You think you'd have still come back from 2-0 rather than 1-0? I really don't think your final 10 mins was an inevitability. I think psychologically being 2-0 up for us would have had us feeling in command and I think the reason you were able to have the final 10 mins you did, is because being only 1-0 down still gave you hope. Who's to say at 2-0 down you didn't overcommit and us hit you on the break again for 3-0?
-
Sure. As i've said multiple times - every team has their 'woulda, coulda, shoulda stories' and I'm not interested in the 'luck debate' for or against for Leicester/Leeds/Ipswich/Southampton. But the fact remains, Leicester should have been 2-0 up in both Ipswich away and Leeds away had the officials done their job. You can't just ignore that.
-
What's wrong with the +6 swing vs Leeds? If Daka's perfectly good goal doesn't get ruled out, that's 2-0 to Leicester at a crucial time and they probably see out the game? That's +3 points for Leicester and -3 for Leeds...?

What Happens if we don’t get promoted
Les-TA-Jon replied to funkyrobot's topic in Leicester City Forum
It's not about whether they're good enough to play for other teams or not is it? It's about the financials. January window suggests we are right up to the threshold for breaking the FFP/PSR rules. Whether that's the PL's or EFL's version or not we don't know. But the EFL version is even tighter than the PL's If we don't go up we'd need to have a firesale to reduce the wage bill and to get a lot of money back into the profit column. -
Yes, I posted the ONE incident I was specifically talking about. As I say, I'm not interested in the season long luck debate. I'm interested in the specific incidents (KDH pen not given 75mins for 2-0 away at Ipswich) and (Daka goal ruled out vs Leeds away for 2-0). You did a laugh reaction to my alternate table post so I presumed you didn't think we should have had those decisions go for us? I.e you don't think it's a pen. Hence my follow up comment.

Can @Dollers with a straight face, explain how this isn't a penalty and a red card then? Wrong side. Not shoulder to shoulder, but shoulder to back. No attempt to win the ball. You'd be screaming for it if it was the other way around. For clarity, I'm not really bothered about the 'luck across the whole season' debate for or against Leicester/Leeds/Ipswich/Southampton. But in a vacuum Leicester were robbed of wins in Ipswich Away and Leeds Away games due to this decision and the goal ruled out vs Leeds, both at crucial moments in the game to go 2-0 up
-
Sure. But even in a vacuum, Leicester should have a +3 swing vs Ipswich and a +6 swing vs Leeds.

Quite contestable that this isn't the correct frame though isn't it. The Leicester player is blocking the view of the QPR player so it's hard to see exactly when the ball is released. In this screenshot it looks like it might be at least a frame or 2 too late, but as I say, very hard to tell. -
Oh for sure. Every team will have those 'woulda/coulda/shoulda stories' but I suppose the difference is, Ipswich, Leeds and Southampton don't have them for their games against their direct rivals like we do.
-
Here's a little PPG comparison for you. Season long PPG vs 5-game form PPG vs Averaged PPG between those 2 extremes. And then 'sense checked' with a dropped points requirement to get to that total (which for example shows how unreliable the 5-game form is - for example, I don't see us and Southampton dropping 20 out of 33 points here on out) What it does show is that unless some of the other teams have a significant drop off, we really need to win 7-8 of the remaining 11 to give ourselves the best chance. But either way the Automatic Promotion race has been blown wide open.
-
I'm less bothered about luck and more bothered about the clear penalty we should have had in the Ipswich Away game, and the Daka goal in Leeds Away, both for 2-0 at a crucial point mid way through the 2nd half. The table could/should look like this: Leicester 83 Ipswich 74 Leeds 70 Southampton 70
-
What’s the method for combining them?
-
Do we know who got booked after the final whistle?
-
Southampton have more fight though - quite a lot of points gained late on
-
We didn’t lose because of Nelson over Coady though did we? We lost because we couldn’t create, everyone was terrible in the final third and we only upped our intensity once 2-0 down
-
Always going to feel worse after 3 straight defeats. but I’m worried now that momentum, form and injuries are against us, compared to Ipswich, Leeds and Southampton. We currently have basically no cover for any of the midfield players

During the 5 mins added on: - Yellow for Nelson. Somehow took 1:00 to process it - booked a QPR player for timewasting - goal kick by Begovic: 0:30 blows for full time at 95:15… -

How about 5-0. Now, where's my reps? -
Is that our season long rate though or just this (meaningless) 3 game sample? Also, given those teams are 3rd, 10th, 1st, 5th and 7th respectively, is that a fair benchmark? We only need 17th or slightly better next season. What are the conversion rates for the bottom 3?

Brendan Making The Headlines It Seems
Les-TA-Jon replied to ElusiveEd's topic in General Football and Sport
Who's offended? I'm just saying there's a demonstrable difference between the two, so saying they're equivalent isn't correct. And regardless of how big the story is, or should or shouldn't be - what he said and the context in which he said it, was still sexist. -
Haha what a weird quirk of the rules. Thanks

Fatawu got sent off vs Cov. We then had Ipswich Birmingham (FA Cup) Swansea Stoke He played in the Stoke game, so served his 3 match ban across the other 3 games, including the cup game. Now I'm confused!

The same King Power that gave Rodgers too much power, signed a ton of average players on high wages, backed us into a corner where we couldn't sign ANYONE, failed to see all the warning signs of relegation, signed yet more dross on big contracts in January, refused to sack Rodgers and ultimately presided over the worst PL relegation of all time in terms of underperformance?
