Alves development or any other academy product can't always be blamed on other people preventing them from cementing a regular place. If they are good enough and perform they will get more than a look in. Good players will find a way.

If people think we can get out this league with a midfield 3 week in week out of Page Alves and Braybrook are deluded. 2 of the 3 have had serious injuries and all 3 are hugely inexperienced. I hope all 3 can get 20 starts each this season, and that would be a real result. This is a great signing.

I’m not overly positive but we have an exciting crop of good young players and we are getting rid of the plonkers one by one who have underperformed over the past few seasons. I think in life there are generally some people that like to be negative about everything and that spills into LCFC too, even when there might be some positive signs, some people are just programmed like that. Think it’s probably best for everyone to reserve judgement after 10 games in and once the transfer window is shut.
