  2. https://www.leedsallover.com/james-justin-leeds-united-dressing-room-best-ive-been-in/ James Justin heaps praise on Daniel Farke with strong Leeds United claim It was a great, fully deserved moment for Justin late on. He’s been a remarkable asset to the side in recent weeks, stepping in for the injured Jayden Bogle with real reliability. Defensively, he’s been solid with a number of crucial contributions at Liverpool and Newcastle. But, to get his first goal for Leeds will have felt great. After the game, he spoke to the media including Adam Pope. In which, he shared that this Leeds dressing room is the easiest he’s ever had to fit into: Leeds United making Leicester City look foolish on James Justin verdicts Signed for an initial £8million rising to £10million, it looked as though United had forked out a big fee for the full-back. We needed cover for both sides of the defence, and Justin provided that. The issue was that he was a few years off his previous peak run of form in the Premier League. Consequently, Leicester City fans were delighted to cash in on a player they were keen to see the back of. As a result, we held reservations about what to expect from Justin. The results so far from his performances have been outstanding. His comments to Pope outline what I’ve been thinking too. He needed to get out of a toxic Leicester setup and into a club where he’s going to enjoy his football a lot more. Now, he’s benefitting as a result. Adam Pope @apopey · Follow James Justin says it’s the easiest dressing room he’s ever fitted into. Big admirer of Farke’s management. On that point Farke’s name sung by crowd on full time. #LUFC
  3. Foot Mercato first reported that Leicester City defender Wout Faes (27) was nearing a move to AS Monaco on Monday evening. Nice-Matin now report that the deal has moved rapidly, to the extent that he is already training with his new teammates at the Principality club on Tuesday morning. As reported by L’Équipe, Faes’ move to Monaco is expected to be a loan with a buy option estimated to be worth between €5-10m. His signing comes amid a defensive crisis at the Principality club. Mohammed Salisu is out until the end of the season with an ACL injury, Christian Mawissa is out for several weeks with a muscular injury, and Eric Dier has only just returned to fitness, having hardly played a minute of football since the start of October. Reinforcements are therefore a must. Faes’ move to Monaco is now completed, Nice-Matin understands. He is even already in training at the club’s performance centre in La Turbie this morning. 4. https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/sammy-braybrooke-leicester-city-transfer-10751505 EXCLUSIVE: Sammy Braybrooke defends Leicester City loan decision and issues transfer admission Leicester City midfielder Sammy Braybrooke has opened up on why he signed for Chesterfield earlier this month, after spending the first half of the season at Newport County Sport Kieran King 09:00, 13 Jan 2026 Updated 10:07, 13 Jan 2026 Sammy Braybrooke has spoken about his January move to Chesterfield Sammy Braybrooke has defended Leicester City's decision to send him out on loan to Chesterfield, insisting that the move feels like "the right fit". Some City fans fumed after Braybrooke, 21, was recalled from his loan spell at Newport County and then sent straight out to fellow League Two side Chesterfield earlier this month, despite interest from a higher level. The 2004-born midfielder impressed at The Exiles, scoring two goals and providing two assists in 22 appearances during the first half of the season before he returned to Leicester on New Year’s Eve. There had been talk that a League One move was on the cards for Braybrooke, but he instead joined Chesterfield - who play in the same division as Newport - on January 4. Explaining why he ended up signing for Chesterfield, Braybrooke told Leicestershire Live: "There was that talk about going to a higher league, but I looked at it from a point of I just want to play football really and I want to go to a team that suits me, that I'll fit in straight away. "I didn't want to adapt my game to change, and that's what you want when you're a loan player. You want to just go straight in because you can run out of time. "You could go four games without playing and then that's a month and you've only got three months left, so you want to fit in straight away. I feel like it's (Chesterfield) the right fit for that." Newport, who appointed Leicester legend Christian Fuchs as their new manager in late November, have endured a difficult season so far and sit bottom of League Two having won just four of their 24 matches. In contrast, Chesterfield are right in the promotion mix in the fourth tier and sit seventh, just three points off the automatic places. Paul Cook's side have won 10, drawn 10 and lost five of their 25 league fixtures this term. Leicester City midfielder Sammy Braybrooke in action for loan club Newport County(Image: Harry Murphy/Getty Images) Chesterfield utilise a much