It doesn't. But would you be surprised if they still hadn't spoken to him? Because I wouldn't...
-
Unfortunately fake. That's a pic of him arriving for his loan spell there back in 2018.
-
Is he for anybody?

Numerous stories suggest Martin wants the Rangers job but is up against Ancelotti, who is currently favourite. The final decision will be taken by Rangers' new owner, but he hasn't completed his takeover yet. If we really are Martin's back-up plan, personally I'd prefer we tell him to stick it.
-
If there is a release clause or the player is pushing hard for an exit, you may be right. I'm just saying I don't think the club will push for the move if BEK is happy to stay.
-
Barnes was pure profit. BEK was only purchased last summer and still has around £16m book value, which means that selling him for £21-25m would not help us much from a PSR perspective. I don't think anybody is arguing he's worth £30-35m, just that it would have to be around that for us to gain much in PSR terms.
-
He might well be. But it also wouldn't be a shock if it doesn't turn out to be him. Every time we change manager - at least in recent years - it seems that one name leads the pack to the point at which everybody thinks it's done and dusted, and then somebody else gets the job. Before we appointed Enzo it was Scott Parker, who the media had basically crowned as our new manager. I remember one Leicester-supporting self-styled ITK on twitter claiming that Parker had signed the contract and was at Seagrave having his media pics done. Then a few hours later we found out it was Maresca. I'm not saying this will necessarily happen this time, but it wouldn't be a shock if it did.

Good theory.

I can understand why waiting until we officially become a Championship club will help in terms of paying compensation to another club for their manager, but why would it be advantageous to wait until then to sack RVN? Surely if there’s a clause in his contract that enables us to give him a lower pay-off if we get relegated, it would have already been activated?
-
Did the person mention why, if it's 100% done, the club has not even announced RVN's departure—let alone Martin's arrival?

Premier League has charged LCFC with an alleged breach of PSR
ClaphamFox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Plus the level of breach will be lower than it would have been if we’d kept him. -
Bilal's book value means we'd make hardly any money by selling him at close to the price we paid for him, making such a deal useless from a PSR perspective. While we may not get high fees for the players you mention, several of them will leave, which will free them from the wage bill. Mads will probably go as his book value is around £2.5m and we will be able to make a decent profit on him, making it a no-brainer from a PSR perspective. I suspect Fatawu will stay as his injury this year will prevent anybody from offering what we'd demand for him. Bilal will very likely go if somebody offers £35m, but there's not a chance we sell him for a similar price that we paid for him - it wouldn't benefit us at all.
-
Why would we sell him for around what we paid for him?
-
I can't recall us ever announcing the sacking of a manager at the same time as revealing his replacement, so on that basis you'd think the club will announce RVN's departure first. Yet it's now three days after the end of the season and RVN remains in post. Why would the club delay announcing RVN's departure if it has definitely decided to sack him? What purpose would it serve? Unless of course they really are trying to push his compensation until the next accounting period - which should begin on 1 July but I believe may possibly be adjusted to 1 June...
-
I understand why people are cynical about the people who run our club, but this assumption that they're literally the stupidest people in the world and are incapable of learning anything at all and will therefore make the same mistake over and over again seems a bit overdone to me. Maybe I'm just naïve.
-
And look how that turned out. Is it not possible the club will now understand that recruiting a manager on the cheap is not the best option?
-
If this drags on much longer without any announcement, it will start to look like they are after somebody already in a job but don't want to pay the compo until the new accounting period has started on 1 July.
-
There is no way that the club and Martin will be unaware of the backlash, particularly given the chants on Sunday. Maybe this has caused either the club or Martin, or both, to have second thoughts - hence no announcement despite TalkSport saying three days ago it was imminent.
-
THIS Friday is the 30th. Next Friday is the 6th.
-
Probably fans of other clubs.

In Southampton's Championship season under Martin they conceded 63 goals in 46 games—only two less than Birmingham, who were relegated. They came 4th because they scored a lot of goals. Trying to outscore the opposition might work if most teams you face during the season have inferior players, but it absolutely won't work when your players are worse than those of every other club in the division. The fact that Martin either did not realise this, or did realise it but decided not to do anything about it, should automatically disqualify him from even being considered to manage us.
-
That’s always the case. If he comes back in and plays well, hardly anybody will care about his spat with RVN.

Sure, but I guarantee you that the bookies do not have any inside information on what kind of points deduction we will get. So the fact that they're predicting us to come 7th does not tell us anything about what's going to happen with any PSR breach sanction.
-
The bookies don't decide on points deductions. The odds just reflect betting patterns, which have been influenced by people reading about potential points deductions. They don't mean anything other than that.
