I don't think Opoku, Evans or Hutchinson are ready. Expecting Opoku to be sold, Evans and Hutchinson to be loaned once we have recruits.

Agree on this. It's a shame Danny Ings failed the medical because that would've been great to have mentor for him. But with a lack of new english poaching strikers in this country, kirstin is standing out, looks like a player who has been produced in spite of an academy system addicted to producing number 10s. (I think this is why Jake Evans is not being considered for Centre Forward but thats for another thread).

I think the way we are setting up, the False 9 would hinder our goalscoring opportunities. I don't think we need a player to overcomplicate that position, operate as a poacher, link when we need to and be in the right place for the final ball. He is taking on that instruction really well.

Right lads, I know it's pre-season, but he's scoring against increasing standards of opposition (3 in 4 at time of posting). I am seeing really positive signs that he has the physicality, movement and instincts to become a top level bags man. He is consistently finding himself in goalscoring positions and giving himself the maximum opportunity to score. He is constantly on the move, looking to link the play with the AMs. He also has an extremely encouraging habit of not wandering away from position, staying between the posts and not getting drawn into a press that means when the ball is turned over, he's not out on the wing like Patson Daka constantly found himself in over the past 4 years. Feet on the ground of course, but if we have to start league one with him up front, I would be okay with that.

On evidence so far i am really pleased seeing our midfield look so composed. The defense situation needs sorting because okoli, nelson, faes and souttar are not going to be here. Otchere looks the real deal, great movement and had an instinct for goals.

Same with Jakub and Caleb 😂

Otchere might be the first striker since vards who actually plays between the posts. Keep him for this season. Really well taken finish.

Olly Skipp is the one player i think we won't be able to move on because we need to book at least 15mil to break even. I don't see any championship club paying that fee. My guess is it will be a loan plus wages with obligation to buy at 10m in the next season based on performance. The stumbling block will be what those performance targets are. My suspicion is leicesters preference will be playing 50% of all games, but then thats up to how good he can be in the right team. I don't think he is anywhere near an upgrade on Hayden Hackney (future england international btw) and if he flopps, we miss out on a transfer fee altogether. A team may prefer only signing if they secure promotion, but then that significantly reduces the type of club skipp can sign for. Alves and braybrooke seem to have a connection we have been missing in midfield. Think i said this before on another thread but our priority is adding experience to this squad to help our youngsters bed into life as a senior footballer where they will be against professional shitkickers every week. Chaplin, Ings and McCarthy signings are cheap, booked for the short term accounts and will be useful both on and off the pitch. This is the reality of where we are as a football club and its exactly what pearson did back in League One.

Based on the fact Man City just paid 10m plus add-ons for a 17 year old winger who has been scouted by every major club in europe, performed excellent at all youth levels and is being fast tracked through the england age groups. 10m for Monga is an absolute steal.

I think Maresca sees him as part of the squad this season. Got to remember post world cup the extra recovery time for players will be needed and because he can play both sides, that maximises his chances for the first team. He offers far more than sivinho.

Prediction, Monga makes the euro 28 england squad dislodging Noni Madueke. Tuchel will like him because he's excellent in 1v1 situations, final product will be elite and he has pace to run beyond. Because he can play both sides, Tuchel will love the flexibility in case Gordon and Rashford get injured. I also believe he will have an impact at Man City this season, especially in cup competitions.
