How many signings will we make before the end of the transfer window?
Cropwellfox replied to Tuna's topic in Transfer Talk
We will want 4 or 5 but I guess will depend on whether we can get Soumaré and Thomas out the door and whether there is a loan option for Cannon which might see us getting an extra forward in. If we can’t exit players it’ll likely just be 2 or 3 max -
Likely to be a number of times where he’ll pick 3 x DMs so we will need depth in this position. Surely not even Rudderlesskin would be going for this instead of attacking options so as long as we are on with other business it’s a decent signing. He’ll strengthen our first XI and is a decent player who’s got plenty of minutes in a team and squad way way better than ours.
-
Skipp and 2 attacking players who would go straight into the XI wouldn’t be too bad, here’s hoping
-
Hopefully this means there’s a loan exit for Soumaré incoming. Get the waste of a wage out the club
-
Hasn’t been all season, obvs going somewhere, just prob not to us
-
Phillips and Cajuste in particular will make a difference to their midfield. Reckon they’ll still be bringing a couple more in as well after Szmodics.
-
We now aren’t even getting linked to anyone who we’ll be excited about for 3 days before our chips are pissed on. Silence

Booth is a strange one, thought he may have kicked on or at least been around the 1st team squad pre season, absolutely no sign of him anywhere. -

One little thought is just imagine how much worse it would have been had we not been promoted if they’ve ****ed it up this badly with the new sponsorship, prem TV money etc etc at their disposal. Doesn’t bear thinking about. At this point looking at the utter incompetence of Rudkin and our batshit crazy approach to recruitment and the relative strength of every other team in the division I would just abandon any hope of staying up this season and focus on a clean break next season using parachute money to bring in strong champ level players, to complement Braybrooke, Alves, Nelson and Stolarczyk and try and get the supporters excited and engaged with the club again. Don’t saddle us with more shite this season we won’t be able to shift and won’t want to be here next. it’s a fools errand and our squad is already saturated with people who will want to **** off when we are relegated. No more please. Make no mistake we won’t be this seasons Sheffield United, we will be significantly worse than that. Buckle in for 9 months of being laughed at with in particular Ipswich, Forest and Southampton fans taking the absolute piss out of us .
-
Exactly it. Whereas we’ll end up with a CB who’ll want to leave and end up on loan for the following 3 years, a guy who won’t have the legs for a championship season, a winger we’ve probably put a stupid release clause into contract and a youngster who’ll have **** all minutes this season ready for a big role next. It’s almost like they are trying to harm the club further
-
Both Southampton and Ipswich are recruiting really well this summer, fair play to them giving themselves a decent chance.

Worst season in the clubs history incoming.

Completely outdone all ends up by Ipswich in the market. Well done to them, meanwhile we are beyond parody. Absolute disgrace, appalling mismanagement just goes on and on and on.- 204 replies

Teasing the 3rd kit. Their PR dept is so utterly out of tune with the fans it’s actually funny. No chance anyone signs anything tomorrow other than a fat new contract for someone we’ve got already -
I’m one of the biggest pessimists there is but not even I thought we could be so inept that in the week after our manager publically pleads for help and a striker is potentially long term injured we’ve not managed to do any business at all ahead of the start of the season given they’ve had since late April to work out where they need to strengthen. Utterly beyond belief. Useless.

Quite liked the ‘Rudkin’s a **** ole ole’ chant from the Blackburn game. Catchy and accurate.
-
His press conference will be a laugh a minute. Bingo card here -: We need more help for the players that are here -: We will have to continue to play players out of position -: The players know they need help -: we don’t have enough depth -: We’ll have to go with what we’ve got -: We’ll need the fans on board with us -: I don’t really know what’s going on about new signings -: I hope we’ll be able to get something done soon -: Spurs are a really good side and Ange is a great manager -: We’ll do our best to be on the front foot

The saddest thing is the face saving, self protection-based culture which is clearly endemic within the leadership of the club. Organisations all have times of stress and challenge and success is often defined by how you lead through them. What’s pretty much a matter of fact is we’ve been brought to our knees financially by a number of terrible decisions, in player acquisition, salary and contract extension, maybe through complacency, maybe incompetence, likely a mixture. Not helped by some very bad decisions impacting supporters. So come out and acknowledge it. Own the mistakes, tell the fans you are deeply sorry and accountable for the failings. Change some of the people involved. Admit that in order to make sure that there’s no threat of punitive action by EPL and EFL in future this 12 months is going to be brutal. We won’t be able to give the manager the squad depth they probably need. Take responsibility for that but then make some inroads to repairing the fractured relationship with supporters. Not warm lager twice a year, but meaningful initiatives to get new supporters in and reward loyalty of others - not £10 for a piss poor friendly. Come out and call out that we need a siege mentality, we need to make things horrible for opposition teams, direct complaints and frustrations at the ownership and the directors not at the manager of players. Again, own the failure. We get none of this from Rudkin, Whelan or Top, just free tickets for influencers and a social media strategy up there with the worst I’ve ever seen. No wonder people are completely deflated

Probably before we get a decent player in.

Groundhog Day. Sooner the pricks running the football operations at the club move on the better.

Yep that’s the summer window comparison there. Absolute shitshow which pretty much led to 5 years of shite. History repeating itself. -
