Indeed. I was hoping he'd provide a bit of insight into our PSR situation, but he didn't seem to know much at all.

He did say that, but shortly after that he said: "They're not in a great place financially, but they're not in a terrible one either. They simply have to box clever." Overall it was difficult to get a clear picture of what he actually believes to be the state of our finances. He didn't even seem certain about the fact that we've been charged for 23/24 (he said "my understanding is that they're potentially facing a charge"). It didn't clarify anything.

There are no circumstances in which a wrongly awarded penalty can be regarded as ‘fair’. The fact that you also saw it wrong doesn’t change that. The reason VAR was brought in at higher levels of the game was to deal with terrible decisions like yesterday’s. And it’s not going away.

It doesn’t. The truth is even scarier: the refs really are that shit in this division.

If we were creating good chances, you might be able to put it down to player wastefulness. But we're not - the problem is that we're very easy to defend against and so are restricted to attempting shots that are unlikely to come off.
