All you have to do is type in bidding war into Google and you’ll see endless articles mentioning them happening. So that’s evidence. But if you’re going to make silly comments like I have no evidence they happen then I can say just as a silly comment and say prove they don’t?

I am 100% sure every footballer knows their responsibility to the community. I’m sure it’s in their contract aswell how certain levels of behavior is expected

You’d need everyone on board with that and I don’t think the Saudis would be. It would probably result in all the top talent heading out there now instead of waiting until their latter years
-
the problem of course is that Hamza is being used by the club to reach out to young people in the community who are interested in football. He’s visited schools, those in the Bangladeshi community, he’s met with youth teams, visited children in hospital. No offense, but the likes of you and me don’t do that. We, for the most part do mundane jobs. We are role models to maybe just our family.

No one mentioned auction.. and yes it works like that. Clubs increase their offers all the time. Just off the top of my head, Tielemans.. it happened with him because man United and spurs and Arsenal were interested in him at the time and this is what the merc said about it… Leicester City will likely have to win a bidding war to land midfielder Youri Tielemans on a permanent deal this summer.   However, it now seems as though that will count little in City's favour with Sky Sports reporting Monaco are hoping for a bidding war over the Belgian midfielder, and even their desire to sign Silva on a permanent deal won't interfere.

well, Megson had 7 right backs at one stage..
-
but neither club goes in with their biggest offer first and will of course increase their bid up to their limit should their first offer not be enough- for whatever reason. = “ bidding war”

add also the fact they are a prem side in no desperation to sell…
-
how long ago did they go for these prices?

I don’t think we as fans are putting too much pressure on him. To the outside world we are just a club fan base getting over hyped with a young player. however once this seasons starts and the games start ticking over, the club better be on the ball and be protecting him because he’s going to get swarmed by the football world.. the attention could be unbearable

After watching the koln game, I feel like we need something more in midfield. Cheeky bid for Christian Eriksen maybe?
-
pretty sure Pep plays with more than 6 players..
-
He’s going to be a £100m player before the age of 21. However, I think there will be another club between us and that amount of money.
-
yea. It was love at first cheap contract whilst paying his own compo! but seriously why might have struck lucky with him…
-
Noticed there’s been no outgoing move that’s been sanctioned yet.. feel like Marti wanted to give everyone the once over during the tour..
-
It does look like they are positioning Ayew for an important role this year… free kicks.. corners.. decision making..

Skipp you absolute doughnut

I’d love him if we sold Bilal.
-
During the pre-season training camp, the Sports science division attached a camera to a football because they wanted to Analyze Patson Daka’s shooting technique…
-
can he fly down the wing?
-
to be honest, I’ve given up trying to find out what current owners are up to..
-
I wonder if they are contemplating the idea of playing Fatawu up front? Partly because we have so many wingers.. he seems to be the only one of all our wingers who can truly finish..
-
I agree that he’s the best player we have got. However his value can be determined by two things- one is his ability and the other is by the financial position we find ourselves in. You are right to say we need to build a team and unfortunately that costs money. And that will be funded by who we are able to sell. We might not be able to sell some of those we want most likely for 2 reasons- they might not be very good and we might have given them large contracts. so in other words, if we want a new striker, we might need to accept a lower offer than we’d like for Bilal
-
don’t scare me like that. Saw this thread at the top of the pile and about had a heart attack…
-
usual case of young striker played to death and suffering from burn out later in life
