  1. So, we could lose to Leeds, go up as Champions beating the record for most points EVER and you’d be sat there unhappy. Time to look for a new hobby I suggest.
  2. Maybe it was a different incident but with the benefit of replays it never hit his hand
  3. 1st goal was clearly onside. Don’t know where all these pen/handball claims are coming from. What/where are the red cards people are claiming? the things he did get wrong were: not enough yellows for Boro, not enough time added on at the end.
  4. Obviously disappointing to lose. but let’s not pretend that wasn’t an anomalous game. We missed 1-3 good chances at 0-0. They scored both of their 2 meaningful chances in the entire game. We missed a hatful of others, including a 2 yard sitter from our GOAT. An off day for many players throughout the match day squad but you can’t also discount how difficult it is to play, psychologically, when 2-0 down
  5. Weird comment given that Gallagher was very good for us in his era
  6. That player that ‘fouled’ JJ was neither the scorer or assister so not sure it made any difference.
  7. Prediction: he’ll get booked for time wasting at some point in the 2nd half and not change his behaviour one bit.
  8. We only need 4 wins to get to 90 points. Obviously we don’t want to lose any game. But nothing hinges on today
  9. Was only thinking of league
  10. Not this season
  11. You kinda covered it with your final sentence, but if we get the record, it won't just be the highest ever points total at this level, it'd be the highest ever points total for any team ever in English Football history (but it's kind of a weird stat, since the PL for instance play 8 fewer matches)
  12. Yep 2 perfectly good goals ruled out for Barnes being in the keeper's sightline whilst in an offside position, even though...he wasn't. Plus the dodgy handball pen.
  13. Not that it matters for your argument (which I agree with) but I see 10 PL appearances for Vestergaard in 2021/2022. Not sure how many were starts though. I do remember him 'conceding' a penalty for handball against Brighton when he was being fouled.
  14. You hacked @moore_94 ?
  15. Learn what? What would you rather, let him leave on a free and then spend more on replacing him?
  16. Across 31/32 games that's around 1.5 shots more per game - it's hardly meaningful...
  17. Anyone else not celebrate the opening goal properly because they thought the ref didn’t give it/was giving something else? I always thought the ref signal to give a goal was to point backwards, towards the centre spot. But last night Fatawu slot it home and the ref pointed towards Sheffield Wednesday’s goalline
  18. He was frozen out a bit because he was refusing to sign a new contract. As soon as it signed he was involved again. But yes, still quite a fringe player

Most impressive thing is his attitude, for me. Seems like back in the summer (rightly or wrongly) he didn't want to play at this level and requested a move, and was (correctly) distant from the pre-season and matchday squads. That move didnt materialise and then it took a long while for him to be re-incorporated. As soon as he was called upon he's been great. With a different head on his shoulders he'd have been in a sulk for not getting his move, annoyed at Maresca and not bothered when played and simply waiting for his next club
  20. It now says "Leicester City beat Watford at Vicarage Road as the Championship leaders extended their fine run to just one defeat in 17 games, in all competitions"
  21. The whole point of the attacking part of our system is to reduce the chance of being caught on the transition / to concede too many turnovers of possession once we've committed players forward into the opposition half. It's why we will often recycle the ball multiple times and why we generally take fewer risks the further up the pitch. Especially important when 90% of the teams we face are set up to sit deep and try and hit us on the counter. This is also to account for our personnel, particularly Vestergaard in the centre of defence. You will have seen in the early games of the season (Coventry H in particular) how vulnerable we look we caught on the transition, due to his lack of pace.
  22. Championship in its current iteration is 20 years old FYI
  23. Weird reporting from the BBC
