Man Utd (a) - FA Cup Pre-Match Chat
The Year Of The Fox replied to StanSP's topic in Leicester City Forum
They went for free because everyone was playing so poorly for Rodgers. The only player he really improved was Maddison, and he did give Vardy a new lease of life. But thatās it. -

Thatās my point. Nobody would buy any of Rodgersā other signings either (Fofana maybe? I forget who signed him) because they were all so poor. So why some thought he shouldāve been backed even further after Forest in the FA Cup I donāt know. I said it at the time- much cheaper to change the manager. -
Completely agree with you

Arenāt they supposed to be toning it down/tightening it up a bit this year?

I donāt doubt it. But Rodgersā own signings hardly inspired confidence to invest even MORE money with him did it? What did he spend here? Ā£230m? š š Even when he was given money in his last January- look at who he signed. -
We had to pay a sell on fee so only made about £2.5m

Would you be bothered..

Probably because we shouldāve never have been there in the first place. Very much like our āEuropean semiā that strangely gets spoken about so highly of. We only made it there because we failed to beat Warsaw twice in a better competition -

Havenāt been nearly so fussed since we won the PL, and what with our CL adventures too. How can I cheer a goal at home to Burnley on a Tuesday night when I was cheering a goal that knocked Sevilla out and got us into the CL Quarter Final? I canāt. Weāve been spoilt rotten The whole Rodgers car crash and the apathy (initially) against being against him killed the last bit of love I had of going to the games. The way weāre being ran off the pitch is a debacle in its own right too. And Iām not talking about Rudkin. Iām talking about the tone deaf middle management of the club. If going back to League 1 rid of all the mess then Iād probably take that. Who knows, I might start wanting to go again. š¤·š»āāļø Nobody can take the last 12 years away from us though. Itās just infuriating because the writing was on the wall 3.5 years ago and it was all so entirely preventable. -
Yeah, the lack of invite to that and all the hoo has about it passed me by for some reason. Yeh, itās a shrewd move by LIV too.

What are peopleās thoughts on Rick Shielsā association with LIV? Iāve just watched his latest Break 75 that came out today and it doesnāt feel like too much will change (I say that in a positive way) I felt a bit let down by his video with Rahm and Koepka though- it being only 9 holes. I do think though, knowing what Rick scored today at Riyadh, it might make me more likely to check the LIV scores this week to see how he compares to the field. Thatāll be the first interest Iāve shown in LIV, so I suppose their coalition is already starting to do what they set out to achieve!
