You're right, to an extent in the way of not changing much, like Ranieri, it's what the players knew, it's what they'd been doing, then you change or implement things slowly, but i'm gonna play devils advocate, if Enzo was still here or even whether he'd gone but we continued to play that way do you think we'd be better off than we currently are? Because I don't. And i'm being genuine there, I honestly don't think we'd have had any more than 3 points or even if we'd have 3 points at all, I also think we'd have been on the back of a few hammerings playing that way.

It's not good enough, he needs to improve and change, quickly. However I really don't get the negativity and idiots running on the pitch when as a club and fanbase (On a whole*) gave Rodgers a free ride happy clapping away or sitting in silence. *Those that didn't, got abuse shouted at them, people wanting to fight with them and literally spat at. Let's have some decorum.

So, playing devils advocate (And I know full well i'm gonna get pelters and people rolling their eyes full well knowing what i'm getting at but...) "Who we gonna get?" and "Be careful what you wish for" (Southgate's waiting in the wings, or we gonna go chasing Potter again?). Those two statements aren't a reason for keeping Cooper, but neither were they when giving Rodgers for 2 years longer than we should, yet those questions need answering and/or countering. Perhaps people should have been careful what they wished for and Cooper being appointed is a by-product of that, as was our massive drop in the food chain.

Bolton last week, Huddersfield this week. Things you love to see, keep doing it lads, keep doing it. Years ago you’d have been laughed at on blooper reels, nowadays it’s applauded.
-
Let's have it right, more people than not slagged him off to **** when he was Wolves manager and turned their noses up at him when suggested as an option for us.
-
“He’s a low end manager at this level”, “A club of our stature.” Hmmm, not sure how to break this to you…

And there I was naively thinking players could think for themselves. We truly are in the age of robotic football.

I mean considering we (me included) went into the game against Spurs in pretty much universal agreement expecting a hammering, I think the result of a draw can be considered positive and that it worked. Yesterday, we'd (I, certainly) would have took a draw before the game (Many were, again, expecting a hammering but that just seems a lazy, perma-prediction and hope in order to chuck shit on here atm), given the circumstances of how it panned out I admit is disappointing, however as discussed in the Palace thread, 3 times in our last 7 games there we've surrendered a 2-0 lead, that doesn't justify what happened yesterday or even justify Coopers decisions, but its something that has happened before even playing differently and a way people lauded - which was imo an equally crazy way to play a game.
-
It worked in the Tottenham game, but it seems that has to caveated by "They had numerous chances and could have beat us 3, 4 or 5". Nope. They didn't. Can't have it both ways.

65 yellow cards in the Premier League this weekend.

Bloody Cooper!
-
How negative!
-
Referees' losing control of games more and more. 9 in our game v Villa. 14 cards in the Bournemouth v Chelsea game last night. 7 before HT in the Tottenham v Arsenal game. These games aren't even fiesty or 'nasty' with any rash tackles in them. I've never known football so nicey, nicey and santised, yet cards are being handed out like confetti.

After claiming 'we've not got it in us as a fanbase', this is unfortunately going to turn toxic and negative. However, we should have be long past that, that should have happened years ago, if it turns toxic and negative now it's like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted.

Bolton Magnificent.

This squad has more fight, not better though. As much as that pains me to say because that was a very unlikeable bunch - and not in a good way. Would be interesting to see the two teams play each other though because I think the fight this team has would trump the half arsed performances they gave at the time, despite the talent.
-
It seems a very, very long time since I can remember us not being soft. That's not me saying it isn't a Cooper issue but we've been soft long before Cooper arrived.
-
Wouldn't say love, far from it, i'm indifferent and i'll criticise where I see fit - For starters as I mentioned in the match thread, I don't condone 3 DMF's and that has got to stop as i'm sure there will be much more to criticise as the season goes on, but I certainly don't get the outrage given the patience and leeway others were given. I think maybe i'm just abit further ahead of everyone re-adjusting to where we are - I accepted it a few years ago. Where as it seems most are struggling to realise, adjust, or accept how we've fallen.
-
I'm confused. Retaining the ball yet doing nothing with it is all Southgate was bothered about, point being the problem. I don't see the comparison.
-
Well a hammering would have resulted in 0 points, so point gained?
-
That's your prerogative.
-
Gutting to have drawn given the position we were in. But, where was the hammering everyone was going on about and predicting? Missed those hammerings by Spurs and Villa too. Meh.
-
Precisely my point. He's saying it invited pressure upon us. What's the alternative? No-one mentioned how we used to constantly invite pressure upon ourselves.
-
A yard stick of how toxic and negative this place has become is that i'm one of the more positive people on here at the moment.
-
Ah so that's inviting the opposition on to us... What's playing out do then?
