  1. My kids will be leaving a Pad Thai and a Singha beer out before they go to bed on Tuesday night. I expect to be woken up at 4am by excited voices and cries of, "Have they sacked him then?!"
  2. Precisely.
  3. Did you actually expect the club to put out an official statement saying, “Yeah we’re gonna sack Ruud but we have to wait until 1July because we’re in the shit with PSR again”?
  4. Tragic death of Vichai, swiftly followed by a global pandemic that decimated tourism in Thailand?
  5. It has also been reported a few times that there is no release clause in his contract, so it's difficult to be sure on this one.
  6. QPR fans rate him very highly. They seem to regard the way he turned them around in 23/24 as little short of a miracle. Supposedly he likes to play possession football but is tactically flexible and puts a strong emphasis on a solid defence. I wouldn't be averse, personally.
  7. I think this is probably right. We moved to Seagrave in the period after Vichai's death when things were already starting to unravel under Rodgers. It may not have been obvious on the pitch at that point, but the decline had set in. Maresca didn't seem to have any issues creating a strong culture at Seagrave, and if we appoint the right candidate it can be done again.
  8. And that claim was based solely on a six-week-old story that Alan Nixon used to pad out his actual story (that RVN would be sacked on 1 July). I can't escape the feeling that these Dyche rumours are being given far more credibility than they deserve...
  9. Didn't the Sun story that prompted all this speculation around Dyche say that he wanted to wait until we had confirmation over the points deduction before committing? And given that we very likely won't hear anything on the PSR punishment for several months, wouldn't this rule him out (assuming the story was true)?
  10. Did that appointment really please the fanbase? I clearly remember feeling an impending sense of doom when I first heard the news...
  11. A self-styled 'sports journalist' on X with 37 followers claimed that Ricardo's agent said that Ricardo wants to leave. It was about as much of a non-story as you can get.
  12. They don’t. We are privately owned by the Srivaddhanaprabha family, not the King Power group. This insulates us to a degree from KP’s troubles, but obviously any loss of wealth for the Srivaddhanaprabha family will hurt us.
  13. You are not wrong.
  14. It's not wasting money if it gets you a better candidate. I don't want Dyche at any price so the fact that he's available for free doesn't cut much ice with me - especially as his wage demands are likely to be higher than Rohl's.
  15. I don't think Dyche would be given much leeway at all. A large chunk of the fanbase will absolutely hate the appointment if if happens and will turn on him very quickly if he doesn't deliver. If we didn't make a good start under him, it would become toxic very quickly. I think there would be more good will towards Rohl because he's a bit of an unknown quantity and has less baggage.
  16. We can pay compensation from 1st July onwards - that's just over a week away.
  17. You watch him.
  18. Unfortunately missed most of this one but tuned in for the last 10mins or so. What was all the handbags after the game about? Seemed like there was a bit of needle…
  19. It’s amazing how many Leicester fan accounts on X have missed this basic point. The only new bit in Nixon’s story is his claim that RVN will be sacked on 1 July (which most people would have expected anyway). He then pads the article out by rehashing a previous story from six weeks ago which stated that Dyche was in the frame. But it seems lots of people have honed in on the rehashed bit and are treating it as a new story…
  20. Just when you thought this club couldn’t get any weirder…
  21. I don’t think so.
  22. So they’re making a general, non-football-related comment on the weather (which seems an odd thing for a football club to do) and using pictures of last summer’s pre-season to do so, thereby giving the false impression that the players are back in pre-season this summer? I think that goes beyond a bit odd…
  23. When Alan Nixon promises to have a story relating to a club, it’s usually a crappy transfer rumour that fails to materialise.
  24. Why would we possibly go for Gerrard?
  25. Presumably the terms of his contract would prevent him from joining another club for an extended period after quitting - possibly even for the full duration of his contract. Otherwise release clauses wouldn’t be worth the paper they’re written on.
