  1. Something to consider on this Manchester airport incident. I’ve been trying to find confirmation on whether GMP brought any charges against the 4 they arrested. There is very little in way of confirmation one way or another - other than we know the two in the main video have since been released. Normally in an incident as high profile as this, some sort of confirmation would have been given by GMP by now - either charged and released on bail, released pending further investigations or released without charge - especially given the reasons for the arrests are pretty easy charges to substantiate for an incident that’s happened within a building that’s going to have lots of CCTV and the police’s own body warn cameras. Now I’ve seen some suggestions online that those arrested have infact been released without charge, with some citing ‘lack of evidence’. But there’s been nothing official - despite 3 other statements by GMP - inside 24 hours, which is somewhat curious.
  2. It’s evident this was after the two initial arrests. It seems pretty obvious they were filming the previous incident. The officer wouldn’t be able to justify the use of pepper spray in that scenario (too close, no clear evidence of resisting). That incident has also been referred to the IPCC.
  3. Nah, it’ll be another 90 for Ward.
  4. Hermansen posted on his Twitter that he was ‘back in with the boys’ earlier this week.
  5. Why is Fawatu on the left such a problem? He can do these things on that side, with the only difference being he’d do it more often on the outside? I get why Cooper might view him as more effective there - if a defender comes tight to him, that will create space between full back and centre half for one of Vardy / Daka / Mav / Fats to exploit. If as a defence they back off - Abdul gets a running start. From what we’ve seen, Fawatu playing on the left would mean his closest suppliers of the ball would be Jannik, Winks, Mavididi and whoever plays up front. That’s some excellent technicians of the ball to find your runs.
  6. It’s not a 3 at the back system? There’s 4 across the bank as we defend. Yes, that becomes 3 as we attack, but if you talk to any football hipster the ‘3-2 rest defence’ is common across many teams. Heck, that’s even what Enzo employed! The alternative is to go for a ‘2-3’ setup - but given we have the likes of Coady and Vestergaard in central defence, that’s probably not suitable for our players?
  7. I get the feeling this pair will regret these comments on this incident as more becomes known. It’s notable Farage has said nothing so far and even Lozzer Fox has called the officers action out for what it is.
  8. To play an inverted full-back in the style Maresca did, you have to be possession dominant in matches - otherwise you will not be able to rotate the players into their attacking positions often enough to be effective. Will we have that luxury this season in the majority of games this season?
  9. Of course there is a Premier League gold glove winner who is currently doing bugger all that could be looked at as an option. Even with 12 months out of the game… you’d have to think he’d be an upgrade.
  10. So he’s number 2 at the moment then! Jacub out for 6 months after ankle surgery.
  11. There’s still 5 weeks until the window ‘slams shut’ 😏 - so there’s still time for the squad to take shape. It definitely requires some players to move on and some players to come in but I’m sure we’ll get there. I’d expect one of the keepers to move on (most likely Iverson), one of centre backs to depart (Faes or Souttar), Soumare to **** off (finally) and possibly Cannon to leave (loan or perm). Then the other way - we’ll sign a striker, someone to play that inside wing role, we probably want another midfielder and maybe a fullback.
  12. He’s 3rd choice… so if Stolz is injured, now 2nd choice and making him only one injury or transfer away from starting the season in goals.
  13. He seems to have fooled a few people into thinking that on here. For me, he was far too passive in his play.
  14. One certainty from tonight - we need another striker. I can see the logic in looking at Wout as a possibility - with all the pace elsewhere, having someone to bang it into and lay off at the top of the tree makes sense. Personally, still not convinced by Cannon.
  15. Normally I’d say yes… but he’s that good I think he’s getting in our 11 come Christmas/New Year.
  16. There’s definitely something about this lad. Quick, confident on the ball, makes good decisions… he’ll be in the squad at the start of the season and all going well will be demanding a starting spot come the end. He’s seriously good.
  17. He’s the 5-a-side attacking goalie isn’t he?
  18. I think it’s more a case of being not completely sure of his surroundings - there’s clear hesitation which would hopefully disappear as pre-season goes on.
  19. Alves will be in the starting 11 before the end of the season. The kid has some real quality about him - certainly a reason to be excited for the coming season.
  20. They’ve flipped the tactic from the first half setup haven’t they - which is why the OG boys have swapped positions.
  21. You should call people’s bluffs 😉
  22. You can see why we’d like Soule from this formation / setup.
  23. Starting Fatawu narrow would be a waste, allowing him to start from the touch line allows gaps between the full back and centre backs to appear - and gives him space and scope to go both inside and down the line. I feel the idea with the shape and movement would be better flipped so the inside forward / wing back is on the left… but that then plonks the vulnerable defensive side towards your left centrehalf… which if it’s Vesty, is not a good plan either.
  24. Any chance you’re making a joke @Kegworthfox? I fear you’re not. (This was why I was interested in the Barwell game - although I had hoped he was helping coach the side).
  25. Agree there’s some positives - but we do look vulnerable on turnovers. I’m also not convinced the setup is the one to get the best out of our two best attacking threats - Fats & Mav
