Realistic Managerial Replacements

They have his replacement lined up and confirmed https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samuel_Salter very interesting signing he’s playing in the Canadian Premier League. If this is the calibre of player they will be taking as a replacement it is a bit puzzling. It’s a 8 team league which I would call semi pro with majority of the players having regular jobs. Mid 20s who never had any solid offers in MLS and didn’t appear in any of Canadian youth teams at any age.

Hi ChatGPT Foxestalk Forum Member danny2997 asked: Wonder what chatgpt thinks? - Can you please give us your answer. What I think is most likely: I think Leicester will be found in breach of at least one charge, most likely the P&S breach for 2023/24, and I think a points deduction is more likely than not. Why I think that: The Premier League would not have reopened this unless they were confident on jurisdiction After losing the earlier jurisdiction case, the PL tightened the wording and went back in. That strongly suggests they believe the legal angle is now solid. The case has gone all the way to a full independent Commission hearing These don’t happen for weak or marginal cases. If Leicester were comfortably compliant, this would likely have been resolved earlier with no referral. There are three separate charges, not one Even if Leicester successfully argue down the headline P&S number, the late accounts and lack of cooperation charges are procedural and much harder to fully escape. Recent precedent points one way Everton and Forest established that: breaches are punished deductions are real “good faith” arguments don’t prevent sanctions Commissions now feel empowered to deduct points rather than just fine. How big do I think it would be? I do not expect a huge Everton-style deduction. My expectation would be something like: 3–6 points, depending on: size of the P&S breach (if proven) whether more than one charge is upheld mitigation (promotion, cooperation after the fact, sales made) When do I think it will hit? I think the ruling will come late winter / early spring 2026 And if there is a deduction, I think it will be applied immediately, not deferred. Important caveat (why this isn’t certainty): Independent Commissions do sometimes: reduce penalties significantly suspend part of a deduction or combine procedural breaches into a single sporting sanction So clearance isn’t impossible — just, in my view, less likely than some form of punishment. One-line summary you can quote on FoxesTalk: “I think Leicester probably lose this case in part, and a modest points deduction is more likely than not — the only real question is how big and when, not whether.”

CHAT GPT/AI breakdown on this situation: Leicester City FC – Financial Rules, PSR/P&S, and Points Deduction Explained (FACTS ONLY) This post summarises what Leicester are charged with, what the rules actually say, and when/if points deductions can be applied. No speculation — just rules, timelines, and confirmed information. 1️⃣ What Leicester City are currently charged with Leicester City have been formally charged by the Premier League and referred to an independent Commission for three alleged breaches: Alleged breach of EFL Profitability & Sustainability (P&S) Rules for the 2023/24 season (When Leicester were in the Championship) Failure to submit audited annual accounts by the required deadline Failure to provide full and prompt assistance to the Premier League’s investigation ➡️ These charges are confirmed by the Premier League and are currently being decided by an independent Commission. Important: ❌ No guilt has been determined yet ❌ No punishment has been issued yet 2️⃣ Why the Premier League is involved (jurisdiction) There was a legal dispute about who could punish Leicester. Relevant rule (Premier League Handbook): “Rule E.77 (now E.83) provides that where a Promoted Club is subject to an investigation by the EFL for alleged breaches of aligned provisions, responsibility for that investigation will pass to the Premier League.” What this means in plain English: • Leicester were promoted • The EFL investigation transferred to the Premier League • The Premier League does have jurisdiction to finish the case and apply sanctions This closes the old “jurisdiction loophole” Leicester successfully used for a previous season. 3️⃣ Do PSR rules still apply after relegation? Yes. This is written explicitly in the rules. Rule excerpt (Premier League Handbook): “If a Club is relegated from the League, that Club shall, notwithstanding relegation, remain bound by Rules E.47 to E.86 as if it were still a Club, until such time as it has complied with all of its obligations relating to its last Season as a Club.” Meaning: Even though Leicester are in the Championship, they are still bound by Premier League financial rules for past seasons until everything is resolved. 4️⃣ Financial reporting rules Leicester are accused of breaching Premier League reporting requirement “Each Club shall by 31 March in each Season submit to the Board copies of its Annual Accounts, estimated profit and loss accounts, and PSR calculations.” EFL (Championship) reporting requirement “Each Club shall by 1 March submit copies of its Annual Accounts and its Profitability and Sustainability calculation.” Key point: ❗ Submitting accounts late or failing to cooperate is a separate breach, even if the club later argues about PSR losses. 5️⃣ What sanctions are allowed under the rules? Premier League statement: “There are a range of sanctions available to the independent Commission which include fines, points deductions, and other sporting sanctions.” So yes — points deductions are explicitly permitted. 6️⃣ Is there a deadline for announcing or applying sanctions? Short answer: NO What the rules say: • Once a case is referred to an independent Commission, • There is no fixed deadline for when the ruling must be issued • Proceedings are confidential until finished Publication rule: “Under Premier League Rule W.83.3, at the conclusion of proceedings, the independent Commission’s final decision will be made public via the Premier League’s website.” Meaning: • Nothing is announced until the case is fully decided • Silence does NOT mean Leicester are cleared • Sanctions can still be applied mid-season 7️⃣ Can points deductions be applied during the season? Yes. There is no rule stating: • Deductions must be before a certain matchday • Deductions must be before the season starts Under the current rules, a points deduction can be applied immediately once the ruling is published, even mid-season. 8️⃣ Has any points deduction been applied yet? ❌ NO As of now: • No verdict published • No sanction announced • No points deducted The case is still live. 9️⃣ When is a decision expected? Based on reporting: • Hearing took place late 2025 • Decision expected late 2025 or early 2026 However: ⚠️ This is not a rule-based deadline — the Commission controls timing. 🔚 Bottom line (simple summary) ✅ Leicester ARE charged ✅ The Premier League DOES have jurisdiction ✅ Points deductions ARE an available punishment ✅ There is NO deadline that has been missed ✅ No sanction has been announced yet ✅ Any punishment can still be applied this season Until the Commission publishes its ruling under Rule W.83, nothing is decided

