  1. Maybe so - I think we need to keep in mind though, that this is LCFC - how many deals have we done that have dragged on to the point of bewilderment, only for them to go through without worry, a week after everyone knew it was done?
  2. True, but for that amount we could by at least 3 more sensibly priced players - does feel a bit like putting all our eggs in one basket. That said, if it pays off we're golden - but how likely are the club to make such gambles.
  3. LM seem to think that "Leicester City have ‘agreed’ a €30m fee with Juventus" - if that's to be believed, then the issue is the player preferring to stay in Italy. It just doesn't feel right; such a deal would, i assume, pretty much clear us out budget-wise, with a few positions still to fill (unless we are planning to cash in on Mads). And would we really risk that, beyond the technical issues, on a player who doesn't really want to be here - we've made that mistake before. I can't see much substance to this, not now, maybe at the start, unless we really are being fed all kinds of bullsh!t about him and the fee.
  4. I get your point but that is dreadful - that's the sort of thing we'd have been doing pre-kp. We don't really know what plans they have for the interiors or for that matter the new shop, the fan zone or the pavilion. i'd like to think that they'll liaise with the foxes trust and the supporters groups.
  5. The more i read about this, the more it feels like we're just being used by Juve to force Roma to pay more. I mean, are we really going to spend this much money on such a young unproven player - especially to play in a position that either a) we don't really need (RW), or b) that isn't his natural position (10).
  6. Because they need something to blame Rudkin for?
  7. With equal respect, perhaps you're looking at this from a very narrow perspective - if your basing it on that stint he had replacing Ward. I mean it's not a massive sample size, and we were so bad in possession during that period that any keeper would probably have been poor. I accept, though, that it's far from being a strength of his, but at the same time there aren't masses of keepers, even now, who are decent with their feet, many are simply shot stoppers. It's all moot, anyway, cause he doesn't seem to have a future with us....
  8. It really shouldn't be a surprise - i think we've been brainwashed by the media (and our own lack of empirical understanding) into a conviction that cooper is a 'park the bus/counter attack' devotee - when, digging deeper, he's very much a possession type manager.
  9. Maybe so, but he actually was part of the rodgers squad that had that little run of wins, and he played well in those games - despite not playing in his ideal position. it feels harsh and premature to completely write him off as a PL-standard player. Equally, is it fair to judge Thomas on his performances as a loan player? It's never quite the same in those situations (especially as a defender, where it can often take time to gel) - i'm not saying he's likely to start but he has the potential to be a decent player, unlike certain FBs at the club, he's never been given a fair run of game time. And at least he's a naturally left footed player.... I think as fans we're too quick to judge players on too little reasonable evidence.
  10. He's not that bad with his feet - i mean, it's not his strength but there are many top flight keepers who aren't great with their feet - i guess we've been spoilt having mads and kasper for so long.
  11. I turned up on this list, and then i came back... Now i feel like there're a lot of people on here who wish i'd stayed away. Ha Ha.
  12. It's really not as simple of assuming your first statement - from what i've read it's more a case of a) cooper needing to see them first and b) the loan clubs not having the money to afford buying (why do you think they were only loaned last season?) Soumare played over 2000 minutes in la liga - who else in our squad had that many top flight minutes? why would we not want him back? My glasses aren't blue tinted, just clear - allowing me to be objective about the capabilities of these players. Soumare and thomas had the misfortune of playing their PL games in shitty relegated teams - who knows what might happen in our current squad. Just because they struggled last time round (as did, let's not forget, all of the other players in our current squad who were involved in that relegation season), doesn't mean they can't play completely differently this time around.
  13. They ended up with a less fancy sign... But originally, there was no sign there- just the tobacconists name...
  14. 100% - i'm glad they changed the scheduling so we get to play more teams, but it still feels like we play the dodgers and every other series. It's so tight, any of those three chasing LA could peak at the right moment and ger a WC spot - mind you, last night we blew a 3-0 lead giving up 7 runs in the last three innings to the bloody rockies!
  15. per Jordan Blackwell: maybe 4-1-4-1 - with ndidi is something we might see, then?
  16. Our fans seem only too ready to turn 'on their own' - Thomas seems the latest to be singled out for widescale criticism; hamza has had more than his fair share; christ, even KDH was starting to get shit from fans last year.
  17. They've wasted a number of brown field sites by allowing developers to build shitty little houses, and by restricting heights in the city. You could fit 470 homes in 3 or 4 moderately sized towers
  18. They have tried to introduce a padded cap typle helmet for pitchers in baseball, i don't think anyone uses them - they were nasty looking things https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-pitcher-head-protection-coming-in-spring-c164382304
  19. I suspect long term, t hen, that'll they'll end up with some kind of hybrid, or a design with some kind of space age material. You have to ask - if the normal helmet needs this much extra padding, then it can't really be doing much in the first place?
  20. Giants fan, and another year of wild inconsistency for us so far - that said, so many injuries they might end up finishing healthy and a bit of a dark horse, as it's the most talented squad i've sen them have since the last WS win.
  21. But it didn't play like that - ndidi was never a pivot - play would go through the two centre mids (youri/madders) for example. without the ball, ndidi would protect in the hole, with the ball, he'd drop into a back three with the CB's allowing the full backs to push into a midfield 4, and the two wingers to push into a front three. Unless i'm much mistaken, that was what we played the first two years under rodgers - where it went wrong was when he wanted to shoe horn kdh into the middle and started playing with youri and ndidi sitting deep .
  22. Fair enough, i wasn't paying much attention to away kits back then, i just remember the loros one, because it was one i actually bought - i thought it was the first time they'd gone retro with it.
  23. That design was the 125th anniversary shirt with a Loros sponsor for the mens' 1st team
  24. I've actually been thinking about the possibilities of playing with a back four - mainly based on the fact that ndidi, at his best, operated in a 4-1-4-1 system, where he'd drop back into a back three when the full backs pushed forward into a 3-4-3. It would give us more flexibility between defence and attack without having to play silly buggers with inverted FBs.