more front-footed and possession-based brand of football than Newport. Indeed, the Spireites (59) average 12% more ball possession this season than the Exiles (47). They have also scored 18 more goals and average more shots per-90. "I think the move came about towards the end of December, they (Chesterfield) got in contact with my agent," Braybrooke said. "And then obviously my contract at Newport was only up until the 31st of December anyway, so the gaffer (Paul Cook) just gave me a rang, and we had a little chat. Then a few days later I decided that is the one. "I gave them a ring back, they already sorted out everything with us and that was it. I was buzzing, I think it’s a team I want to play in. They play football the way I see football, or how it should be played, and I think it will suit me down to the ground to be honest." Braybrooke made eight appearances for Newport under Fuchs and it’s safe to say he loved working with the former City left-back. "Yeah, he was very enjoyable, to be fair," he said on Fuchs, who worked as a coach in the United States before moving back to the United Kingdom and securing the Newport job last year. "He's got a very good understanding of the game. He knows what he wants his team to do, so you're never really second-guessing yourself when you're on the pitch. "There are no grey areas and he wants to win at the end of the day. If you have to change to win, that's all that matters. He only wants good things from the players and the staff and everyone around him. So yeah, it was very enjoyable." Braybrooke made his Chesterfield debut during last weekend's 2-2 draw against MK Dons. He was thrown straight into the starting XI by Cook and shone, playing the full 90 minutes and winning the fans’ Man of the Match. It was a result that kept the Spireites in the play-off places and well in the promotion race with 21 matches to go. They were due to go up against Colchester on Saturday, but the game was postponed due to a frozen pitch, meaning the Derbyshire side are next in action against leaders Bromley this weekend. Leicester City's Sammy Braybrooke has been one of the top players in League Two this season View 4 Images Leicester City's Sammy Braybrooke has been one of the top players in League Two this season(Image: Malcolm Couzens/Getty Images) On a personal note, Braybrooke is hoping to play as much as possible and develop ahead of returning to Leicester in the summer. From a team perspective, meanwhile, the Wigston star is eyeing up a promotion on his CV. He said: "Yeah, part of the point is just to play as much football as possible and play to the best of my ability and show people what I can do. Just show people what I've done at Newport and bring it into a different environment. "As a team, I think we've got the belief and the quality that we can do good things this year and I'd say promotion is an aim. It's not unrealistic, it's definitely a realistic target. We're just looking to take it game by game and have a strong finish this season." Braybrooke, who joined Leicester's academy as a six-year-old, has made just one first-team appearance for the Foxes and that came against Newport in a Carabao Cup fourth round tie in November 2022. He had been on course to feature more for Brendan Rodgers but an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury in February 2023 hampered his progress, with the playmaker spending more than a year on the sidelines. Sammy Braybrooke made his Leicester City debut in the 3-0 win over Newport View 4 Images Sammy Braybrooke made his Leicester City debut in the 3-0 win over Newport(Image: James Williamson - AMA/Getty Images) "I still think about the debut that day, every day since," Braybrooke said, when asked about his Leicester debut. "I loved it, like you're making your debut in front of all the fans and no one could have really wrote it a few years later I'd be going back to Newport. But yeah, it's something that I enjoyed a lot, to be honest. "Obviously I got injured a few months, about two months after that. So it was a bit of a downer, but I'm just slowly finding my form and I feel like I'm back to my best, to be honest." Long-term, Braybrooke is determined to force his way into the Leicester starting XI on a weekly basis. Hamza Choudhury, Ben Nelson and Jakub Stolarczyk are among the current academy graduates who spent time out on loan before returning and becoming first-team regulars. "It's the club that I've grown up and always played for," Braybrooke finished. "Obviously when you're young, you dream of being a footballer and as you progress further through the ranks, you think this might be a target that I can reach. So yeah, definitely something I want to do. I'd love to play for Leicester. "I know the environment, I know the King Power, it's a pleasure to play there. There's loads of people at Leicester you could look at who have been on loan, played in the 21s, been on loan, came back and they just took their career from there. So yeah, it's definitely trying to follow in their footsteps."

