Maybe they've realised that gifting their piss doesn't make fans any more likely to buy it. Can we please squash this theory that it has been a 'gift' from Top?
  21. Pretty clear cut, this. Anybody saying he's a pr!ck for being honest about wanting to play at the level he is clearly good enough for, is simply showing their lack of intelligence. How you can't understand that any one of us in his situation wouldn't do the same is, frankly, unfathomable. If he downed tools for a game or two as the deadline approached, it'll have been to force our hand. It's another thing entirely to down tools outside of transfer windows.
  22. I'm always the first to demand more credit for goalkeepers. And I'm fine with allowing the odd mistake. He's doing the hard stuff very well, but the frequency of mistakes is a concern. It's definitely more than I'm sure he'd expect from himself. He'll need to iron that out of his game if he's going to make the top level. He does still have some time on his side.
  23. I've noticed and been subjected to such random acts from the same guy. Angry individual masquerading as a reasonable person.
  24. Stops more goals than it causes.
  25. He's a good keeper, but even at this level you're only as good as your susceptibility to mistakes and lapses in concentration. He makes too many.
