What does a good season look like?
NextPlease replied to Sol thewall Bamba's topic in Leicester City Forum
If fans of many other League One clubs read this thread the accusations of being an entitled bunch would be justified. The other clubs aren’t going to just roll over and have their tummy tickled. Yes, I hope we got straight back up, but those basing their ideas on the Enzo season or our previous L1 where we had many good players for L1 already established are sadly misguided As many have said, let’s see what the squad looks like at the end of the transfer window & let’s hope for a good start -

We have played second fiddle to Ipswich in the past, when Bobby Robson was in charge, Mick Milks was captain, so yes with those memories my support for Leicester goes back a long way, so have had far more years supporting a yo-yo club than being an established top tier club. If a PL club signs a player currently it would not be a top 3 story, it’s all about the World Cup -

“Want our club back” What does this mean, do you really expect any future owner set up to be a consortium of local businessmen ? That would not deliver the finances to maintain a PL club 30th story, all football journo’s focus is on the World Cup, even McKenna leaving Ipswich was well down the list & Martin’s appointment got more coverage than fellow relegated club Oxford parting ways with their manager -

When my thoughts were we will be seeing this at the KPS, but it worked for England but will RM’s half time team talk make a noticeable difference like last night ? -

This is most relevant part of the Fan Reps letter However, progress is frustratingly slow, and we want to reassure you we are continuing to press the club on this. We hope that now changes have been completed at senior level at the club and our new CEO and sporting director are in place, more regular and meaningful communication about the club’s footballing intentions and direction will be made – while understanding, of course, that this will always need to be done in a way that does not give any advantageous knowledge to our competitors. We have specifically asked the club to communicate properly with fans about the club’sfootballing direction ahead of the start of the new season and they have committed to keeping us informed about progress with this. -

Changes have been made at the club (not the change desired by many), it is now all about when & how often the new CEO and particularly the new SD communicate directly to the fans (and ensure that is maintained) Many of the comments relating to "lack of engagement" really means those leading the club aren't talking to us (the entire fan base) in a meaningful way (like Ipswich & Southampton did last season & Wolves this season) and providing a sense of direction, as per call to action 4, rather than anything else regarding fan consultation The current FAB & FCC members can only continue to bang that drum until it happens -

Maybe the “against ID checks” needs a deeper dive survey What are the main objections? The justification from clubs is based mainly around fans buying tickets and then selling/passing on to others - which gets around the away priority points systems, so some with high priority rarely go to games themselves That said the away priority points system does need revising & a revision should not have been delayed for another season Also that many trouble makers at away games are not fans who originally bought the tickets & therefore harder to identify -
My expectation is that the CEO & SD will both speak to the fans at some point prior to the new season starting
-
What is your source for saying this ?
-
Have you tried some anger management training ? Infact, if anyone on here runs a course on this topic, there could be a Foxestalk block booking 😀
-
Totally agree, sick of posters on here pointing fingers at those who wanted to enjoy a celebration of one of the highlights of their lives. If it wasn’t for you fine, just don’t go but stop telling others what they should or shouldn’t do
-
The various other uses of the pitch are usually completed by the end of May, they then replace the pitch and its timed to be ready in time for the new season. That’s the normal cycle
-
It’s a complicated site to get planning permission, many restrictions, altho with the drive to increase house building maybe the political appetite will be there to ease them
-
If there is any truth in this at all, then an organisation involved in property would be more interested with outline planning permission for a hotel and concert/other activities venue, so owning the entire site. Of course the long term benefits to the club could then be lost if the income from those developments don’t flow into the clubs coffers. They would logically take the decision to build those first and leave the stadium untouched as it doesn’t need expansion while in the EFL
-
Another one making judgements on fellow fans who want to enjoy the event You don’t want to go fine The event doesn’t have a great demand on the wallet and questioning the mental health of fellow fans is disrespectful Mental health is a serious issue, not a topic to be used as a slur on fans who don’t agree with your viewpoint
-
Why can’t fans enjoy an occasion remembering one of the best years of their lives ? Rather than dwell on depressing recent seasons You seem to want to forget the enjoyable past but forever bang on about last season, which is also in the past now. Have you ever posted anything positive about anything? Hopefully the new playing squad will go into next season with a positive mindset, as will many new season ticket holders glad to be able to attend all the games
