  1. The point is, the Man City and Chelsea of today couldn't exist if the current rules had been in place back then. That's why Newcastle can't simply buy their way in. A wage bill and spending cap would be the most fair thing to introduce. But: 1) the PL wouldn't vote it in because they'd then lose competitiveness with european leagues and 2) where do you set the cap? Top PL sides have a wage bill of approx £200m. If you set the cap below that, they'd never vote for it and would they appeal to UK/European law for restriction of trade? If you set it to accommodate the top sides, then it makes no functional difference, since the big clubs will continue spending £200m a year on wages and smaller clubs can't afford close to that Clearly, all of this is a complex issue and demonstrably there hasn't been a 'quick, simple and fair' solution yet has there?
  2. Thing is, if you introduce wage and spending caps - then unless they're small enough to be a leveller - then the big clubs still remain the big clubs. And the PL would never vote it in anyway, because they'd then (over time) lose the big players to the european leagues
  3. This Stoke commentator is hilarious. 50% of what he says is “The Head Coach Steven Schumacher” and “…that’s the voice of Glen Whelan”
  4. Anyone got a link?
  5. I wasn’t trying to predict the specific results, just the overall pattern of form
  6. Fair amount away too which helps us as bit more onus on them to actually try and play
  7. To beat the record we need 107 points. That's W12 D3 L2. That looks something like:
  8. With 17 games left, even if we repeat our worst 6 game form (10 points in 6 games - W3 D1, L2) , 3 times between now and the end, we get 99 points. Southampton on track for 95.3; Ipswich 96.9; Leeds 90.4
  9. We don't do that here. It's blind, uninformed speculation and imagined narratives where we pretend we know what goes on between the ears of Rudkin, Maresca, Whelan and Top
  10. For clarity, I don't think "We don't know" is synonymous with letting people off the hook. It's simply, our discussion is just that - uninformed speculation, conjecture and imagined narratives. I think the club is, continues to be and has been a mess for the last 2-3 years.
  11. Seems a fairly straightforward counterargument when the claim in question is 'I imagine Enzo feels this' and 'Rudkin said that' and 'Enzo said this' - when we don't know...
  12. For clarity, I don't think Rudkin is blameless. He's part of the system from above the manager, all the way to the top that presided over all the mistakes of the last 2 years or so. I'm just saying we just don't know, so it's hard to know, specifically, what to blame him for... And who's to 'blame' for signings like Vardy, Mahrez, Kante, Drinkwater, Fofana, Maddison etc? And the successful high value sales of Fofana, Maddison, Barnes, Maguire, Mahrez, Chilwell, Drinkwater etc?
  13. For clarity, I don't think he's blameless at all. We just don't know, so it's hard to know, specifically, what to blame him for...
  14. You didn't say that? You said "The second half in that [Ipswich] game is one of the worst halves of football I have ever seen us play" If that's you opinion, then fine, that's your opinion. I'm just saying if it truly is, then you either 1) have not seen many Leicester games or 2) have a very different way of watching to most fans Blimey you must have been on suicide watch for the last 2 years under Rodgers...
  15. Just because I said one thing doesn't mean I think the opposite. I'm just saying the reality is we don't know what goes on behind closed doors Don't pretend you know I just prefer to discuss things when I'm informed, not uninformed. I think there's a lot of problems at Leicester, from above the manager right up to Top himself - how can there not be? They presided over one of the worst ever PL relegations, in terms of under performance. But how on earth do we know how this Sensi deal broke down? If you know feel free to enlighten us and provide your sources. Was it Rudkin's incompetence? And in what form did that take? Did he miss an email? Did he insult Inter Milan somehow? Did Sensi have a last minute wobble and pull out of the deal? Did he fail the medical? Did Inter Milan try and change the deal in their favour at the last minute? Did the deal encounter last minute legal issues? Who missed that? Inter or Leicester? Rudkin himself or one of LCFC's legal team? Etc etc etc Oh and feel free to provide the Enzo quotes from media appearances where he says 'We will sign players and I was told funds are available to do so'
  16. Coherent contribution. Well done.
  17. If this wasn't intended as comedic hyperbole then I'm wondering when you must have started watching Leicester. Maybe around September 2023 or something?
  18. Do you have access to their email inboxes? How on earth do you know what has / hasn't been communicated between Maresca and Rudkin since June!?
  19. Is anyone actually informed about why we didn't sign someone? Is anyone actually informed into the role Rudkin did or didn't play? I know it's an internet forum so it's par for the course, but this is just a bunch of people losing their minds over something they're quite literally uninformed about...
  20. Just use the same table?
  21. I heard a rumour that the Harrison deal was reliant on Vestergaard going to Fulham on loan, due to wages situation and then he declined the loan move at the last minute.
  22. Within this season. We had the loss of PL income, and then we signed a lot of players. It'll probably ease up next season with more players leaving and with PL income returning.
  23. 7 more wins and all of the bottom half can't catch us All a bit irrelevant because realistically there's only 3 teams that can feasibly finish on 90+ points
  24. You've got us finishing on 94.8 if we drop to Coventry's form. But on current season long form, I've got Ipswich finishing on 96.9 and Southampton on 95.3?
  25. Obviously we're at risk of mismatching football semantics but just looking at the last 10 games I'm seeing: Plymouth H 4-0 Dominated Millwall H 3-2 Dominated Birmingham A 3-2 Dominated Rotherham H 3-0 Dominated Ipswich A 1-1 Dominated (maybe struggled a bit towards the last 20 minutes, but should have been out of site by then had we not been denied a stonewall penalty) Cardiff A 2-0 Hugely dominated Huddersfield H 4-1 Dominated Coventry A 1-3 obviously not Ipswich H 1-1 wouldn't say dominated. But the better side for first 75 mins Swansea H 3-1 Dominated
