I know you need a degree of continuity but 3 years is a long time and can result in staleness and inaction. Surely it would be better if there were new participants every year on a rolling basis. I appreciate that is difficult with a new set up. Also there's a risk of all change after 3 years leaving a void. Are the Club reps permanent?

I introduced Technical/Engineering Graduate Apprentices at two places I worked at one private and one public about 15 years ago. They either did sandwich courses 6 months work / 6 months uni or 3 days release to uni. When finished after 4/5 years they were debt free and able to move into higher level technician roles. Absolute no brainier for the employee and employer. Of course there was always the risk of them leaving but as I pointed out that applied to all employees who were in high demand roles at that time so all they needed to do was to treat them as valued employees.

Is the Trust Rep a "permanent" role or is for a certain time.

https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/leicester-news/road-closure-warning-700000-project-9671435 Road closure warning as £700,000 project set to begin on major Leicester street Parking restrictions will also be in place ByTom MackSenior Reporter 12:45, 2 NOV 2024 Drivers are being warned of road closures and parking restrictions along Western Road in Leicester's West End from this weekend as a major project begins. The project is set to cost around £700,000 and will focus on pavements and drains in the area. The warning has been issued ahead of the works beginning on Sunday (November 3). The project will also see the residential street near Bede Park resurfaced, with the scheme set to take months to complete. The city council said footpaths will be improved, dropped kerbs removed and the road surface will also be improved. Changes will also be made to the crossroads at the junction of Western Road and Briton Street to give priority to vehicles and bicycles on Briton Street. Resurfacing of the main carriageway on Western Road, between its junctions with Braunstone Gate and Briton Street, will be carried out in spring 2025. Parking restrictions and rolling road closures will be required throughout the works, with signposted diversions in place. Access to all houses, shops and businesses will be maintained and the work will be suspended during the Christmas period with full access reinstated. Geoff Whittle, assistant city mayor for environment and transport, said: “The city’s road network needs regular maintenance and repairs to ensure it can cope with modern demands. These latest works will see major maintenance and improvements made to a busy residential street and important local route, which will benefit of everyone who uses it. “For that work to take place, parts of the road will need to be closed temporarily but diversions will be clearly signposted and disruption will be kept to a minimum wherever possible.” The £700,000 scheme will be funded as part of the Connecting Leicester programme which is supported by the Department for Transport’s Transforming Cities Fund. The initial work is expected to be completed by late January 2025, and will be carried out in phases on short sections of the road to help minimise disruption

Former Huddersfield Town and Hull City forward Martyn Waghorn has joined League One outfit Northampton Town. A seasoned EFL frontman, Waghorn had been on the free agent market following his departure from Derby County at the end of last season. The 34-year-old has now sealed a return to the EFL, penning a short-term deal with the Cobblers. Northampton boss Jon Brady said: "Martyn is a player with bags of experience and a lot of quality. He has played in the Championship for most of his career and he will bring that knowledge and pedigree with him. "The squad is stretched a little at the moment, both in terms of the number of players missing in forward positions and the busy schedule, and we feel Martyn can help us through this hectic period.

I was referring to how the media reported back then not your writings. City - That's was my point we are rarely if every referred to as City in the media. As mentioned in a previous post re the Merc who were discussing Man City and us and referred to MAN City as City through out the article, confusing and disrespectful especially a local paper. No mention of the ref, the manager, the owner, the Football League just the football. - Like wise this is what today's media focusses on rather than the football on the pitch.
