Perhaps this is one for the unpopular opinions thread, but I think Boris is doing well.

I would be grateful for that at the mo. Sales this week so far should be around £600. Actual sales this week - £10.99 Anybody wanna buy a nice Georgian silver tankard?
  3. I bet batwoman's got the virus.

What's wrong with the sun? It's where I get all my broad knowledge of current affairs from and helps to shape my world view. And it's got tits in it!

True. There's dozens of them strutting around in Foxton. I hate the pheasant shooting that goes on near me, I can't imagine what people get out of it. The only trouble is, the pheasants keeping pinching the food we leave out for our ducks! It's gone in seconds.
  6. A bit of a weak link in that side for me. Guppy on the left was a much more effective attacking force, I wished we could have had two of him. I was never really sure what Impey was good at. A quality RWB would have made a big difference to that team.

Interesting article and good news if true but it doesn't make sense to me. The death rate should be following the same curve as the infection rate, but obviously shallower, which is what is happening. If the Oxford model is true then the graph would shoot up straight away and the death rates would be higher, earlier. I think?

My worry, on a personal level, is not knowing what to expect. What I mean is, that the advice is to self isolate when you get symptoms. I'm happy to do that and I'm doing it anyway as far as possible. I don't want to add pressure to the NHS but at what point do you just soldier on and at what point do you know that you need medical help? It's a difficult one and a rhetorical question really, I'm not asking you to answer it, it's just a worry that I won't know what to do.

Shit, that sounds awful. I hope you beat this thing quickly. Just think, after it's gone, there's a good chance that you won't be able to get it again. If you're up to it, it would be good to let us know your experience of the whole thing when you're ready.

How are you today? Didn't you say that you have had symptoms yesterday?

Good for you, standing up for all us self-employed.... Just one question ... what's tax?
  13. I think it's about 2 weeks but I believe that you can book a redelivery online and ask them to take it to a neighbour if you know anyone that will take it for you. Now that I think about it, you may need the ref number on the little red card that they leave or failing that the tracking number. After 2 weeks it will be returned to sender.

I think an endemic disease is something that is widely found among a population, like flu, that our bodies know how to tackle. The point is, this is an entirely new virus, so not endemic.

The problem is not so much the auctions themselves, they can easily be managed online. I never go in person anyway. The problem is viewing. Each item is literally handled by hundreds of people. Ideal for spreading the virus.

I don't really have anything useful to add at the mo but I must say, if you can turn over £85k+ with just throughput and not sitting on any stock, that is a pretty impressive business model there. I've still got bits and pieces kicking around that weren't antique when I bought them but are now. I know it doesn't help you in this situation though.

I think we do a similar job from your previous posts. I sell antiques online. I am expecting sales to drop off a cliff. I mean when people are fighting over loo roll and bread, who wants to buy a Georgian teapot? So what happens to us? If sales plummet we are not unemployed so no help there, we don't have a salary so no help from the government scheme. I would just say that after expecting tumbleweeds to be blowing across my website, I have actually had a pretty good weekend - pretty normal levels of sales, so maybe the clouds will part and people will still buy my candlesticks and buy your watches? I dunno, but even then, our buying opportunities are diminished. All the antique fairs are cancelled, Newark was like Christmas for me. I don't know what will happen to auctions. I have thought about getting one of those job thingys that normal people have. Supermarkets are taking on loads of people due to demand, but I really don't want to do that. With regards your current work and commute, I would be looking to change that. You really don't want to get this thing. Can't you do your admin crap from home? Otherwise look for something more local or get creative. With all of this time on my hands, I think I'm gonna have a go at making stuff. Just need to come up with a good idea. Anyway, hope it picks up for you.

I've been watching some selling on ebay. The last one I watched for a six pack of loo roll sold for £66,000 - seriously. I can only imagine that they started off with a high price and people bid them up to a ridiculous level and won't pay as a protest against profiteering.
  19. That doesn't diminish his status for me. We were a shit show and he was a top half PL player. I don't begrudge him wanting to stay in the Premier League. Its not like he was hanging around airports or going on strike. I never questioned his commitment on the pitch. I think, even as a dyed in the wool Leicester fan, if I were in his position, I would want to leave Adam's Taylor-made shambles of a team to stay in the Premier League. Can't blame Muzzy for wanting that too.
  20. Don't wanna be a wet blanket and all but that sounds absolutely shite.
  21. Really? I think you need to elaborate.
  22. Loved Izzet. He and Lennon, or the Kray twins as they christened themselves, were the poster boys for that great 90s team. The two of them seemed to compliment each other and become a unit better than the sum of their parts. Lennon the ginger midfield dynamo, always on the ball or available, giving Izzet the protection to go forward and supply the flair, workrate and a good number of goals. Those twiglet legs belied a great deal of skill. Some magic Izzet moments for me: Watford away in the promotion season (1-0 win). Might have been his debut? He spotted some fans with fezes in his honour (Is that the plural of fez?) and jumped into the away end to meet them. Twatting a 25 yard screamer vs Spurs (2-0). The game where the fans all had placards imploring O'Neill to stay as he had been linked with Leeds. Solo breakaway goal v Villa away. Took the ball half the length of the pitch, nutmegging a Villa defender en route before finishing. My mate was a little miffed as it was a very late goal and gave us a 3-1 win. He had 2-1 as a correct score and scorer and lost £200. A player that will live long into the memories of those of us that saw him and will be talked about for years to come. Legend.
  23. So many good intentions. I just know that you will all be sitting in your pants eating monster munch watching Bargain Hunt.
  24. Ha! You've heard it before. It was Kenny Dalglish and Ian Botham anyway.
  25. You're right. Could've sworn it was at Stoke's ground. Anyway, apparently Stockport's home ground was closed because of crowd trouble (this is 1921!) and was played at Old Trafford. THe match immediately foolowed a game between Unired and Derby and the 13 attendance was recorded for the people who paid to come in in the couple of minutes between the two games. The supporters that paid to watch United could stay on and watch our game so there was actually a lot more supporters in the ground. Those that stayed on got to witness a thrilling 0-0 draw.