  6. Some Strasbourg fans not happy being underdog owners to Chelsea but other fans happy to ride with the success on the pitch although will that last with Gary O'Neal coming in. Dual Ownership not all good. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c4g49xrjnxno Some Strasbourg supporters have never accepted BlueCo. The club's ultras stay silent for the first 15 minutes of every match in protest. It reflects the opinion of a not-so-vocal minority. L'Equipe has reported, external how other supporters, attracted by the new signings and the team's style of play, have booed the ultras. But for the ultras, Rosenior's move to Stamford Bridge reinforces their stance.

  12. ....and yet delaying paying people for a week seemingly does make a difference assuming it's a cashflow issue.
  13. I'd have thought there were a lot of ways to raise revenue if cash flow is a problem. We could add to the income from kit advertising, plenty of EFL have extra ads on their shirts and shorts. There must be savings they could make at Seagrave, put some of the pitches on hold and reduce the ground staff, and there must be other areas there that could be cut back. I just don't see much in the way of reducing costs going on if things are as bad as some are saying sure things are good but desperate?

  19. From Foxes Trust Reform Chat Mike Whalley | Jon West Thursday January 01 2026, 10.30pm, The Times Martí Cifuentes may look like a man on borrowed time, but it hardly seems to matter. It would take more than a change of manager to sort out the mess Leicester City are in. On and off the pitch they are in trouble wherever you look: fans seem unsure whether to direct rage at the board, Cifuentes or the players. As a woeful performance led to a 3-1 defeat against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, they voiced anger at all three. For the club hierarchy, there was a chant of: “Sack the board.” For Cifuentes, there was a chant of: “You’re getting sacked in the morning.” For the players, there was visible frustration from the away support at full-time. The statistics were damning, and yet still not damning enough. Leicester have long been a team with defensive weaknesses, and their run without a clean sheet was extended to 19 matches as Japhet Tanganga headed in his first Sheffield United goal nine minutes before half-time, with Tom Cannon and Callum O’Hare scoring in the second half. Other numbers illustrated Leicester’s ineptitude more starkly. With an hour gone, their expected goals total was 0.02, and it was tempting to wonder if it might slip into the negative. In that first hour, they managed one shot and earned one corner. When Jeremy Monga, their lively 16-year-old substitute, managed three touches in a row inside the home penalty area shortly after coming on, it was worthy of note. His team-mates had managed just two between them in the previous 68 minutes. It was a genuine surprise to look at the league table afterwards and see that Leicester were as high as 13th. “It was a poor performance,” Cifuentes said. “In the Championship, you need to run, you need to win your duels. We didn’t.” When Jordan James drove in Leicester’s goal, two minutes into added time, the game long lost, there was not a flicker of celebration. As Cifuentes put it: “Well, when you score in the 92nd minute and you’re losing 3-0, there is not much to celebrate, right?” There is not much to celebrate for Leicester full stop. They are waiting to find out if they will receive a points deduction for alleged breaches of Profitability and Sustainability Rules, while fan anger has reached such a level that there are plans for a boycott of Monday’s home game against West Bromwich Albion. Sheffield United, despite being two points and two places below Leicester, are in a happier state of mind. Tanganga, their captain, signed from Millwall for an initial £7million in August, headed in Sam McCallum’s corner to put them ahead, having gone the whole of 2025 without scoring. Cannon swept in from a fine cutback by Andre Brooks to score against a former club for the second time in four days, having also done so in last Monday’s victory at Stoke City. O’Hare turned in Femi Seriki’s low cross to make it 3-0 with two minutes left. “If you win races and headers and tackles, then the ball falls to you a little bit more than it falls to the opposition, and it did,” Chris Wilder, the manager, said.
