Spain vs France - Tuesday, 9th July @ 20:00
AjcW replied to DJ Barry Hammond's topic in General Football and Sport
I'm intruigued as to how good a manager De La Fuente is. Basically given a career of service to club and international youth teams until being given the Spain senior gig. 63 already but could be an intruiguing end to his career if he decides to give senior club management a go. -
If his announcement video isn't them following him round Asda doing his big shop, I don't want it.

You think that's bad. My comments unravelling the sham sponsorship deal still haven't been deleted of the clubs LinkedIn post
-
I don't mate, I live here just a running joke
-
I wonder where abouts in Nottingham he will live.

They could have easily worded something in a particular way, such as "clear links to how questionable this company is and whether it's even a real company" or "we're worried that we appear to be being sponsored by a brand whose holding company is listed in a tax haven for no apparent reason" Not lible that is it, just questions/opinions backed up by research.

I think the point a lot of people are missing (including the trust.... surprise surprise) is that it's not just the gambling element, it's the fact this is us clearly illegally funneling money into the club through our owners. We're the little guys, when this comes crashing down it'll be us that gets the book thrown at us, not the top teams. It's us, Crystal Palace, Everton, Wolves who are all doing these dodgy deals. Not the big teams.

Sorry, you think "made up crypto.com" have £10m a year to sponsor a Premier League team?
-
If that isn't per season then I don't see the point of the whole charade. They could of easily convinced the Premier League that King Power investing £10m a season for front of shirt is fair market value!
-
"Leicester City owners invest £31m into club through fake gambling company"
-
@Foxes_Trust it’s a start but… any reason there’s zero mention of the fact this is clearly the club using a money laundering front to funnel money into the club and skirt Premier League fair market value rules?
-
The variation of the logo that has been used on the shirt isn't currently registered in the UK. It's not been registered in the last 2 weeks either (which is what has happened with other clubs dodgy dealings) I did think it was strange that it's a logo that doesn't appear anywhere else on any BC Game assets. On the other hand, I guess that technically means we could do terrible things to it and wouldn't be infringing on any copy laws.....

I spoke to one of them last night. He had a go at the new Crystal Palace one and they went for him. Full apology and retraction! Never happened to him before. So he’s lying low for a bit.

If you look on LinkedIn, the majority of their "Employees" have never had another job, even the ones claiming to be 'head of' or 'chief' of something. The fella from the press release the other day has only ever worked for one other company, which was coincidentally one of these 'how to set up a gambling front' consultancies.
-
I think the simplest way of putting it is we are being sponsored by King Power, without being sponsored by King Power. - If King Power sponsor us, they're restricted to a 'fair market value' sum imposed by the Premier League, for a newly promoted team that's probably quite low. - However if a random company decides they want to sponsor us for £60m (this is a one season deal by the way), the Premier League has no say in that, the restriction is only on entities owned by/invested in by the same people who own the football club. So in this instance, an offshore tax avoidance firm has purchased a questionable crypto gambling site. Usually they'd use it to clean money but in this instance it seems likely KP have put £x into the fund and have then coincidentally ( ) received that amount back by getting the gambling site to sponsor us.
-
I don’t think many will be. There’s a fairly simple loophole that asks for “fair market value” from sponsors part owned by club owners. Newcastle have done it with Sela recently. I’d assume we probably had to do it while justifying king power too. Does make me wonder why we couldn’t do it again. I think to me that shows this “sponsorship” is filling a £30-50m hole and therefore KP wouldn’t have met the fair market value requirements. Disappointed we’ve literally gone down a fraud route though!!