CHAT GPT/AI breakdown on this situation: Timeline for Leicester’s Sanctions (So Far) May 20, 2025 — The Premier League referred Leicester City to an independent Commission over three alleged financial rule breaches (P&S for 2023/24, late accounts, lack of cooperation). Late November 2025 — The independent Commission hearing on those charges began. Dec 2025 / Early 2026 — Media reports say a decision could be handed down before Christmas 2025 or early in the new year. As of Jan 2026, no official decision or sanctions have yet been publicly announced by the Premier League or the Commission. ➡️ So the answer is no — sanctions have not yet been announced or applied. 📜 What the PSR/P&S Rules Say About Timing 🧾 1. No strict deadline once a hearing starts When a case goes to an independent Commission, the relevant rules (e.g., Premier League Rule W.83 under the 2024/25 Handbook) don’t prescribe a fixed deadline by which the Commission must decide. Instead, the Commission sets its own timetable and then makes its final decision public once reached. The process is “confidential and heard in private,” so only after the Commission finishes and issues its ruling does the League publish it. 🧾 2. Deadlines for submitting accounts affect when charges can be laid Separately to sanctions, PSR/P&S require clubs to submit accounts by 31 December after years with losses beyond thresholds. If those accounts show breaches, the League must decide whether to charge before enforcing sanctions. But even after accounts are submitted, the rules don’t fix a later deadline by which sanctions must be applied — they simply allow the disciplinary process to run. 🧾 3. Rule changes now say sanctions can be applied during a season After the legal challenge to PL jurisdiction — and rule amendments from 2025/26 — sanctions can be applied at any time, including during the current Championship season, if a breach is found. • This was not always clear under old wording, and was part of why Leicester successfully fought a previous PSR charge for 2022/23 — the PL hadn’t closed the “loophole” about jurisdiction and timing. 🧾 4. No rule saying sanctions must be applied before a certain matchday or part of the season Unlike EFL in-season financial penalties in some other countries, the PL rules don’t say “points deductions must be applied before matchday X.” Instead, the Commission’s eventual judgement itself determines when it and the League will apply sanctions. 📌 So What Does That Mean for Leicester? ✅ Should sanctions be done by now? Not necessarily — because the independent Commission only recently finished or is still deliberating, and the rules don’t set a firm deadline once a hearing starts. ✅ Has an announcement been made? No — there has not been a public announcement of decision or sanctions yet (as of Jan 2026). ✅ Can sanctions still be applied later this season? Yes — under the updated rules, any sanctions (including points deductions) can be applied during Leicester’s current Championship season if the Commission rules against them. 🧠 What This Means for Fans 📍 Leicester’s case is still live — there is no final verdict or sanctions yet. 📍 The timing for sanctions is not fixed by the rules; the independent Commission decides when to issue its ruling, and the League publishes it after that. 📍 Under current rule wording, any sanctions confirmed can be applied whenever the Commission says they should be, including mid-season.

