  1. Sure. Because that’s the only alternative.
  2. It was an awful tournament barr the first week, Spain and I think special credits to Georgia, Albania and Turkey. But, that's where modern football is at.
  3. In other news. Front footed football. Spain played some long balls, industrial, direct, horrible hoofball (aka pinged balls in this modern game). Trumps the shite football has become. Vamos! Change is coming!....I hope
  4. I’m sorry but if you’re Watkins, Palmer or Toney you’re not bothered but at the same time the most angry. They’re the players who have been the least trusted but arguably most important. If I were them I’d be following Vardy’s attitude of “don’t bother selecting me mate”.
  5. Yeah, guess that's a fair point i'd not considered.
  6. Never understood European games kicking off at 7.45/8.00pm kick offs (Even in Champions League games for example), it seems very UK/England centric as most of Europe are an hour ahead are they not? I guess it's coincidental, i'm sure they don't pander purely to UK/England time. There may be other reasoning and I may be showing ignorance here but you'd have thought they'd go with a majority of those an hour ahead of GMT/BST. (Unless theres less than I thought ahead of us)
  7. It's brilliant, before I go any further of course I want England to win and be a success but because i'm not as invested or bothered about England I can afford to become the WUM, I can have abit of a laugh and I can take a step back to take the moral highground. I genuinely do think Southgate's done a decent job, it's dull as ****, it's not enjoyable but without actually getting any success (yet), he's the most successful England manager in most people's lifetimes. With the players available perhaps there should be expectations and perhaps he should be doing more but that's where football is at, it's a sad indictment of where the game is at and *that* is the crux of the point, but do I think we've had better a players in the past and should have done more previously? Without a doubt.
  8. I like how he speaks, or certainly being reported of how he's speaking and implementing things. Something we've lacked in recent years but simple, fundamental parts of what I expect. Whether he'll be allowed to successfully implement them or whether he'll be forced to pretend we're something we're not is another thing.
  9. I'll be honest no. I'm not bothered enough or invested enough in England to really care. So much so I can afford to play devils advocate (aka a 'WUM' if you will) and those who stuck up for Rodgers and called the likes of me 'entitled' can say the same to those who slag Southgate off. What I will say is Southgate has probably been the most successful manager in recent times, got us to a final, semi final, I think he's got us to a final or quite far in that Nations League bullshit. It's dull as fuck, but that's the modern game, I don't like, neither do I think Southgate is the right man, he's got to go, but will much change? Doubt it.
  10. There's always the block feature, that'd be even more productive for you
  11. @Guest instead of laughing put your point forward, have a discussion. Tell me how this is acceptable or furthermore exciting?
  12. Football can't go on like this this. Weren't people preaching that this way of playing supposed to be sustainable? Bullshit.
  13. But it is? And this isn't a slight on the club or powers that be, it's a slight on PSR. I'll ask the question again, what is sustainable when PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules) when you're forced to sell player who have comes through your academy? A player who in KDH's case went on record to say he wanted to stay. The silly contracts we've handed out, the money we've wasted, allowing and giving Rodgers too much power, the keys to the club, refusing to sack him, resulting in our relegation and ultimately the mess we find ourselves in I get. Hang, draw and quarter us, I want someone to take accountability for that, i'm still seething about the situation. But there is nothing 'sustainable' about clubs being forced to sell academy products, they aren't the problem and it certainly isn't the answer.
  14. I was thinking this the other day. I remember last deadline day someone was crying to me about it saying how "FFP has ruined it all, transfer deadline day used to be exciting and something to look forward to"....really? It's a farce, a saga, it's been made into a TV drama. Cringeworthy.
  15. Not going over old ground or making this thread into something else but I mean it when you break it down it was 2 good half seasons, 2 awful half seasons, the red flags and writing was on the wall was there to be seen. Tbf and my memory may serve me incorrect because my mind is sketchy over his tenure because I was so disenchanted and disillusioned with the situation but the new contract/giving him power and the keys to the club came quite soon into his tenure because Arsenal were sniffing. As for people saying scrap FFP, I have no problem with it aslong as its used across the board, correctly (but it's not and it never will), but the rules only seem to apply to the 'smaller' clubs. Ultimately we broke the rules, I won't have it any other way and I want people at the club to take some accountability. The same people who gave Rodgers the power, backed him and refused to sack him, resulting in relegation, resulting in compounding the situation we find ourselves in. Where we can argue is against it are when other clubs are seemingly allowed to spend with gay abandon. Much like VAR I thought FFP was needed and to be implement to level the playing field, my thoughts were that there would be nowhere for the big clubs to hide, yet VAR and FFP seem to being used to help the bigger clubs furthermore.
  16. No-one gets a crowd going like Kasabian do. Quality.
  17. A few things I don’t understand. We’re being forced to sell KDH because of Profit and Sustainability rules, could someone explain what is sustainable about selling a player who’s come through your academy who apparently wants to stay at the club? Furthermore, because we need to sell to comply with Profit and Sustainability rules we have less bargaining power and he’s going for way below market value (Now, market value is a load of bollocks and he’s not worth market value but that’s another discussion entirely - average players are going in excess of £30 / £40m nowadays) Even furthermore to this it looks like we’re allowing and accepting an even worse deal which on the face of things makes no sense or reasoning to help our FFP/PSR situation.
  18. Why, how(!) has the modern game become so sterile and boring? This isn’t the same game we all fell in love with.
  19. Reckon this England team is duller than Leicester circa 2017 - 2024. That's some going!
  20. Nooo Scotland, Let's Party!
  21. I made this point the other week. In KDH we have an academy product, who says he wants to stay (I do believe him fwiw but talk is cheap and we've heard it from other players before) yet we might be forced to sell him to comply with Profit and Sustainability rules. How is that sustainable?
  22. Have I just read something right? Please tell me it's parody. Southgate claims the team lack the physical levels to execute his gameplan? His gameplan is ****ing walking football! The game is walking football nowadays, it's a stain of the 'modern game'! We're at a point where players are more skillful and fitter than ever before, yet they're wasted. (All around the world, not just England)
  23. It’s the way forward (there’s irony in that somewhere) ain’t it.
  24. It has, a breath of fresh air. I've been impressed with alot of the games. Many great goals, long strikes, forward play. Football generally (in recent years) and England speaking specifically....a different story.
