Having a few in Bethnal Green today — started with the Kings Arms and now in the Bethnal Green Tavern, both Earl of Essex sister pubs and both Susan Perb, would recommend to patrons of the thread

Pretty much where I stand on it, too – anything around £10m and I think it'd be a quietly steady piece of business. North of that and it's a no thanks, I see he's been linked elsewhere for £20m+ which should be a complete no go for us. -
Pure length

Ex Players - They used to play for us
Miquel The Work Geordie replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yeah, I thought it was a bit weird we signed him to be a full back when he's very obviously a centre half. Great eye for a pass on him and definitely a really classy player in there, he'll do well. -
This bloke is absolutely not remotely legit as a source

4 of the letter E in his surname. An opportunity we can't pass up

Next England Manager?
Miquel The Work Geordie replied to DJ Barry Hammond's topic in General Football and Sport
I'll happily mention the 2014 group contained Uruguay and Italy. That doesn't excuse finishing bottom of the pile, we were crap against both and never really in that tournament at all, it was as underwhelming as everything the decade before had produced. The most exciting it got was that shot Sterling had against the Italians that everyone thought had gone in. Your argument also glosses over 2016 which was a national embarrassment. Roy couldn't go out to the 'first half decent side' we faced because he'd already got us dumped out by some minnows. Again I'm not some kind of staunch Southgate apologist, I'm broadly pleased he's gone but he was so, so, so much better than Hodgson for us. -

In double the time, though? I don't even think it's as black and white as win % – Hodgson was garbage at tournaments. Gets a pass for 2012 given he came in late, but contrived to finish bottom of a World Cup group featuring Costa Rica and then lost to Iceland in 2016. He was hideous. I'm not particularly pro or anti Southgate but to suggest he didn't substantially improve the state of the national team after Roy (and Allardyce) is just a bit daft. -
This guy looks completely different in every photo I've seen of him

Hope he's as good as the last Argentinian we had!

Southgate steps down as England manager
Miquel The Work Geordie replied to foxfanazer's topic in General Football and Sport
Right time, this tournament was awful, borderline maddening – but he's gone further than any manager bar Alf Ramsay and because of the conservative (often dull) football I don't really think he'll ever really get the credit for it. I know people will fall back on the "easy draw" rhetoric, but he's given me infinitely more joy and hope as an England fan than Hoddle, Keegan, Sven, Capello or Hodgson ever did. That Colombia penalty shoot-out in 2018 was the most I'd given a shit about England in ****ing ages. -
Who do you want for next season in the PL
Miquel The Work Geordie replied to Fightforever's topic in Transfer Talk
If by "all over that" you mean "avoiding at all costs because he's painfully crap and improves us in no way" then I agree