CHAT GPT/AI breakdown on this situation: 🔎 Summary: Leicester City & Financial Rule Issues 📌 What rules are involved Premier League Profitability & Sustainability Rules (PSR) • Apply to Premier League clubs. • Limit: clubs can’t lose more than £105m over a rolling 3-year period (before “add-backs”). (RTL Today) • Breaches can trigger fines and points deductions. (Premier League) English Football League Profit & Sustainability Rules (P&S Rules) • Apply in the Championship. • Lower loss limit than the PL: roughly £39m + adjustments for PL seasons included in the period (effectively much stricter). (Reddit) • Breaches can also lead to sanctions (fines or points). (Premier League) 🧩 Leicester’s Current Charges Leicester City FC has been formally charged by the Premier League and referred to an Independent Commission for three alleged breaches: (Premier League) Alleged breach of the EFL Championship P&S Rules for the 2023/24 season This is the main financial accusation the PL is pursuing. (Premier League) Failure to submit audited annual accounts by the required deadline (31 Dec 2024) Premier League claims LCFC didn’t comply with reporting rules. (Premier League) Failure to provide full and prompt assistance to the League in their investigation Second administrative charge. (Premier League) ⚠️ Independent Commission proceedings are confidential, so the details haven’t been publicly released yet. (Premier League) 📆 What’s already happened (brief timeline) 2023–24: Leicester in Championship; possible P&S breach. (Sky Sports) Late 2024: Legal dispute about jurisdiction over PSR breaches. Leicester won a previous appeal about the 2022/23 accounts because PL didn’t have jurisdiction at that time. (Reddit) May 20, 2025: Premier League officially referred new charges to Independent Commission. (Premier League) Nov 2025: Hearing on these charges began. (Wikipedia) Late 2025 / Early 2026: Decision from the Commission (including any sanctions) is expected. (Wikipedia) 📌 LSU – Jurisdiction Explained (why PL is involved even though LCFC is now in Championship) A separate Arbitration Tribunal decided the Premier League does have jurisdiction to investigate Leicester for the 2023/24 P&S Rules breach because the EFL transferred responsibility when Leicester were promoted. (Premier League) That means the PL’s independent Commission can determine if there was a breach and what the sanctions are — even though the club is not currently in the Premier League. (Premier League) ⚠️ Possible Sanctions (if found guilty) Points deduction is explicitly on the table — along with other sanctions such as fines. (Premier League) Here’s what has been suggested from reporting and interpretation of the rules: (Sky Sports) 3 points deducted for each proven charge E.g., 3 charges → up to 9 points in theory. (This estimate comes from how PSR point penalties have been interpreted — similar to other clubs such as Everton and Nottingham Forest.) (Sky Sports) If the P&S breach is large (well above the loss limit), that can increase the penalty under league practice — but we don’t know exact details yet. (Sky Sports) Penalties can be applied at any time, even while Leicester remain in the Championship. (Premier League) 📌 No official points deduction has been imposed yet. It is still pending the independent Commission judgment. (Sky Sports) 📊 Relevant Rule Concepts (explained simply) PSR (Premier League): Clubs must report financial accounts by 31 December (for relevant years). (RTL Today) Profit & Loss is assessed across three years, with permitted losses capped (typically £105m for PL). (RTL Today) “Add-backs” meaning approved costs that don’t count against the loss figure (infrastructure, youth, women’s football, etc.). (Reddit) If clubs exceed limits, sanctions (including point deductions) are possible. (Premier League) P&S Rules (EFL): Similar idea, with lower loss limits. (Reddit) Breaches can also lead to sanctions. (Premier League) 🔁 Could this affect Leicester later? Yes — if the Commission finds breaches, points deductions could be imposed and applied to the current Championship season or future seasons. (Premier League) Leicester’s accounting and sales activity (Barnes, Castagne, Dewsbury-Hall, etc.) impacts their compliance numbers and how close they are to the limits, but that’s part of the technical accounting side and currently confidential. (The Guardian) 📌 Key Points for Fans ✔ Leicester is officially charged with financial rule breaches — three charges. (Premier League) ✔ The matter is before an independent Commission (not yet decided). (Premier League) ✔ Points deduction is one of the possible penalties (but not yet applied). (Premier League) ✔ Decision expected late 2025/early 2026. (Wikipedia) ✔ Rule limits include three-year loss caps, add-backs, and reporting deadlines that all factor into any breach determination. (RTL Today)

Meanwhile Boubakary Soumare was rejected by the same club Boubakary Soumare was supposed to be on his way to Côte d'Azur (the French Riviera) as well. Lucky guys! Although, it appears the Frenchman won't be in the Casino de Monte-Carlo spending that unbelievable £80,000-per-week he took home on Filbert Way just yet:

I asked google AI what Harry Winks playing style is, and I got: Harry Winks' playing style is that of a deep-lying, technical central or defensive midfielder, known for his excellent short passing, vision, control in tight spaces, and calmness under pressure, often compared to Spanish playmakers like Xavi and Iniesta for his ability to dictate tempo and retain possession, though he can sometimes be criticized for lacking defensive bite or concentration. Key Characteristics: Passing & Control: A master of quick, precise short passes, he excels at building play from the back and keeping the ball moving efficiently in congested areas. Positional Play: Intelligent positioning allows him to receive the ball from defenders and find space, acting as a pivot. Tempo Setter: He dictates the rhythm of the game with his distribution, controlling possession. Comparisons: Often likened to Spanish midfielders Xavi and Iniesta due to his technical skill and composure. Strengths: High passing accuracy, good vision, likes to play short, likes layoffs, and is strong in possession. Weaknesses: Can be weak in concentration and doesn't often dive into tackles, preferring to intercept or position himself well. In essence, Winks is a metronome, a player who provides stability and creativity from deep, enabling more attacking players to flourish by consistently recycling possession and finding forward passes. AI is not correct, some of should not worry about AI taking our jobs for at least a few more years.

He needs to go. Who we replace him with I have no idea. This team has no real structure on the pitch it seems. The playing style is all over the place, at times for me at least it's hard to even tell what the player positioning is on the pitch and for who do to what. Not sure everyone would agree with me but a good number of the goals it seems are just a player taking a chance themselves, nothing wrong with scoring goals of course. But it's just not making a lot of sense to me with him in charge.
