We're due a clean sheet. 3-1 Leicester

The people repeatedly moaning about the bad jokes are as bad as the bad jokes tbf

And he'll be off to a bigger club if he comes here and smashes it. Injury record or not that contract length is a joke IMO. 2.5 years is probably acceptable.

How the turntables -
Couldn't take it any longer. Actually won 4 of my first 5 and was top, then as per the same tactics/players turn to mush and I won 2 of my next 13. Recovered a little, lost 7 on the bounce and to my surprise had to actually convince the board to give me more time. Then had a strong end to the season and finished 13th. I was happy to have an overhaul at the end of the season however I applied for the Guingamp job in March who are lower Ligue 2 level and agreed to become manager at the end of the season. If Cannes stay up next season it will be a miracle. Wage budget trimmed again to 10k, a side promoted to that league had 28k. Nice that I don't seem to have immediate pressure at Guingamp who are expected mid table for a while. 250k wage budget and 4.5m to play with

Piss off with your positively alternative ways of thinking

Not a fan of this delusion that seems to come with playing this brand of cricket (see Duckett's comments last night) -

Chances we don't get 15+ days of play this series? -
Yeah I saw it vaguely the other day. It did cross my mind but at our level it's probably somewhat justified so I'm not totally convinced it's a bug. I'm not used to it ever getting cut though
-
I don't normally negotiate these as money is usually irrelevant but it isn't here. I was bullied by an agent-less 15 year old youth candidate earlier on into giving him £40p/w. The other boys were content with £20. This club has broken me
-
Bit late for that now but maybe, I don't like being hammered in pre-seasons, I can barely compete against lowly Ligue 1 B teams Frustrating as the owner and his group supposedly has connections with Roma so i'd have thought it wouldn't be this bad
-
Ranges from maybe 50k to -150k throughout the season. Projections look grim. Think I'm just gonna write off season 3, try to keep my head above water and blood in some youngsters who are supposedly talented.

I've just finished season 2 with Cannes. Went from 6th to 11th, 2pts worse off than last season but further away from the relegation zone points wise, very odd season. 10pts from first 11 games then had promotion form from there. I've found out though we have a Vanarama budget. I spotted a mid table side in our league have 80k wage budget, ours went from 14k to 11.7k at the end of the season, I'm not being rewarded at all for my money saving To sum it up, my board have just accepted a bid on my behalf for a 16yo. 7.5k.

It feels like it but it took us until late October/early November (Boro away) to concede a league goal past the hour mark.
-
Been saying this for ages, feels like the hardest game they've had in a long while was Norwich away. Think they've got us, Leeds and perhaps Ipswich away to come? WBA at a guess too
-
Yet you were at the game posting in the match thread all evening
-
Not that I want that game to go on longer as only one team would win it but why is he blowing on the 94th when play was stopped for a head injury
-
That isn't a red probably not even a yellow in a perfect world
-
You don't give out 2.5yr contracts to players of this quality, don't care what his injury record is like (which seemingly hasn't even been a problem the last 18 months). We get him on a deal til 2026, we get one good full season out of him and assuming he does well, we're then looking to flog him already otherwise we're at risk of him running his contract down. I understand the concern but it's risk vs reward.

First season done with AS Cannes and finished 6th. The leg break to my best player lost me any consistency in the final third of the season, was always within a handful of points of the final play off spot but dropped off at the end finishing 12pts off 3rd. Convinced i've got the lowest budget in the league, certainly have the lowest sponsorship income. Really enjoyed the tight budget though and have spent far too long scouring B teams from those above. When I joined the club we were spending 15k p/w on wages, reduced down to 13.5k during the season and now ready for the new season down to around 12.5k. Not overly relying on loans either, more so players that have been released by Monaco & Nice inparticular and taking a gamble on them. Still have too many 2.5* players in and around the side but there's potential. Binned off my affiliation with AC Ajaccio in L2 and got in Troyes instead, though the gap is too big for some of their players to want to join me. I'm gagging to sign a LW at his peak who has managed 20 goal involvements in the last two seasons at this level who is unattached with no interest bizarrely, but he is randomly super offended when I go to offer him a contract. I promoted a 17yo striker to the first team at the beginning of my time here who is arguably my #1 striker now. Managed to keep on top of my best players' contracts to make sure they're here for atleast another year, then most of the squad fillers have extended at fairly sizable wage cuts which is very handy. Predicted 13th for the new season and the board still just want to avoid relegation, hopefully I will shrug off the tag of being underdogs (not sure if my assistant was crap or its just down to the club status that most games last year he suggested we go from a balanced to a cautious/defensive tactical outlook.

He was the best we had for that position, clearly, so who's next? As it's very unlikely there will be anybody better from within
-
That's a really weird take for a position we are light in

Don't you just love it when your best player gets injured during a match, then thanks to a miracle after the game you read your emails and he's only out for 1-2 days. Bullet dodged Next week he goes off injured with a broken leg.
