  1. Have we won a game since losing the points. Any other team would have galvanised.
  2. Yeah, the club needed a few years of mid table stability after the FA Cup win just to reset and calm everything. Did get a bit unfortunate with the Conference League facing Mourinho's Roma (look at the rubbish Palace have played this year). The Rodgers relegation year has undone all the good work before it. Everton would be in a similar mess had they gone down instead.
  3. The O'Neill years were great. The downfall started with Rodgers. We should have been able to stabilise as a top half Premier League club, like a Brighton, we had a top half budget. But his ego sent the club on a tailspin. Spurs are suffering a similar decline now.
  4. He's one of our own
  5. Pressure off now. We'll win.
  6. Well done the board. Just want to thank you all
  7. It's the hope that kills
  8. It can't can it? Football gods do something. We were winning Premier League when they were heading for League Two at Northampton. This is heartbreaking
  9. Anyone think West Brom points deduction will still keep us up?
  10. 10 years ago we were winning the Premier League and Coventry were being relegated from League One while playing in Northampton. I bet they had much hope then either
  11. Gary Holloway.
  12. Are the club too honest or too incompetent? I don't think it's too honest because we exploited a loophole last year to avoid a deduction. Everton exaggerated Covid losses to stay compliant and all kinds of other shenanigans. Eventually got done but only after staying up at our expense. Newcastle/Everton/Villa/Forest selling players to each other for inflated fees to cook the books. Villa/Chelsea selling their women's team. Chelsea selling hotels back to themselves. There's ways around the rules if you're creative and at least pay lip service to them.
  13. Did well to get it to extra time. Southampton will know they've been in a game. We've made them work for it again tonight.
  14. Oh well. We go there at the weekend. How about another 9-0 on the way to Wembley?
  15. Remember winning 9-0 away against these a few years ago. Now losing from 3-0 down at home.
  16. Disappointing result, can't fault the lads for effort tonight against a good side.
  17. It helps that Sheff Wed are gone and looks like Oxford will. Blackburn a question of whether they get a new manager bounce, same with Leicester. West Brom changed their manager and it's got a lot worse, he'll be replaced again soon.
  18. Prior to the pandemic the club were run right. Leicester aren't a huge money spinner as a football club. Haven't got the huge stadium and match revenues of the big clubs in the Premier League or the huge sponsorship deals, so did rely on smart recruitment and bringing in big sales (Maguire, Fofana). After the pandemic the club went from being the model club in terms of being run right to a basket case. The losses in 21/22 and 22/23 (180 million) were purely bad management. And the recruitment and hiring and firing decisions have been very poor in the last 5 years in general.
  19. To a degree but we lost 180 million over 2 seasons between 2021 and 2023 and that's coming back from a pandemic. That's in no way sustainable (especially given the effect the pandemic had on KP as a business). So costs had to come down anyway. The 80 million spent on players after the last promotion (on a squad that won the Championship) should have competed better in the PL, even accounting for the Dewsbury Hall sale. But the club made a bunch of poor decisions with recruitment and hiring and firing.
  20. The first relegation season in 22/23 it was Leicester or Everton. Everton fans refused to accept relegation or players not giving their all. They helped drag them over the line. We sleepwalked to that relegation on and off the pitch. Last season it was a miracle if we even scored at home.
