  1. Evans injured? Fight through that pain barrier Jonny!
  2. Impressed. Friday was a kick in the teeth but any loss isn't nice, given the start we've had we have no reason to complain about anything and as I said after Friday's game we'll need to use that as a positive to make us realise what we need to work on, humble us, ground us and a reality check. The football and attitude around the club is a breath of fresh air and after years of being made to hate my club and football in general I have that passion and enjoyment returning - and there is far more to that than just because we are winning games. Whilst I was critical of possession based football this is like a different game to what we've been accustomed too over the last few years, despite the jibes and jokes make of people saying "Forwards" this is forwards, it's exciting, it's enjoyable, whilst Enzo seems to have a plan and stick to the plan and whilst I do believe his mantra is 'If plan A isn't working, try harder' he is willing to mix it up, grind results out and play in different ways. The strange thing is and i'm finding it really bizarre is that i'm hearing people being vocal and more criticism about it than they were before. I'm just like what the **** we're you watching before when you were sat there seemingly happy with the slide.
  3. Surely all clubs need to get together and say they want VAR binning, put it to a vote, etc, i'm fairly confident a vote would go in favour of binning it. It may be argued we'd be left behind the rest of Europe/World (We don't tend to hear of their controversies whether that's because they don't have many or ignorance of not taking any notice), but when it's being used in the way it is in England it's not improving the game is it, especially when the rhetoric that this is "the best league in the world" Binning VAR won't get rid of controversies but it will get rid of an aid that is meant to avoid controversies causing even bigger controversies and something referees can continually hide behind.
  4. Wouldn't say last night was "playing football the Enzo way", it was at times exciting and entertaining, just not what I imagine he'd have wanted. Contradicting myself I do worry we look abit lost when it's not going our way/it's not going in, it happens but iirc it was similar against Hull, we were still creating chances, still having shots but we were rarely getting in the box. As i've mentioned in other threads, I think we were crying out for McAteer (And early), I'd have even been tempted to try Daka.
  5. .
  6. I’d have bought him on and quite early too.
  7. I’m not having him. I’m sorry, not good enough. Clumsy.
  8. Decent game, entertaining, exciting.(For the neutral). Disappointing, obviously. Thought it was a fairly even match but they slightly edged it, took their chance and were the better team. We were never scoring, it just wasn’t going to happen. It feels more of a kick in the teeth because Leeds are going to push us every step of the way and a win tonight would have felt like we could conquer anyone this season. But we didn’t and we have to use this to humble us, ground us (on and off the field - because whilst I’m fully on board with the excitement and optimism, I do feel we were perhaps getting abit above our stations all the debate on Twitter this week), we can use this as a positive to push on. Onto the next one!
  9. Might just book in to the holiday inn for tonight instead, probably get home at a similar time.
  10. No matter if it's a lesser league or opposition - we lose that last season (With the 'better' players we had last season).
  11. For all those claiming it was a crappy performance or a horrible game, appreciate it. Having the resilience to dig in, work, roll their sleeves up and grind out wins like that is what we've so desperately lacked in recent years.
  12. For all the 'leadership groups' Rodgers banged on about not one of them were leaders, that's on him as much as the individuals that were here (Not team, we didn't have a team last season, we had individuals), especially when you consider the narrative to a rebuild changed to a rebuild of the culture and mentality, he failed on that alone first and foremost. Opposed to now, where we're oozing with leaders, on and off the pitch, who want to be here, willing to dig in, willing to work for each other, as a team, being together and having a laugh, but knowing the time and place when the going gets tough and to knuckle down.
  13. Another fantastic win! Sounded like we had to be patient, didn't think we'd find a winner, especially when they went down to 10 but it came! And what a winner it was!
  14. I wouldn't say I get worked up about it but I do sit there and just think "How thick are you?!" Hey, Remembrance Day is approaching....let's see how people deal with the minutes silence/Last Post, that always confuses people, without fail.
  15. They’re shit but I kinda respect that they live and die by their own decisions and because they have no VAR they have to make a decision. It’s gonna be so hard readjusting back to refs hiding behind and leaving everything to VAR again (and still get it wrong).
  16. A real gritty, hard working, ground out performance, Oh how I’ve missed that in the last few years! Really enjoyed and can appreciate that! Credit to Sunderland, the best team we’ve played, also the dirtiest and ‘master of dark arts’. Constant shirt grabbing that the short man was oblivious too, awful ref. Another win and onto the next one!
  17. Everything's just a breath of fresh air. In the last few years i'd been made to hate my own club, team, players and football in general and there is far more to it than it being down to simply to winning games.
  18. Not seen or heard much of it but get in! What I have heard sounds decent and convincing, although there were a few nervy moments! Onto the next one, keep chasing and breaking those records!
  19. this Merseyside derby is a tough watch
  20. Shite. West Brom one of my fav aways, ruin's a good day on the beer by an early kick off. Birmingham was always going to be moved but i'd never ever considered it being moved to the Monday! A Friday/Sunday would have been acceptable.
  21. How's he getting on in the Champions League? Oh, wait.....
  22. As I said in the traffic thread the other day the roads, networks and infrastructure need considering and improving first and foremost before this actually goes ahead. The City can't cope as it is.
  23. That's fine by me. Better than 70% going nowhere like last season and beyond. Fwiw, I think we'll probably have around the 60% but actually be useful with it (Hopefully) as opposed to possession for possession sake as we'd become accustomed to in the Premier League.
