Sources: Brendan Rodgers fighting to keep Leicester City job after new fall-out
Brendan Rodgers is fighting for his job at Leicester City amid tense relations with club chiefs, sources have told Football Insider.
The 49-year-old has been unable to sign a single player this summer and is battling to keep hold of prize assets Wesley Fofana and James Maddison.Behind the scenes, it is understood Rodgers is unhappy he has not been backed by the club hierarchy, who, in turn, have major doubts over his long-term positionFootball Insider revealed in February that Rodgers had fallen out with longstanding Foxes director of football Jon Rudkin, with the club’s recruitment a particular bone of contention.
The pair have failed to repair their relationship and it is believed to have become increasingly sour in recent weeks.
Leicester came close to sacking Rodgers in February following a grim series of results and his position has been weakened further going into the new season.
