  1. I was talking more about the players from the team that finished last season with 12 points (fernandes and Dibling). How is it possible that a team so bad could have two £40m players in it?
  2. How many mendys would it actually take to replace Kante? My guess would be about nine.
  3. The prices that Southampton, the second worst PL team in history, get for their duffers is mad!
  4. Haven't seen any of west ham's games and I don't intend to, but if Mads is struggling I would take no pleasure in it. Mads was great for us and he was lauded on these pages as the next big thing. It seems that now he has left, we've decided he's crap.
  5. You can't control that. But, in this case, if we have an unhappy player, reportedly on the cusp of downing tools, would the crowd booing his appearance help? Or would it be more likely to tip him over the edge?
  6. Oh we did. We bought Wout Fans as his replacement.
  7. We might have budgeted for losing Bilal, but I'd be surprised if we'd budgeted for losing mcateer, Coady, Justin and possibly VK. If so I reckon we'd be up on budget and certainly in terms of wages.
  8. Yes please! I mean, I know nothing about him but I just want to see a Leicester player with 'ZIDANE' on his back. We just need to go and get Trevor Ronaldo next, from Hartlepool.
  9. To be fair, after last season's Ayew and Edouard deals, I'd imagine they are astonished that we haven't caved in.
  10. Someone will have to let me know. Why exactly are we scared of Birmingham City?
  11. Southampton lost at home to ten man Stoke.
  12. I'm just pleased those boasting in the pre match thread of getting free money by betting on Charlton are down a few quid, You know who you are!
  13. Faes is emblematic of all that is wrong with the team - he is arrogant, he thinks he's better than he is, his wretched arm waving and has questionable commitment having wanted to jump ship for years. On top of all that, he is crap and almost universally loathed among the fans. The club cannot rebuild until the decks have been cleared of the toxic elements such as Faes, Vestergaard, Soumare and Coady. Hopefully Faes will become the second off that list.
  14. £23 million down the toilet!
  15. Such talk should be forbidden. I've heard enough about McAteer today too, that should also not be allowed. So that's Kasey and the sunshine banned. sorry.
  16. You seem to be saying that our fall from grace was inevitable. Personally, I think it was an act of cataclysmic self-harm. Or more accurately, a long list of successive acts of self-harm. Mistakes are inevitable but I think from the position we held, we could have lived with a few if we also made the occasional smart move alongside.
  17. Amartey and Ward were very much playing. Far too much in my opinion. I'm still in therapy about it. Praet and Vestergaard less so, but they are still examples of failed signings in that squad.
  18. Amartey, Ward, Praet, Vestergaard off the top of my head. Unless you're saying they're not good enough to be skybet?
  19. If we accept that bigger clubs will always take from clubs like ours there is still a way to be successful. We understood this well and it underpinned our post title success. Buying potential. I always think that you will do well as a PL club by buying the standout players of the league(s) below. Players like Maddison, Bowen etc. Also players with high ceilings on the way up. These kind of signings won't always work but it only takes a relatively modest hit rate to improve your team and then sell on for big bucks to the big clubs. Rodgers dismantled this approach, despite benefitting from the work of his predecessors, with his infamous 'silver medalist' strategy. Actively seeking out players that have failed along with an uncanny eye for a journeyman. Our calamitous post Puel transfer policy, along with the Rudkin contract clown show, is the reason we are now in this mess.
  20. The problem was that we signed Skybet league players on Europa League wages
  21. Bigger clubs preying on smaller has always happened, but a strange time to bring this up when the domestic cups were won by Crystal Palace and Newcastle last season.
  22. If I had to summarise our current plight in three sentences, I don't think I could Improve upon that.
  23. Yes, a bit of a personal bugbear this. Any criticism of a signing is met with the old chestnut that he hasn't kicked a ball for us yet, as if you're being totally unreasonable. That is not the point. I remember being an almost lone voice amid a sea of approval when we signed Perez, disappointed to replace Chilwell with a steady Eddie like Castagne and absolutely fall down astonished and horrified when we signed Vestergaard and Bertrand. The reason for that is that I had seen them kick a ball before and that's exactly why I didn't want them. The idea that they might mutate into top quality players just by putting on a Leicester jersey is absurd.
  24. Wout and the boys will have a cigar on for this. 3-0. A brace for the young lad Ayew.
  25. The most infuriating, ineffectual and irritating player ever. Infuriating that we paid half a Mahrez for him. The most Brendan of Brendan signings and a bellwether of Rodgers' signings to come. At that point in time we should have been aiming much higher. Infuriating that he seemed to lose the ability to stay upright almost as often as he lost possession. Infuriating that we had one big Perez shaped weak link in an otherwise good team. Had we got that signing right, what might have been? I mean even that murine face of his is bloody irritating. He did a job, just not very well.
