And I'm saying we could use that money to make life sustainable on Earth. Moving house because you burnt down your conservatory is just lazy. Learn from it and rebuild, otherwise you're just going to burn down the conservatory in your new house. NB, have you read The Long Earth novels by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter. Interesting series in which the restrictions of finite resources are removed?

No, my reply is, we sort out our defence then we can win games without having to score 3 goals instead of 2.

Having posted just now in the Daka thread about the ineffectiveness of our strikers, but getting plenty of goals from elsewhere, why don't we try playing with no strikers. Maybe get one of our defenders up there instead to just bustle around, create space, win nod downs and set up our midfielders and wingers. (Prepares to be shot down in flames)

We've got the 8th highest goals for in the Championship. Though our strikers are poor, we're getting enough from elsewhere to carry them. Goal scoring is the least of our worries, we've got 4 more than Millwall who are 3rd.

"Hi, this is Tom Durnplad." Or... "I'm Peter Rumptrins, I'm just calling to say..." Possibly... "Lord Tan Dump here..."

I don't know why either.

Stoke 2-2 LCFC, post-match thread

What about tomorrow? -
We're probably a good watch for the neutral. Aside from Coventry, we've had the most goals, 99 for and against (Coventry 105), in our matches, plus our goals tally F and A are much closer (Coventry's GD is 36) and when we score it often seems to be worldies rather than the more basic tappings or headers from crosses.

Clichéd "feels like a loss, but I'd have taken a draw before the game" scenario. -
Our GD whilst not great, reflects the fact that we've been docked 6 pts. There's 4 teams above us with worse GD. Coincidentally, had we not had the penalty 6 pts, we'd be 4 places higher. Not great, but better than present. Current form needs to at least start turning. Our earlier season form, while not brilliant, would've seen us mid-table - a combination of the deduction and truly awful form have done us. We've got the 8th highest GF. Scoring isn't a problem. Myself, I'd welcome a 0-0, just so we can start believing that we can defend.

Not before the mother planet is secured. Make no mistake, once the Earth is stripped bare, it won't be the likes of you or I on the colony ship to Tau Ceti, or even Mars, it'll be the rich and the famous. Maybe the bare minimum of scientists (extra weight) and robots can do all the donkey work, right? Douglas Adams was writing humour, but he was also making a point. Telephone sanitation is important.

I could never get anyone else to play, so used to play against myself. I'm so sad I'd even write my own match reports

Some people on this planet don't even have the essentials of life though. Try telling all this to the literally hundreds of millions of people who live in extreme poverty. "Oh... you're building an ultra-pure manufacturing plant on the moon? My son would love to hear about that, but he died of malnutrition last week " As far as closing the arts, sure, why not, if it helps. I've said several times on here how ridiculous it is that people pay hundreds of millions of pounds for some coloured oils on canvas when there's so much poverty in the world.

Anyone ever play the subbuteo rugby? I'd guess if you still owned one it would be worth a bit.

How is spending billions to do something again for the sake of it going to improve anyone's life?

We used to play cricket with a dice and a ruler on the school desks.

Tru dat.

Can they deliver the post?

Did I say I was ruling it out? My point is that many grief revelers and woe wallowers talk like it's a nailed on certainty. Which it isn't.

Whilst thinks aren't great, I think the worst case doommongerimg is highly unlikely and probably doesn't help. Some people just like to spread their misery.

If the shirt is £180, the socks are a bargain! -

No, they never did that. They were fuming and weirdly united for once in their disgust at what had happened. -

As I understand it, he was just going to sweat it out, but that didn't work.
