Let his country down? Really? He’s not David Cameron.
-
I understand that Hamza made a very poor challenge, but what would we prefer, Hamza working his socks off to get back and scramble defend to stop a goal after a dreadful pass. Or the passive defending standing off that led to the equaliser?
-
Really? I admit it was a very poor challenge, but what about the poor ball that created the situation, and Boothroyd’s mystifying substitutions?
-
Pathetic substitutions from Lady Boothroyd
-
All created by that twat who played for derby....

Spot on Matt.

My apologies if this point has been made, but a big part of my working life is Child Protection and my working world is divided into districts of the UK. We are not concerned about the districts that have several complaints that are being investigated because it means they are taking CP seriously. We are very concerned about those that report zero. My immediate thought is that what might be happening here.

That’s fair enough Matt. I appreciate you saying you weren’t putting the two together. It has always fascinated me how Thatcherites have built a narrative around her thoughts on leaving the EU that aren’t borne out by those who were close to her and heard her express her opinions privately and publicly.
-
I was responding to you putting a quote out to the effect that Farage is anti EU and loved Thatcher as if they belonged as one together. Apologies for challenging that narrative.
-
So we make no mention of Gray’s lovely feint and ball to Solanke but go on about how shit he is when he comes up with a poor finish.
-
I know you'd love to believe she’d campaign for Brexit, but people who knew her views well on Europe do not corroborate this I’m afraid.
-
Correct, but she made herself unpopular with the bastards (to quote Major) not having a referendum over it. .
-
Charles Powell, her foreign policy advisor who accompanied her to every European meeting said so on Newsnight recently. Not once did he ever hear her say that we would be better off outside the EU. She wanted to challenge and reform, but never wanted to leave. She was hard pressed by her anti-European to have a referendum over Maastricht but didn’t be,Keven in referenda. It’s one of the great fallacies of modern Conservatism, Thatcherite are anti-EU but there is no eveisence that Thatcher herself was.
-
I’m sure you know Margaret Thatcher never wanted to leave the EU.

Not 100% sure but think it’s 1st July, but players who played internationals post season generally come back a few days or so later.

Love the usual suspects, pulp fiction, shawshank and the blues brothers that have already been mentioned. Saving Private Ryan is also a brilliant film imo.

The sound of silence by Simon and Garfunkel. Every time I come on Transfer Talk, “hello darkness my old friend”.

How good is our strongest XI since we were promoted?

Benalouane playing and on the bench. Impressive ? -
Me too. Really looking forward to it.

Have a nice holiday

Matt P and Alf will be here any minute soon...

I love Bocelli’s performance that day and his voice is excellent, but Pavarotti is very much the King of the tenors by quite a distance technically. That said with music, each to their own preferences. No right or wrong of course.
-
Same with Godsiff ?

Been thinking about this last couple of days, and not sure how eclectic we can be, but Luciano Pavarotti.
