  1. Cooper is a good Championship manager, jury out in the PL. Spent an absolute fortune at Forest and barely stayed up, although I doubt many were his signings. The whole time Forest were in the Prem under him he was on the verge of the sack and would usually dig a result out when he needed it. A battering at Leicester springs to mind when he was expected to be sacked after it. With a lack of money, a points deduction and a Championship level squad I couldn't see him doing much. Plus he wouldn't have the bond with the crowd he had at our main rivals, in fact it'd work against him.
  2. Half the Plymouth post-match thread was "Maresca Out" posts. That was barely a month ago!
  3. Can thank him for getting us back up but Maresca in the PL wasn't going to work at Leicester playing that style of play. Look at Kompany and Burnley and Kompany was given the funds to buy the players he wanted. A points deduction, budget restrictions, his bad temperament. He wouldn't have lasted past October.
  4. For all their crowing, since Leeds last won a major trophy Leicester have won a league title, an FA Cup and two League Cups. Their last FA Cup final was over 50 years ago! And Leeds haven't won a final since 1972, including a 100% failure rate in the play offs. We've also spent more time in the top flight than them as well.
  5. I'd make an appointment with The Championship in mind the year after. We'll have to cut our cloth for the next couple of years.
  6. The post-Plymouth thread was full of Maresca out posts. That was literally last month!
  7. It doesn't help. Everton fans are a lot more militant and the difference is they're still in the Premier League. We sleepwalked to relegation last season. That's not to demand the owners head, but to demand certain standards on the pitch at least.
  8. We were in the same position in 2003.
  9. Which is exactly what these rules were supposed to be brought in to prevent. Nobody took the PL seriously though until the Everton deduction. Although Top must have done to not spend in 2022 which looks even more foolish now as we may as well have spent, stayed up and took the hit like Everton did.
  10. Rodgers was playing the passive aggressive 'pay me off' for at least 12 months before he went. He didn't want to be here but wanted the pay off. That side should never have gone down but Rodgers had downed tools.
  11. Even Derby will cheering us on for promotion as we'll break all their records.
  12. We were close to going under in 02/03 but got promoted. Couldn't compete in the PL 03/04 but the money helped the club. Get promoted, lick our wounds next season, get costs down and our costs under control. The rules will end up changing at some point anyway.
  13. What annoys me is we were so incompetent that we lost all this money, had this wage bill but STILL got relegated. Everton took the mick with the rules but at least they made it count. They got Dyche in mid season and stayed up.
